I'm new, too--or at least new to being organized about my approach. I've run/walked a few 5Ks in the last couple of years and have the goal to RUN THE WHOLE DANG THING this year! I started a training program through the local park/rec center in January and am religiously getting out and completing "homework" assignments (intervals of running and walking) so I'm at it 3x week. I've signed up for a 5K in mid-April and actually believe I'll be conditioned to do it!

There's something thrilling about going farther than I've gone since I was a kid, not letting 20-degree temps or strong winds stop me. I think I finally get why all you folks do this... emoticon

Happy weekend to you!

Hi all, I'm new to jogging/running/wabbling! I did my first 5K on Thanksgiving day. Finished at 41:29. There were like 2,000 participants! I was trying to train with Sparks 5K training program but could only train sporadically because of work, school, family obligations, but I am very proud of my time, as there was time I was so de-conditioned, it would have taken me 90 minutes to walk a 5K! My next 5K is this month on the 27th! I hope I can improve my time!
