Welcome to the team threads! I'm glad your ankle felt better this morning, and I hope it continues to allow you to run. Never worry about how fast your times are. Remember, even the very fastest runner always wants to be faster. It's great to just be able to say we can run!

Welcome and congratulations on your good start! I met an awesome lady at a race this weekend who was in her 70s and has run dozens and dozens of marathons and half marathons. She told me, "I'm never the fastest and I'm never first, but I'm always happy and that's why I run." She was an awesome motivator! Good luck!

Good morning!
I joined the other day, but am just now getting to introduce myself.
I tried to start running last month but ended up pulling something in my ankle and had to give it a rest for a couple weeks. I had been using a couch to 5k app but it just pushed my weak ankle too hard. So i created a timer with longer walk time in between to let it rest. So far its working great! Just did my second run with it this morning and I feel fabulous! Had to cut it a little short because i was using the local track and the city guys were standing around waiting for me to finish so they could mow. I still got most of my workout in and went 1.67 miles. I use nike+ running and it said I beat my best time for both a mile (16:07) and 1k (9:59). I know these arent the best times ever, but i am happy with them!

I am hoping to find a few friends to give mutual cheers to, and possibly be able to add to my Nike+ feed. ☺️ Its awfully lonely on there all by my lonesome!
