I think you can train for a 15k by March. When I started in January, 2 laps around the track (about 1/5 of a mile) wore me out. I can now run for a full mile (not at speed, but I can do it). And I was able to run/walk a 10k and a 15k this past summer. Now my goal is to be able to do a 5k running the whole time. If you are already running 2 miles you should have no trouble with a 15k by March!

Welcome to the team - these folks are very supportive.

Jennifer

Cheri,

Just allow time for good recovery between your runs and don't try to rush the process. You may even want to work in some 5K and 10K races in between now and then to see how you are progressing.

HAPPY SPARK RUNNING!

Welcome and good luck!

I don't win races, but I always cross the finish line. I'm not fast, but I try my best to become faster. I don't have sports endorsements or earn a paycheck, but that doesn't stop me from running. My pace does not define me. Just because "professional" does not precede "athlete" in describing me doesn't make my running any less valuable. I am an everyday athlete; leading a normal life, but with big goals and dreams.
I am an athlete. I am a runner. (runzoerun.com)

There is an article called: "Spark your way to a 10K" that might be helpful.

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think wise, risking more than others think safe, dreaming more than others think practical, and expecting more than others think possible.

Hey! You are an inspiration! I'm just able to jog (slowly) 2 miles outdoors and 3 on the treadmill. I've been thinking about a 5k but I'm nervous to take that next step. 10k by spring, great goal! Good luck to you!

I want to train for the Gate River Run 15K taking place in March. I am starting at being able to run about 2 miles. Wish me luck!

The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves.
