Hi everyone. My name is Betty. I am a mother of two sons. I is nineteen years old and the other is 10. I work full time and working on my doctoral degree full time also. I enjoy the wii but will get frustrated with it. I love a challenge.

From the strength of the almighty GOD there is no boundaries that I cannot conquer.

Welcome to the team! I know it can hurt when you first start; but, hopefully, you agree it's a good kind of hurt.

Hi Sara! Congrats on your college graduation and start of your teaching career! That really is fabulous and I have the utmost respect for teachers.

I usually have 2 challenges going and they are the first 2 sticky threads in the Challenges Forum of this team. One is monthly and if you read the first/oldest post in that thread, you'll see how it works. The other is a weekly one that runs Sunday through Saturday; I usually post the new one sometime Saturday. This one is written to encourage exercise every day; but, you can participate even if you don't use your Wii Fit daily.

You can jump right into either challenge at any time so you do not need to wait until Sunday or til the beginning of June to join in. I want people to join as soon as they are ready.

Enjoy!

Hey, I started SP in 2008, graduated from college, started teaching, and gained a lot of weight. I've been back on SP for a few months now. I got my Wii two christmas's ago, but haven't really used it that much. Lately I have been using it almost daily. I LOVE using it! I've been doing the Jillian Michaels 2010 Wii game (circuits) and Wii Fit Plus right now. I've also been trying to do more of the Yoga poses on Wii Fit Plus. I am excited to join a Wii group. How do the challenges work? Is something posted for each week and we log in what we do for the challenges? Do the challenges start on Sunday? Thanks!!

Hello! My name is Serenity. I have been on Sparkpeople for a little while now, and I just found this group! When I first started trying to lose weight, the wii fit was all I worked out on, and I still love it. I think having challenges to do for it will be awesome.

Hi everyone! I joined because I really enjoy the WiiFit! I bought mine in the Summer of 2010 (it was actually a surprise for my boyfriend) and I enjoyed it... but I've stopped playing in the last year and I want to go back to it! I think the weekly challenges will help me! I plan on playing 15 minutes per day :) I think it's a great and fun add-on to regular exercise!

Hi

I used Wii fit a few months ago - but then had a break form doing any exercise for too long. I joined the gym back in February and have consistently kept going and this week I also went running for the first time as well as walking to and from work each day since September. However, since I bought the Wii fit stuff, I figure 15 minutes per day before I leave for work will set me up right and mean I didn't waste my money.

Looking forward to tracking tomorrow for the first go.

emoticon AGOLDAPP4! Nice to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you through your team participation.

Check out the weekly and monthly challenges in the Challenge Forum for our team. The first sticky is the current weekly challenge and the 2nd sticky is the monthly one. You post your results in the thread. If you check them out, I think you'll see how it goes. Just ask if you have more questions.

In addition to those challenges, there are a couple of team goals that you can see near the bottom of the main team page. Those goals are tracked via your Other Goals section after you join them.

Hello, I'm new to this team. I am an avid Wii fit user. It is great to have found others who use the board. I use the wii to track the days that I workout. I tend to use it more in the extreme cold or hot weather. I have a few other games that I use - Wii active, zumba, biggest loser, black eye pea experience. I have lots of weight to lose, but my immediate goal is to move from obese into the overweight range. I have been teetering on the line. Glad to find the team.

emoticon Kim! Glad you decided to join the team!

Hey, you should not feel foolish about your 2857 steps - that is a great amount of stepping and good exercise! Be proud of it.

Often, when you see people tracking 10,000+ steps, they are counting all steps for the day. Many members do wear a pedometer and count walking around the house, etc. Some people choose to only count steps when they are doing actual walking exercise - whether on the Wii, on treadmill, outside taking a walk or run. What you count is up to you.

If you're a newbie to tracking steps, you might want to start counting all steps if you can wear a pedometer. You might also think about setting a lower goal to start off. If you can do 10k easily, then go ahead and go for it. If that is too much at this stage of your fitness, then maybe you go for 7500 or 5000 steps as your first goal. Then increase your goal when you hit that first mini-goal.

Hello
I am new to the challenge and must say I feel a bit foolish because I felt like I was doing something by free stepping 2857 steps only to find others are like in the 10 thousands. I know my health has to come into play but it is still frustrating. I am going to get me a perdometer today to see if I am making more steps than I think. Does just walking around stores and around the house count or should I not count those?

emoticon JENNLRC! Happy to see you found our team and decided to join in on the Wii Fun.

You mentioned the weight discrepancy using your Wii. It works best if you have it on a hard surface if possible, i.e,. not on a cushy rug. If on a rug, it is usually better if you put on those extension feet too. Some are still off; but I've found mine to be very accurate since I put the feet on.

Hello, new to the team. I just got the Wii fit, I have played it before. I have a problem with the board not weighing accurately, it shows that I am ten pounds lighter than what I actually am which is a bit frustrating, but I have a scale in the bathroom so I can track things that way too right.
Anyway, I hope to keep up with the daily challenge, it should be fun.

I am trying to get back into this. I tried in June, then went on vacation and it all fell to the way-side. My plan is to start up on the Wii fit again tonight after my son goes to bed, and do my daily work out from 7:30-8 every night. Wish me luck!

Hi -- I'm excited to see this challenge group. My husband and I have been following the Dash Diet since the beginning of January and I've been working out on the Wii, although I'm sure I don't use it to the best extent possible. I look forward to challenging myself with the team and using the Wii to further my weight loss.

It's nice to meet you both. I'm a firm believer that we can all use our Wii's as part of our workout routines to improve our fitness and lose weight too. I find so much about the Wii Fit fun as well as exercise and have quite a few other Wii workout dvds that I use regularly too...well, some more regularly than others. :-) I hope you check out the challenges in this team and enjoy it. Just ask if you have questions.

Hi I'm Linda and purchased my Wii fit a yr ago. But alas so far it hasn't been used much. Im hoping that I'll get inspired thru the Team and lose the 75lbs that is my goal! Thanks everyone in advance for all your help and support.

You can't fail til you quit! Stay focused and see the results. One small goal at a time !

emoticon NICKIDENNIS! Sorry it took me a few days to respond. I'm glad you decided to join our team.

You asked about putting Wii Fit items in the Fitness Tracker. If you have Wii Fit Plus, I recommend using the total calories that it estimates for your workout and creating a 'Favorite' in the Tracker. (You can get the calories burned estimate by clicking on the Wii Fit piggy at the end of your workout session.) On the Fitness Tracker, select Add Cardio; then select Manually Enter Calories Burned. Enter a name (like Wii Fit) along with the number of minutes and calories from your workout. Be sure to check the box for Add this Exercise to My Favorites. Select the Add Exercise button.

The next time you have a Wii Fit session to record, you simply go to Add Cardio and pick the Favorites tab. You pick the Wii Fit item from the list and enter your new time/calories. Voila!

Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Best wishes to you in your journey!

Hi I am new to all of this but when I saw your team I just knew it was for me. I have been using my Wii for about a year now, got it as an anniversary present (I don't know if that was good or not ) but I sure do enjoy the Wii. I worked out real steady for about 3 months and then health reasons stopped me but I'm back now for good. I noticed some of the activities are not listed in the fitness tracker, I was wondering how ya'll keep records. If anyone can explain it to me I sure would be thankful. Thanks for letting me join the team
