My life tomorrow will be the result of my attitudes and the choices I make today.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea

I have been a member of both this team and SparkPeople before. I lost my information and been through so many changes that I started a whole new page.

My name is Tammy but I prefer Portia. It first started in 2001 when I woke up one morning and could not breath. 3 months and several tests later they discovered that I have Non Specific Interstitial Pneumonitis, which is an interstitial disease. At the time they thought it was odd that someone who had just turned 30 would all of a sudden develop a lung disease. I finally got better and got back into life.

I moved here to Los Angeles, and one morning unexpected I had a dry cough and trouble breathing. I went to my doctor who ran some tests and found out that I had Mild PH (Pulmonary Hypertension). I ended up in the emergency room, and after wondering why I had so many odd diseases they ran the ANA and diagnosed me with MCTD.

As you imagine I have had many things develop since then: Arthritis, Anemia, Neuropathy (so far only in my arms), pre-diabetic, and a whole host of other issues. I am here to make some friends and support. I look forward to knowing all of you.
