Hi I'm from Mn where I feel like winter is never going to end this year. Just moved to less house more land 12 acres in the country. Lived in a camper for 7 months . Moved into our house on thanksgiving day. So yeah cold, wt gain , depression. I at one time lost 40 lbs with Sparks and at the age of 52 with 7 grand children I would like to lose 10 pounds and be in good health, keep up with them. I need challenges to do this. That's what's worked in the past. My hubby was supposed to help and work on it to but so far it's just been words. We'll see what the nicer weather brings. Working 3 jobs doesn't help but a necessity right now but one job is really enjoyable a 5 person elderly asst living right next door to our house. Any way here I am ready to give it a go. Oh my daily weakness. Chocolate. Doesnt help that one of the Dr's buys a bag of hersheys minutures every day. I do go for the dark chocolates though. Sigh.

Hello from Wisconsin ..
I'm 60 years old, 2018 is going to be a year of big changes, as I'm retiring mid year from a small family business that I've been at for 40 plus years (1976) ...13 employees .. picture a family thanksgiving 52 weeks of the year .. 365 .. Well -- I'm one of the (Nonfamily) but had been adopted by the family years ago .. lol .. I've been a member of SP since 2006 ... and love the site ..just branching out to more support .. :) I've dealt with stresses of my job, my personal life and have been working to make sure I slowly regain control .. this being my last step .. :) Menopause set in, and well .. my belly expanded .. and expanded and well -- expanded .. and I keep saying that I now have the pregnant belly the good Lord never gave me when I was younger .. I have a wonderful husband that will give me the world (if the price is right.. lol) but he's the king of the junk food junkies .. and while I love having dinner ready for me when I get home from work (he's got 2 years experience in this retirement thing) I'm still working on him understanding what a serving size contains .. A BOX of fish patties is not 2 servings .. lol lol .. We're working on it .. :) I know that small goals are what I need to keep myself motivated .. and I'm finally getting myself fed up with "just being", and want to be able to get myself healthy again .. With my new year coming up .. I can make my own small goals, but after looking through your site .. I think it would be wonderful having the backing in my goals .. :) So if I can come and play with y'all .. I would really like it !!! :) Sally (dba PrincessPP)

Hi everyone! I'm restarting...
I'm a musician and youtube topic-vlogger. About 10 ago I lost 50 pounds and became a model!! After some mental health issues, my body was like "HERE!! Have these 50 pounds back" (haha) and that's where I am now. I'm motivated to do better and get healthier! It's great to meet you all! Edited by: SPARTANWOMAN at: 11/14/2017 (20:46)

Hi there! My name is Brooke. I just joined the group. I joined SP A year ago when I realized that I was at my highest weight ever of 239 pounds. After 11 months of challenges, commitment as well as ups and downs, I managed to lose 42 pounds from July 2016 to May 2017 as "94TOGO". At 197 pounds I was happy and ready to keep on losing weight but got distracted by the summer holidays! Ice cream, cake and all sorts of other things got in my way and I stopped tracking, stopped walking and stopped checking into SP. so it should have come as no surprise when I weighed in at 208 pounds last week. Shaking my head in despair and disappointment I realize that I needed to get back on track. So I came back at to SP ( this time with the new username and a new goal "MY_55_LB_GOAL"). Today is my first day and my starting weight is 205.26 ! My goal weight is 150 pounds so I have 55 pounds left to go!
55 pounds to go!
CURRENT WEIGHT - 205 pounds 08/13/2017 STARTING WEIGHT - 239 pounds 07/26/2016

![]() I have been on and off Spark People since 9/28/12 (ILIKELIFE) This time (BOWDIDDLE) I have been consistently logging in and moving forward "one day" at a time. I have realized, for me, one change at a time works best! I am amazed that I have been consistent for over 250 days! That's a big deal for me! lol I'm looking forward to being apart of the team! Hi, my name is Sandy. I have been a member of sparkpeople for a long time. When I first joined sparkpeople I lost over 45 pounds and kept it off for several years. But life happened and I pretty much gave up on everything for a while, including myself and my health. I have gained all of that weight back. I have been on sparkpeople for over a year again, but never really put much effort into it. So if course I have not seen any real results. I have been losing the same 5-8 pounds for over a year. I just found my spark again and I am back on track. Finally. I saw this team on someone else's spark page and decided to join the team. I am looking forward to making some new friends on my new journey.

Hi there,
I have been on Spark for awhile and have come and gone. My daily challenge is to log in each day. I'm on day 15 of doing that. I'm down 6 lbs, but have 69 lbs to go to meet my target, healthy weight. I have a middle school daughter and want to be a good example for her, not a yoyo queen.... which I have been. I'm going to try to work this one day at a time. Thank you for your support.

Hi everyone! I am Joanne, a retired elementary school librarian, and soon-to-be-retired Marriage Commissioner who lives in Canada, land of ice and snow (right at the moment anyhow!) I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years and am in maintenance mode. I came across this team by accident and thought it would be a perfect fir for me. I love mini-goals - not as good at the bigger goals! - and I love having one thing to work toward each day. I have been looking for ways to become more involved in the 'community' aspect of Spark, so have done a couple of challenges, and am getting comfortable with posting messages and interacting. (I am a big-time introvert!) I look forward to being a part of this team.

Hello all. I have been part of this team before, but quit SP for a while. Then moved onto 30 day challenges. Unfortunately it's still hard for me to stick with them. I was doing great for my first challenge, but then i got stitches in my leg and don't want to fall off track. So I will adjust as needed and do a challenge everyday to stay on track.

I find myself losing focus on longer challenges and hoping this may be just the ticket have a challenge a day. Nice to meet all of you.

Hi there! My name is Lala. I have not been on track since June 1st and really need a lil encouragement & motivation to MAKE time to get to the gym.
Last year, I lost 65 lbs and have 10 more to go to my ultimate goal of 150. I did it by watching my portions while still eating whatever I wanted, started drinking water (I used to be a camel and NEVER drank water), and added exercise 6 days a week (4-5 days in the gym). I am super busy with work - I co-own an alarm company with my Hubs & I own two DS (direct sales) business - Younique (makeup) and Tupperware. So, I have let my ME time dwindle and have not followed through with my weight-loss journey plan. I "study" SP everyday... I try to get at least 100 SparkPoints everyday. It really helps reading and learning. But I need to get motivated and pounded into my head to get back to the GYM! Be beYOUtiful... Be YOUnique!

I'm new to the 1 Day Challenge. I'm really not sure how this works but thought I would give it a try. I picked a challenge that I think will be difficult for me as I tend to get "lost" in the day and forget to do a little something only for me. Or I justify things I do for others as also doing them for me. Mostly because if these things don't get done, I tend to fret over them or focus on them rather than more productive things. However, I am off to a decent start as Saturday I treated myself to a pedicure. I don't do it often. But it was super nice. Now I just need to train myself to relax and enjoy it when I make the decision to do it and not fret over the cost and time taken away from other things. I find that hard to do. Maybe doing this challenge once I day I will be able to retrain my "brain" to find some focus and peace within myself each day. Hope every one has a fabulous week!

Hey Carol! Welcome to the team. Progress doesn't follow a straight line. Things go up and down - sometimes opposite of the direction you think they should go. Look at the long term, and remember you're commitment to a healthy lifestyle. I posted a blog the other day about being in it for the long haul rather than focusing on short-term success or a point on the scale. Check it out on my Spark page and see what you think.

Hi. I'm Carol and I have been a member of SparkPeople for 3 weeks now. I have been very dedicated to tracking my food, water and exercise. The first week I lost 4 of the 60 pounds I have to get rid of. The 2nd week I stayed exactly the same and so far this week nothing is coming off. I am discouraged so I decided to join this team and take one day at a time. I'm looking for support and motivation.

Hey from Bama,
I found the BSD at the first of the year through a Spark Friend. I love that book. Using it and my doc's weight loss clinic, I lost 15 pounds. Then life got crazy, some emotional stuff, and I have still kept the weight off (mostly) but I didn't finish Beck. I'm on Day 4 - GIVING MYSELF CREDIT. Credit for doing some housework, yard work, eating mindfully, and doing some hand weight workouts and wall/kitchen counter pushups. Happy to have found you. Hello and good morning! My name is Megan and I am not new to spark or weight loss. But I am determined to never stop, never quit. I am looking to be a better, fitter version of me. I love the idea of daily challenges to stay motivated and to keep things new and exciting.

Good Morning Everyone
![]() I have been pretty active on SparkPeople since retiring in 2008 and found this team while looking at one of my SparkFriend's page. I wasn't ready to join yet so bookmarked it to come back to later and now don't remember which SparkFriend I have who is also here. There is quite a bit about me on my SparkPage and I write blogs fairly regularly if you want to take a look. I've been gone from SparkPeople for several weeks now due to coming down with a persistent case of shingles in mid-February. The initial rash started to fade the first part of March and then came back again worse than ever. Not only wasn't I feeling very good I was depressed and frustrated and definitely not feeling like participating in my Spark teams or doing much of anything else. I'm still a little itchy but think the worst is over now and I'm ready to start working on my weight loss goals and catching up with my Spark friends again. I live in Southern Oregon. The weather here is good, our fruit trees are all budding and I'm making plans to get our vegetable garden started. The doctor told me to stay out of the sun because it would aggravate my shingles rash so I'm starting my plants indoors and will replant them in our garden beds when they get big enough. I've been outside when it's cool in the morning getting the garden beds ready and pulling weeds in my flower bed so getting a little exercise that way. I also bought an exercise bike and have been using it a little every day. It's been awhile so I'm having to start slowly, so far I can manage about 15 minutes at a time and that's all. Hello, I'm looking forward to being a part of a new team. I'm trying to improve my lifestyle. The one thing that I've stuck to is giving up potato crisps for Lent. I'm glad that at least one goal has been stuck with. Would like to control evening eating for next challenge but finding it hard. Will try one day at a time to eat fruit at night. I'm 55, a single mum and have been struggling with my weight for years now. Would love to get to about 140lbs eventually. It would be great to feel light again. Dee. Xx

Hi - I am a returning member! I have had some great success with SP and a gym that focuses on weight loss through increased muscle and metabolism. However, I had to stop all shoulder work and activity in January due to a very painful "impingement" syndrome. I am not 100 percent yet and have to watch it! Needless to say...the weight has crept back on and I know how hard it was to get it off - so I am determined to nip it in the bud, so to speak. So back to SP and teams such as this one!

Trying to get healthier. 1 Lose weight 2 Keep sugar levels under control. 3 Feel like doing more stuff. 4. I do have quit smoking under my belt, thus the weight gain. One year smoke free 1/23/15. This can't be an excuse any longer! Sure I gained 40 pounds, but that is a heck of a lot of food! I am not going to be Miss Piggy any more, I am soon to be Miss Fit! Love it. Oh yeah, I love to have fun and laugh.

Team looks like fun, and it helps to have at least one thing that is different from the regular routines. Looking forward to it. Been spark member a few years.

Hi... I'm Katarina and I just decided to start losing weight...quite aimlessly, too. I don't exactly have a plan in mind, but I think this challenge would be a fun thing to attempt along the way :)
