Hi Christine - I like what you said about "eat something that GROWS on a plant and was not MADE in one" That would make a good catch phrase.

This is an ongoing journey for all of us. Glad you got back on the train.

Welcome Christine! I think you've found the right place! These are the most supportive and wonderful folks I've ever known, and I know that they have great ideas and advice. We are the masters of the "ridiculously easy goals" and we build upon those to great success. Have a look around and enjoy - I second the recommendation to visit and read back through the 2010 Win thread. It's the first thing I check every day and the last thing I check before bed!

Welcome back, Christine! Sounds like you have a good handle on your situation. And Barbara Boo had some really good feedback, too.

You'll find your way if you just keep going. The only thing that could stop you is you. And I don't see that happening. Our health can be a great motivator.

Good goals and important reasons.

You may be a good candidate for the "2010 WIN" in the Challenge Forum. It's an ongoing group of friends who support one another in our efforts to be honest with ourselves and improve our health and quality of life. It's not a competitive atmosphere. We want everyone to win. The group acts as a cheerleader and as a coach for things that bother us.

Our only requirement is to check in once per week with a progress report (usually on Friday or one of the weekend days). We choose our own weekly goals, which can include or not include weigh-ins. Mainly, we are interested in getting better at the behaviors that will help us maintain our weight losses permanently. Most of us hang out there daily, to give and get support.

You can participate a week at a time, a month at a time, or all year. Do some lurking and then pop in and tell us about your goals for the week, if you decide you want to join the group.

You might also like to check out our SEXY VIRTUAL GYM or our DAILY GOALS thread. At various times, we function best with a list of pre-planned daily goals.

I don't think anyone will be taking shots at your posterior. You sound pretty determined.

Hi everyone, I'm Christine from Raleigh NC and this is my 2nd go around with SP. I'm out of chances, my health is going downhill, my body is wearing out. So today I made three positive moves to get to my goal...1) rejoined SP after a 3 year hiatus, 2) made an appointment to see an orthopaedist on Wednesday, and 3) got honest with myself (see bathing suit pics on my sparkpage YIKES).

This week my goals are teeny tiny. I will drink more water (anything higher than ZERO would be an improvement). I will swim or walk every day for one hour. I will blog every day - or more if needed - it's like therapy for me and helps me to stay focused. I will actually eat something that GROWS on a plant and was not MADE in one.

So that's it for now. Wish me luck and if you see me slacking off, be sure to kick me in the posterior! It's pretty big so you can't miss it.... emoticon
