Glad to meet you! This team is full of intelligent free-thinking people and you can just feel the love.

You know, I hadn't really encountered our pal Jesus here on SP that much. I spent a lot of time on my "class" team as I was finding my way around at first, and checked out the knitting and gardening teams. Not much bible there, but also not much about weight loss. I stumbled on this team thru fate, I guess, and I haven't stopped since.

See you around, I hope!

Thanks for the great welcomes! I am looking forward to checking out more of the team. I've been sick for a few days but as soon as I feel better, I'll be rarin' to go.

Welcome, Sheila!

There should be no guilt associated with eating. Just take baby steps towards your goal and you'll be healthier one day at a time!

We have an enlightened diverse group on the team, as you probably remember. So, enjoy getting acquainted by visiting some pages and/or joining discussions or starting your own topics (about anything and everything).

Our sister team, LAH generally talks a bit more about religion than we do. It's a good fit, since we talk more about losing weight than they do. We focus mainly on getting healthy, in peace, without all of the "pray for you" stuff that permeates SP.

I used to be shy about telling people of my atheism. Then, I found out, that people are accepting of it, except for my southern fundamentalist Christian relatives, who call me a "heath-urn".

I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, too.

If you're interested, we have an ongoing challenge, 2010 WIN. People can opt in and out of it, a week or month at a time or stay in it all year. Check it out. We choose our own weekly goals, which can be behavior change or weight loss.

We also have a virtual "stay sexy" gym you might like.

Hi Sheila and Welcome Back!

Balance is the key to all things. And it's something I think we all strive for. I'm with you both on that one.

Best wishes on your healthy new journey!

Lala, Exactly! It's so freeing and there is so much information out there. I have to remember to keep it all in balance. Glad I'm not the only one this has happened to.

Hi there! Welcome to this team, too! The Sep team and the LAH team have sort of become sister teams this year, which I love! A lot of members mix up between both.

I know what you mean about getting all obsessed when you first realize that you don't believe any longer. You almost need to validate yourself at first, I guess. I jumped head first into skeptic and freethinker activism for a year or two, but then realized that I needed to get some balance and get healthy.

Welcome!

Hi, I'm Sheila and I was in this group a few years back but left Spark for a bit. What happened was I learned about and discovered Atheism back then starting with the DYBIG thread and then this group. I really credit all that to changing my life. (Well my formerly Catholic life anyway). I ended up leaving Spark after a while because I got so into learning about Atheism that I neglected the weight loss part and felt guilty (like I didn't have enough guilt being raised a Catholic?) for just learning and growing in my unbelief. The conversations were so stimulating.

Now I am back to lose the weight and have finally admitted to my husband and kids that I am an Atheist. I hope to be able to come out to everyone else soon, but as I am sure some of you know, that can be very difficult. I am getting my Atheist fix in several places now so I am ready to get motivated to get rid of this excess weight as well as having some great discussions. I hope we can get to know each other.
