Welcome, Cheddarfish!
We also are major writers... keeping up with this group can seem daunting if you don't pop in regularly. Carry on, my wayward pose!
See you in the other threads!

This is a very supportive group. Let me or us know if you have questions...

That's the modern one. It has older ties with different goals at the top. One of the asian ones is essentially, "The fastest way to enlightenment is to start your own religion."

Everything old is new again. However most people attribute the millionaire quote to Hubbard in modern times. Mainly because he opened up his mouth publicly *A LOT* and tended to ensure that reporters and the like could freely quote him on anything he said.

Best way to become a millionnaire is to start your own religion (who am I quoting?).

This team DOES have a great free-spirited group. You'll find lively discussions where you can add your two cents (we won't ask for MONEY, just opinions). Enjoy!

Welcome. It is unfortunate that your church had to show it some of it's truer colors.

There a million ways to find comfort and community that dont involve someone holding out their hand. In my experiences with Scouting and other travels, I've found some of the best funded churches never ask. The people there simply give to help ensure they all have/had a place to get closer to things.

You might find some of us a bit too anti-religion, but I think you'll see that we're not lacking in our understanding and compassion. :)

Glad to see people do come back to SP and not with disdain. That is one common thread I keep seeing with people over and over again. It's rarely negative. Simply, "I fell off the SP bandwagon" or "I'm back and see now just how much SP helped me." Versus some things I see about other sites. "The ads were overwhelming." "No community, too much criticism." "All the features I needed cost too much and never worked right."

Ooops, long welcome with side track.

Hope we can help you on your renewed efforts.

I joined SP in June 08 but fell out of it around September 08. I'm back now stronger than ever as of October 20th.

In February 2006 I officially left the Roman Catholic church of which I had been raised in but non participating for the 3 or 4 years prior and joined the Unitarian Universalist Church. I admit I really love learning about religion and thought I'd found the perfect place. We got married in our UU church in January 07 but about 6 months after I was even frustrated with the constant sermons on how poor the church was and how we needed to give more money. It was less about community and giving of our physical being/talents.

I strive to remain open minded and considerate but I'm glad there's a place I can vent when it gets overwhelming for me even!

Edit: I wanted to add. I've found a lot of other teams that I was interested in just weren't active. I loved that when I checked this group out the posts were relevant and the group seems motivational! Looking forward checking it out more!
