Well, before I decided to get 'on track', I had THE WORST eating habits ever. My family would go out to eat several times a week, I'd eat nothing but junk food and I drank very little water.

At first I restricted my calories, but I wasn't really a fan of that. I bought a pair of rollerblades and a pilates dvd and that was how I started out. I now have a gym membership and work out 4-5x a week, although now that I've lost so much.. it's much harder to lose!!

Hi, Kara.

Welcome, I'm new too : ) I'm trying to lose at least 40 lbs and I see you've already lost about 40...what kind of changes did you make in your life to lose those 40lbs. How often do you exercise and for how long?

Well hello! I'm not really sure what I should post here, but I felt inclined to introduce myself to the team.

As far as the basics go, I'm Kara : 18 (almost 19) years old, female, living in Wisconsin. I'm 5 foot 3 and at one time weighed 180 pounds.

I'm currently hanging out at about 140 lbs. .. but don't worry, I've been doing this the healthy way! I realized, when I hit 180 lbs, that I needed to make a serious lifestyle change. I quit drinking soda and started making healthier food and portion choices. Throw in some exercise and voila! You've got me, 40 lbs lighter.

When I first started, I had an 'ultimate goal weight' which was 115. All I know now is that I want to be happy and feel comfortable with myself, so that's where I'm trying to go.

I've heard good things about this website but am currently overwhelmed at the amount of resources I have here! I definitely need to do some digging, but so far... I'm lovin it here :)
