I joined the spark in Feb. 2006 to lose ~10-15 lbs for my wedding, which I did! After that I stopped coming by until Aug. 2010 when I wanted to get more energy and lose some of the baby weight. I kept at it for about 2 years and lost nearly 30 pounds and almost 20 inches overall, then upon reaching my goal I started slacking on my tracking and exercising and gained 20 lbs back. Then I was blessed a 3rd child and now I am back up to the weight I was at when I came back in Aug. 2010. I lost the weight once, I am sure I can do it again this time making a permanent lifestyle change so I can keep it off!

I joined SparkPeople on February 25, 2006. I've been losing and gaining the same 10 lbs since then. I'm finally committed to losing the weight and everything that goes along with it. Currently I have around 90 lbs to lose.

I joined SparkPeople on February 3, 2006. I came across it as a mention on a site I use to frequent at the time and was happy to find it. I wasn't really ready and committed to the program and set it aside for a while. Then in February of 2008 I really got real about where I was headed with my weight and took real action and went from 229 - 145. I have gone up and down some from that time but have stayed active here. I am so thankful to have found such a wonder place of resources and friends that have helped me acheive my goal.

No one can do it for me - I have to do it for myself!!
Slow and steady wins the race.

I joined SP also in Feb. of 2006. I tried losing it off and on. Now I have lost half the weight I was aiming for which was 20 out of 40 pounds. I lost it in 3 months, because I was working. Now I am aiming to lose the rest. My goal is to get to 125 to 135. I am now 154. I know I can do it, even though I am not working anymore. I just get bored real easily. Anyways, I am Alicia and a mom to a girl and a boy under 4. Nice to meet you all.

It takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends to notice, & 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. Give it 12 weeks! DON'T QUIT!!

I joined Spark People in February 2006, set up my goals, and then promptly dropped out and didn't think about it again until now. Now I'm ready to start again...today is my third day, and I'm doing well. The motivation is really helpful. Even though my family's health habits (eating, sleeping, exercise, and everything else!) could use a major overhaul, I'm the only one actually *doing* anything positive at the moment. When I'm more secure in what I'm doing, I'll influence them, but for now I'm alone in this struggle...well, me and a gazillion Spark People, apparently!

So, while I don't get credit for "sticking with it for two years," I do get credit for picking myself up, dusting myself off, and starting again. Like the tortise and the hare, slow and steady will win my race...I must just keep trying, and never give up! emoticon
