emoticon to the team!
I too joined the team for support in my efforts to prevent type 1 diabetes. I was literally scared healthy. So far, I have been able to keep my sugars under control through diet and exercise.
I do run low at times now, which is a change, but not much better. Still working on the balance.
Best wishes as you continue to pursue your goals. emoticon

I am glad that you have taken on the leadership of this team. Reading your background was similar to reading my own. I do agree that it can be controlled. It is a special challenge which will always need to be monitored, although symptoms can be resolved. In my case, I went from a textbook case to being asymtomatic. I no longer need my medication, and my sugars have remained level. I am, lately, again experiencing hypoglgemia aggravated by exercise, and the escalating anxiety. I haven't dealt with this since discontinuing my meds, so it is something I am watching.
Looking forward to getting to know you better, and learning more about living with IR. emoticon

A little about me: I'm a 30 something mom with a BA in Psychology who is on a never ending quest to beat Insulin Resistance. I didn't start gaining a lot of weight until my early 20's when my Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOS) came to an ugly head. At that time I gained about 80 lbs. in one year! Most doctors weren't familiar with PCOS or Insulin Resistance back then so I wasn't actually diagnosed with IR until about 4 years ago.I am currently taking 2000-2500 mg of Metformin per day. I hope to be supportive to you all and that we can fight this disease together! emoticon emoticon
