I have ridden it once. 150 miles two years ago would have been unheard of for me. But now it is a walk in the park.

Well March is good weather for Florida. We basically only have three months of cold weather down here. Cold being under 50 during the day.

That's great! How many times have you done this ride? My older sister has MS & has been wheelchair bound for a number of years now. Sometimes I have a hard time trying to decide which charity event to work with. There are so many really worthy causes that require research & patient support funds.
What's the weather like there in March? With all of the S N O W I've seen all over the States, I can't imagine good riding weather in March. It's been gorgeous here the past few days with rain threatening to settle in today. We rarely get the white stuff & when we do, it's often gone the same day. Nothing like what I've seen in the news all over the eastern half of the continent.
Have somebody take some pix you can post of your event.

Have a great ride!!! emoticon

I do the MS150 from Jacksonville to Daytona and back in March. You have to raise $150 to participate. It is a nice ride going to Daytona and hell coming back because of headwinds. It is generally 15 to 20 mph winds hitting you in the face.

But a great ride all round.

I'm curious to see if there are other cyclists here that ride in Charity events. By that, I mean that you're actually doing some fundraising for a charity & not just paying the Registration fees (which I know go to sponsoring charities as well).

I am currently training & fundraising for the AIDS/LifeCycle Ride which is in it's 10th year. It's a 545 mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles! I've done one Century & this is going to be completely different ~ a week long, fully supported ride.

The weather hasn't been great for outdoor riding so I've been cross training all winter in the gym & with volleyball. I've only really been riding since mid-2009. I would welcome training tips and fundraising ideas from other cyclists, trainers, fundraisers.

I live in Canada & am completely on my own with training for this event. There aren't any other AIDS/LifeCycle riders in my city. And all of the Group events are happening in SanFran & L.A.

I look forward to reading your feedback. emoticon
