Oh you brave soul. I have heard stories about RAGBRI that would curl you hair. I don't do well in crowds at all. I'll stick to the smaller rides for now. I can't help with the vegan diet, but can recommend trying spin classes in the winter. Or get a trainer and put your bike on it. DH and I spin in the cold months (which in central Alabama is usually just Feb).


One Day at a Time:
1) walk/ride 30 minutes
2) organize something in my home
3) fruit or veggie with each meal
4) sew 1 bobbin full
5) make someone smile

I am a sparks returnee.and a bicycling addict. My addiction started last spring with a Bianchi Giro purchase, was at its peak mid July with RAGBRAI (ride across Iowa--60 to 105 miles a day for a week) and seems to be slowing down as I fell below 100 miles last week. I enjoy riding but I also fly fish and am trying VERY hard to go from a fish eating vegetarian to a vegan. but on top of all that I REALLY want to lose 15 lbs, I am still 15 lower than when I re-started sparks last spring but have put on 5 Lbs this month. So I thought I better get back on-board especially since I can't see myself riding 2 hours a day in below freezing temps--an Iowa inevitability.
