Hi Andy. You must be currently logging fitness minutes and such because I noticed your spark points and minutes on the Cyclists Anonymous Team (email) digest this week. I don't think anyone, besides you and I, on this team is active right now as they are not logging any fitness minutes.

That being said, I would invite you to join a very, very active SparkTeam for cyclists. Cycling - Road, Mountain, Fun, Racing. www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_i
nd
ividual.asp

I think you would enjoy them a lot. As I said, they are active, with many posts about cycling every day. Your posts will be read and answered there. If you are more interested in a small team you would be welcome to finish our virtual Trans America bike tour at the Across the United States SparkTeam. If you are interested, let me know and I'll catch you up on what we are doing.

I think the idea of this sparkteam is great and indicates how addictive this wonderful sport is, but not too many have found it and no one is keeping it active. Too Bad.

Hope to see you around. Patty

How do I get one of those cool little weight tracker things that everyone else seems to have? I've looked everywhere and can't find where to add it.

Thanks,
Andy

Rode 15 miles today and I'm feeling it now. My husband was not intested on being on the road the whole time, so we did some on paved walkways.

Hello all,
I'm renewing my love for biking. I'm 42 and introduced my husband to biking around 5 years ago and he LOVES it. He agreed to do the MS Bike to the shore in September with his brother 70+ miles. In preparation we have a 31 miler on 7/6/08 I agreed to do that with him.

I'm interested in buying a road bike (currently have a mountain bike Trek from 10+ years ago). I'm also toying with commuting the 7 miles to work. I'm alittle scared bc DE has all highway like roads (50mph). Any thoughts/tips on commuting would be helpful.

I think we are going out tomorrow and Sunday. At least that's the plan.
thanks
Julie

Hey everyone!

I'm Willis. I'm 29, husband to an amazing wife, and father to the coolest 2 yr old in the world!
I enjoy riding bikes for pretty much any reason. I commute to and from work on bike as much as I can. I love mountain biking! The more extreme the better!

That sounds like a fun ride. We always get stuck touring po-dunk towns. But it's a good ride for a good cause!

Cool. My bike club here does the MS150 as well. Its a good cause and a ton of fun. Here we ride from just outside Nashville to the Jack Daniels Distillery. Always a good even to participate in.

I do ride when I can. Ride now we still have about 10 inches of snow on the ground. That being said...I've seen a few intreped souls out riding. Not for me Brrr!
I lead a weekly bike ride for one of the local bike shops in town. I also lead long rides from time to time for our MS150 team www.teamroadrash.org

I purchased a Trek 1100. Currently I'm riding about 5 days a week depending on weather, work and family. I am usually able to get in a one hour ride at lunch 4 days out of 5 during the week. Then on weekends normally get in a long ride or two. How long, depends on the family.

The long rides range from 30 to 80 miles depending on time.

How about you? Do you ride?

Hi Andy,
What kind of road bike did you purchase? When do you ride? How far? How often?

I am scared to death of mt. bikes!

Hello.

I'm Andy. I'm trying to lose around 30 lbs by my birthday August 16. I'll be 40. I've slimmed down 20 lbs, put a little back on over the holidays now I'm headed on down to 165, currently at 195.

I've always like to ride. I've had a Mountain bike just about always, but just purchased a new road bike last April after being away from it for 10 or so years.

I'm married. Have two great boys 10 and 5 and a great wife as well. :-) I live in Nashville, TN.
