Larissa - I think for the most part we all "look" fine. It's just that you can't see inside our brains to see what is going on there that makes us "freak out" from time to time! I know I look perfectly normal and when I think of having to go to work - instant panic attack about dealing with people and bosses and arrrgh!

Kat: I hope I don't have to worry about it. I'm doing well for the most part, but I can't even volunteer once a week without freaking out, I look fine, but looks are deceiving.

Erin one more hello and welcome to the group.

Larissa, you shouldn't have to worry about SSDI until you start earning a substantial gainful income for several months and an extended work plan will give you more time to try out working.

*hugs* Welcome! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Come join us in the November chat!

bit about me- bipolar 1 and schizophrenia. I am on disability and I'm so scared that I'm going to lose it since I'm doing a lot better. I just have to wait.

Hi Erin! I too live in Colorful Colorado! I am happy to see you on the team! I quit smoking myself 4 years ago and I quit drinking way before that but sure used to use it to self medicate! I am an ultra rapid cycler and flip moods faster than most people change clothes! LOL About every 3-4 days!

Hi Im Erin, im new to this board been on sparkpeople for awhile, sometimes I do great then I seem to hit a rough patch and forget all about it. I am 42 and have been diagnosed BP for 20 years and recently social anxiety. I used to self medicate with drinking and smoking but have now stopped and put on new meds. I rejoined 2 months ago and started out with a huge bang and lost 10 lbs, be believe I was on a manic high, and now ive come off of it im having a lot of trouble cause I am turning to food as a comfort. Havent weighed myself in a month to afraid to get back on the scale.
My ultimate goal is to lose 60lbs but trying to break that up into smaller goals like 5lbs at a time. Right now in a bad place and and get the motivation to go out and exercise and am eating mainly at night after doing really well all day.
I live in Colorado and have twin boys who both left for college in August. Im really open about my illness cause for years I lost a lot of people in my life cause they couldn't understand me and why I did things for years. I currently don't have a lot of friends and get pretty lonely.
Im hoping by joining I can get support and encouragement to make the right food and exercise choices
