Welcome, Mel. I've found this to be a great support group and hope you find it to be the same. Thanks for reaching out to us.

Be kind. For every person you know is fighting a hard battle. -Plato

I would rather be ashes than dust. I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor - every atom of me in a magnificent glow - than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time. - Jack London

My nickname is Mel. I've had bipolar 2 since I was 19 years old. It seems to be changing now that I'm in my 30's. More irrational hypervigilant, moods and depression. When I was first diagnosed I was hypomanic for weeks on top of the world pulling 3-4 all nightdress a week (but I was in college). Now I've had to move back in with my parents (very long s itory) and I'm usually in a super great mood until about 1pm then I get anxious then by 4pm I'm horribly depressed. I'm on quite a few meds. Mood stabilizers don't work so well for me but antipsychotics seem to. I won't go though the list. I also have insomnia. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep but usually I wake up alot during the night and wake finally anywhere between 2-4:30am. I could really just use some support from people who understand what it's like to go through the ups and downs and everything inbetween. emoticon

It is what it is, or is it?

Tough times don't last, TOUGH PEOPLE DO.

The word impossible is not in my dictionary.

Be curious about what life will bring
