Hello Stephen! I'm new here, too, so we can be n00bs together. I think I am opposite you, as I spend most of my time on the "low" end of the spectrum. But my thoughts always race so I can totally relate to that, and to feeling alienated by the so-called "normal" people! I've been nosing around the team page and it seems like there's a great batch of people here, so hopefully we'll be able to really provide each other some good support and feedback.

Hi Stephen!! Welcome to both Spark and the team! You mentioned that you suffer from BP1 you know what? I have never been diagnosed as 1 or the other! I too, have been suffering highs with no real lows. How curious...I have really been feeling symptoms of hypo-mania and don't suffer sleepless nights as you and many others do. I thank God for that! Check out our February general chat thread- it will be great to have you join our conversation!
Again, welcome!!
HAPPY SPARKING!

Hello, I am very glad to find this site as I am looking to get back in shape and feel "better" about myself. I am diagnosed as BP 1 although i can't say i really have any real severe "downs'. My problems have always stemmed from my highs which led to working outrageous hours. Staying up days on end with only a couple of hours of sleep feeling just wired. Racing thoughts, rapid speech, and way too much impulsive behavior.(textbook, I know) Also, the irritating fact that anyone normal couldn't stay up with me, ya know? Anyway, a lot more to all that but i think for now i will stay with the present. Right now I'm currently working on 2 years or so on learning/maintaining my BP1 status. The meds took some time to get straight but we are weening out two and replacing with one. The hardest part of all this BP is noticing or catching all the small things that trigger a mood. I've become aware of my rapid speech, irritability, and hyper activity. I've also cut out certain music, foods.(which stinks) but it still bothers me when my BP1 feels like it "controls" me even with all my "safeguards" up. Anyway, I'm very glad to be here and look forward to hearing from everyone.
