Hi Jamie and welcome to the team! We're an active close-knit team! Feel free to jump into any thread that interests you. Looking forward to getting to know u too. We're all bipolar to some extent and degree. SOme of us also suffer from other diagnoses. Yes, we all know too about the meds and how they can make u feel and how it is often harder to lose weight. I know first hand. I'm on Seroquel--infamous for weight gain. If u ever have a question or need a little encouragement, the best place to post is, "ask the team for help" and whoever is on will surely get back to u. It seems as though there's always someone on. If u have any questions, feel free to ask. Myself and Kim are the leaders of the team so feel free to look us up. Definately looking forward to hearing from you and getting to know you.

Myself, I was diagnosed at age 18 and I'm now 37. I've been on the bipolar rollercoaster for all those years. I have been on a ton of meds but I am now on a good cocktail, I think, but we are tweeking meds a bit at the moment. In Feb, my Celexa is going to be decreased so we'll see how that goes. My Buspar was just discontinued and that was fine. I'm on Seroquel, like I said, which I guess is supposed to be a "catch all" for bipolar, depression, anxiety, and other things they've diagnosed me with. So, I may end up just on that and Klonopin. That would be a huge reduction from the 7 meds i'm on now.

So, take your time, browse around and post whenever u get a chance!

Best wishes and emoticon

Courtney

Hey all! My name is Jamie, and I have been living with bipolar disorder for quite some time. It makes losing weight, staying active, and staying motivated very difficult, as I'm sure you all know. I've set a goal for myself to lose 100 pounds in 1 year, and I am determined to do it. I'm hoping that this team will become a place I can turn to for support when I need it, and also a place where I can help lift up other people as well when they need it. Looking forward to getting to know you all! xoxo
