Hello Everyone!!

Hope all is WOWWY!!
I am a mother of a rambunctious soon to be 5 year old little man! He's my world and is my inspiration for changing our lives. I'm 32 years old and have been at it for 12 years with no success. I've tried many temporary fixes and have used SP prior.

June 1st 2017 I went to Dr's and weighed in at 300lbs... not my heaviest (330 post baby 2012). Still not were I want to be. My goal is to lose 100 pounds by my 33rd birthday June 29 2018. Since then I'm down 18lbs and going!!

My son is only going to get more active and I want to enjoy with him; BE part of the memories, just not THERE for them! HE DESERVES IT!! (and so do I!) He's apart of mommy's "shrinking"... he eats whatever I cook for my lifestyle change, and can have whatever he likes as well... he ask to exercise and go for walks... I must say, he is the greatest! Healthy living fits my lifestyle even with a toddler, thanks to Boom Boom!! emoticon

Hi everyone! I just had my daughter 2 and a half weeks ago. I want to get back to my prepregnancy weight or better, even if my shape is a little different now. I'm not cleared to work out or really diet yet, since birth was so recent. So I am starting out by trying to drink my 8 glasses of water and by practicing recording what I eat. I'm hoping this will put me in the habit of those 2 things so when I get the all clear, I won't have to really "think" about doing them anymore and can focus on other stuff.

My name is Haley and I am back after being off spark for 6 years. I was at my heaviest adult weight of 205 before joining weight watchers a few weeks ago and losing 10 lbs so far.
I need as much support as I can get. When I was on here in my 20s I had SO much free time compared to now! I was able to be selfish with my life. And now, I don't have that luxury. Life is BUSY as a full-time working mom of two.

I really need an accountability buddy, and would love any support I can get!

I'm a mom of three little ones, and I have a lot of weight to lose. My hands are so full, I have no idea how I am going to make it work, other than to slowly incorporate healthier habits. In an ideal world, I'll lose 5 pounds a week, lol, but I know that would take some huge changes. Hopefully though, I can lose at least one-two pounds a week.

Just one day at a time. :) Just one day at a time.

My goal is to eventually lose 80 pounds. I'm lost on how to do it. Life is really hard right now, but I HAVE to start taking off this weight. I was heavy. Then, I had oral steroids four times in the last few months and ballooned up. It sucks. :(

Just one day at a time. :) Just one day at a time.

Hi everyone! I'm a SAHM to two wonderful kiddos, one is 2 and the other is just going on 4 months. With my first I gained 35 pounds then lost 67. I gained 44 of it back during pregnancy #2 and I am ONE POUND away from hitting my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm hoping to lose another 30 to 35 pounds and set a healthy example for my family.

Hi, I'm Christina. I have two boys, Gavin who's 5, and Jackson who's 9 months. I didn't gain a lot of weight with either pregnancy but gained a lot after Gavin. I was in a bad car accident 19 days after Jackson was born. I still cannot really work out due to my injuries.

Hi all - my name is Alison. I'm joining this group because I'm looking to find some friends who can relate!

I have a son who is a year old now. For the last four months or so, something has been weighing heavily on my mind. I want to show my son a healthy, adventurous life - one that flows in harmony with the nature and the outdoors. I recognize the only way I can accomplish that (which is just one vision I have for my future and my son's future) is to get back to being healthy and active myself.

I hope I can make some friends here who have a similar affinity for adventures and the outdoors. I hope I can connect with other moms who may be able to share with me what works best for them about managing their personal health and wellness, how they make adventures and activities part of their everyday routines, and I'd really love some advice on what ways there are to incorporate healthy meal habits into our regular routines.

Physically speaking, ideally I will lose 55 pounds and keep it off eventually. While I want to be healthy, the individual pounds are not my main focus. I do believe losing this weight will come with me incorporating more activity and more healthy eating options into my lifestyle.

So yeah, hi there!

live well. be kind.

Hi all. I am in a similar boat to slim4life. (I'm also struggling in the 180s). I gained a lot of weig during my pregnancy. Most came off, but I am starting to struggle. I have about 10 lbs to go to my pre pregnancy weight and 30 to my goal weight.

I have an 8 month old son and a wife. I'm still breastfeeding, but I'm finding it hard to make time for serious workouts with all the baby juggling.

I am going back to work in feb. I would like to be down to 170 by then (about 15 lbs). My ultimate goal is 150-155.

Hi all! I'm new to the Team here and thought I'd introduce myself!
I've been a long-time member of SP and like many have been struggling with my weight for years now. I've lost and gained the same 20 pounds and never made it to goal. But I'm not giving up!
I am a mom to a wonderful 3-year-old boy. Married, two fur pets too (dog and cat). I thought this would be a great group to join- looking for fellow mid-30s moms who have similar weight-loss goals.
Currently weighing around 190 and my goal is 150. I'm really struggling with the 180s right now. I got down to 181 a few months ago and voila, gained again and just frustrated. But, new mini goals and hoping this month to see some progress.

New Starting Weight (January 2016): 199.4

Mini-Goal Weight: 179

I'm the new team leader. My name is Amy, and I'm 29 years old. My son is about a year and a half, and I've been married for almost 4 years. My goal is to lose 90 (now 88) pounds before my 30th birthday! I'll need to average 2 pounds a week, but I'm determined to get there :)

Hi! My name is Nikki, I'm a mum to 6 year old identical triplets girls and have just had a little boy 6 weeks ago. I was already around 30lbs overweight when I became pregnant and now I've had my little boy i've added another 10lbs onto that. It's nice to find a group of people who share the same circumstances, I also had a C-section so not too sure about how much I can do and what I should be doing to lose the weight but safely.

I look forward to seeing us all accomplish our goals and become super fit mummies!

I'm a 30 year old woman who is lucky enough to have been married to my amazing husband for almost 11 years. I've been blessed with 2 children (boy and a girl) and am currently living in southern Kentucky.
As of right now, I'm weighing in at 100 lbs over a healthy weight for my height. It's so hard for me to write that because quite frankly, it's embarrassing that I've allowed myself to go this far. I've made excuses...heck, I'm pretty sure that I'm the Queen of the Excuses, but at the end of the day, I have absolutely no one to blame except for myself.
My goals is to simply exercise daily and to eat within my calorie limits. My hope is to lose all 100 lbs by January of 2017. But most importantly, I pray that I begin a healthy lifestyle. I'm so tired of being...tired.
I can't wait to meet you all and watch you accomplish all of your goals along this journey!

Hello!

My name is Tiffany, from Hawai'i, and about to be a new mom to a baby girl! I am so very excited for this to happen!

I've always been overweight. The lowest I can remember myself at was 225 and that was about a year and a half ago when I first met me husband. I remember being a lot more confident in myself even though I wanted to lose another 50lbs. Well, I'm not at my heaviest (though I blame that on miss Aryana in my stomach lol). Once I get the okay from the doctor, I want to go full steam ahead. I start school the same week my daughter is due ( I can do it! ) so I will have a lot to juggle. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom so I have no excuses not to lose the weight!

I hope to make a lot of friends here, find inspiration, and eventually be inspiration! We can do this moms!

Aloha,
Tiffany!

Hello,
My name is Emily, 25, and my husband and I are expecting our first son, Lucas, in the next 2 months. I plan on taking off for about 12 weeks to spend time with my new baby boy, but also to have some time to myself and take care of me as well. I have always been up and down on weight...always somewhere between 150lbs and 250 lbs. Currently at 7.5 months pregnant I weigh 235 lbs (yikes!) and want to get down to a healthy/fit 125-145 lbs. within the next 18 months after he is born. I joined this group for tips and support, as well as inspiration! Good luck to all of you!

Hello,
My name is Jenny. I'm a 26 year old, first time mommy to a wonderful, almost 7 week old baby boy, Easton. I just started back at work the Monday before Thanksgiving and want to start getting back into shape. I had a C-section so have that little pooch above my scar, that I obviously want gone! I've never had a tight and toned belly, but I just want to be comfortable in my own skin and feel good about myself too!

Hello!!!

I'm a 29 year old woman who has been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years. God has blessed us with 2 children. Our son who is 9 and our daughter who is 1. We live in the southern part of Kentucky, but I was born and raised in a small, farming community about 45 min out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

I've always had a hard time with my weight. I always hoped I would grow out of my whole "chunky" stage and I did...just not the way that I was hoping. I grew right out of my "chunky" stage into my current "obese" stage. As of right now, I need to lose around 110 lbs to get to a healthy BMI. Huge task, but with my family's support, you all cheering me on, and God helping me, I know that I can do this!

Feel free to stop by my page and introduce yourself. Also feel free to add me to your friends. I can't wait to meet all of you and to watch you guys not only meet your goals, but bust through them!

My name is Melissa and I have a new baby girl that will be 3 months old on October 29th. I actually didn't gain a lot during my pregnancy (28lbs) but I'm having a hard time keeping track of my eating and losing the last little bit. I did it all on spark once before, dropping from a 18 to a 6 and maintaining a healthy BMI for 3 years before getting pregnant. So now I'm back, looking for some more new mom friends to do this with me. I do not like going to my closet and not being able to fit into most everything, and I want to be able to keep up with my daughter as she grows and becomes a fast paced toddler. I figure if I can lose the last bit and a tad more, I will be in great shape, be healthier for my daughter, and feel better about myself. (I had some postpartum depression for about 8 weeks too.) So friend me, message me, and let's do this together. :-)
Side note: it took two hours to do this post. ;-) My how time flies when you have a new baby.

Hi everyone! I'm Tiffany and I am 35 years old. I just had our first baby on April 10th this year. I have PCOS and Endo, and was told that I wouldn't get pregnant without A LOT of help. My fiance has beaten Leukemia 3 times and was told he would never father a child biologically. 5 days before our first appointment at the fertility clinic, we found out we were pregnant and did it on our own! So she is truly a blessing!

But I gained a lot of weight throughout this pregnancy. So with our wedding coming up in less than a year, I'm not going to look like this when we get married. So September 26, 2015 is my due date! Time for things to get real! Let's do this ladies!!!

It's about me, and just me! Loving myself and wanting to feel better inside and out!

I just had my 4th & final child Oct 2014, and I would really love to finally get back into shape. I was in great shape before my first son and have never gotten back to that. My challenges are: a husband who has zero time to exercise and loves to eat as much as I do, 4 wild kids & their homework/activities/etc., and misc. volunteer positions which take up a lot of time that I need to step back from a little bit. I have 25 lbs. I would love to lose, but more than anything I want to feel good and look lean!

My name is Tiffany and I'm a Mommy to a BEAUTIFUL baby girl named Ava Anuhea. I have PCOS and had an extremely hard time conceiving. I lost almost 40 pounds and got pregnant.I had an AMAZING pregnancy but gained lots of weight. Now that my baby girl is here, I have no drive or motivation to lose weight. My name is Kimber. I am 5 weeks postpartum with my second baby. I have an almost 3 year old little boy and a 5 week old baby girl. I plan to start working out and eating clean or as close to clean as I can in 2 weeks. I am very excited to get into a routine. :)

With my first I gained 40 lbs. I lost most all of it and some within a year. Then I gained weight back. I got pregnant with my second and gained 25 lbs. I have a goal to get down to 140. I don't care how long it takes as long as I get there. :)

Hey! I have a three year old son who is just as sweet as can be. After I had him I weighed 186 pounds. I dieted, worked hard, and dropped down to 140 pounds by the time he was 8 months old. BUT those pounds have crept back up on me. My weight is now around 160, and I just really want to be able to fit into the huge amount of clothes I have put away! I haven't been able to fit in them in over two years! I think its time to be able to put them back on and feel great about myself!

My name is Heather. I am a mommy to our 15 month old. I was overweight before I got pregnant. I was one of the few and very fortunate women who had a smooth pregnancy with little weight gain (even though I didnt watch what I ate. I paid close attention to my body and what it was telling me it needed. For some reason (my doctors couldn't figure out why) I lost all the baby weight plus an additional 15 lbs. right after having him. My doctor did warn me that the weight can come back just as quickly as it fell off. I can tell that the weight is coming back and I vowed to myself and my hubby that I would never go back over 200 lbs. I am doing this to be healthier for me and my family. Keeping up with a VERY ACTIVE 15 month old is physically demanding and exhausting!

Hello all! My name is Laurie and I am a first time Mommy to a beautiful four month baby girl. While I was pregnant I was hit with gestational diabetes. It really shocked me and I was put on a strict diet. The great thing about the diet was that I gained very little weight and was feeding my unborn baby healthy foods. The bad thing was that once I had her, I went back to my old eating habits. Lets just say I made up for the 9 months where I couldn't have cookies, ice cream and pasta!

I am currently the weight that I was were I was 9 months pregnant. I am extremely disappointed in myself and can't even face mirrors.

But I signed up to Spark last Monday and so far I am loving it! I am slowly getting my body back and made a promise to not live the way I was (eating 3 donuts in one sitting!). I hope to make friends here and get some motivation!

My name is Heather and I am a first-time mom to my sweet daughter, who is 4 weeks old. I know that I need to give myself time for my body to recover from pregnancy and birth, but I am ready to jump on the exercise train once my doc gives me the green light (hopefully next week).

I'm looking forward to the support that this team can offer, and getting down to a healthy weight. I was overweight when I got pregnant, and gained 25 pounds during pregnancy (16 of which has come off - yay breastfeeding!). I am looking to lose about 25 to 30 pounds more as of today, but am really more interested in being healthy, fit, and feeling good about myself again.

Hi I'm in my late 30's with 2 beautiful kids. I lost my baby weight but it's slowly creeping back so I'm trying to get a handle on things before it goes too far. I already feel sluggish and miserable from inactivity and bad eating habits. I'm definitely looking for tips and support!

Hello everyone! I'm a 29 year old woman who has been married for 10 years. We have been blessed with 2 children, a 9 year old son and a 1 year old daughter. I've always been on the "chunky" side, but after giving birth to my son, I gained a lot of weight. It wasn't until after giving birth to my daughter that I weighed my heaviest...220 lbs. I was shocked that I had allowed myself to get like this. Shocked and disgusted. I've now lost 15 lbs, but I know that I have a very long road ahead of me. Can't wait to meet you all!

Hi, I'm Artesia I'm 31 and I just had my first child four months ago. My goal is to lose the 40 lbs I put on for pregnancy plus an additional 25 I wanted to lose prior to becoming pregnant. Since having a child I don't feel like myself and I know this extra weight has a lot to do with that.

Hi All,
My name is Erin and I am mama to 2 beautiful girls ages 7 and 9 weeks! Before baby#2 I had used Sparkpeople and lost over 40lbs. Unfortunately, I slacked and gained it all back plus some more :(... so here I am starting over and hoping to lose 50+ lbs and stick with it this time.

Hi, my name is Rachel and I just had my second child 6 weeks ago. Before I got pregnant, I had about 120 lbs to lose. I lost exactly half of that, but pregnancy caused me to gain back about 40 of what I had lost. So now I have 100 lbs to lose to meet my long term goal. I'm super excited because I have the confidence that I can do this, and have the motivation of wanting to be able to keep up with my children.

Hello everyone! I'm a little ahead of the curve here. I'm due June 26th and packed on quite a bit of weight too early in my pregnancy. So now I'm trying to maintain and gain slowly. Once I have my bundle of joy though, I am hoping to get back down to my healthy weight which is about 5 pounds less than when I got pregnant.

Hoping with some support from other moms, this first-time mom won't fall into bad habits.

Hi everyone,

My name is Cherrie, I'm 28 and I just gave birth to my first child about 5 weeks ago. He's a great little boy. :) I had gained a lot of weight while pregnant but I was mostly baby. I only have 6 lbs to lose to be back at pre baby weight. But I had a goal to lose 30 pounds before getting pregnant. I want to lose the little bit of extra weight as well as the extra and gain back my confidence and to just live healthier lifestyle as well as teach him to be healthier as well.

Hi ladies.
My name us Renee and I am a mama to 2 beautiful girls ages 3 and 9 months. I used to hover around the 170-175 pound mark but with the first I managed to get back down to 183 and with the last pregnancy I hit 223 lbs! Ahhh, I had the baby and dropped to 200 and have been plugging away and am at about 192 right now. My ultimate goal is to get to 155 as my comfort/ easy weight of the past wasn't that healthy either. I am a 15 year cancer survivor and would love to be a fit and healthy 16 year cancer survivor by my birthday in August!

Hello everyone! I'm Ebony!!!!!! I have been on spark since 2008 and had great success in the past. I had a baby this past July 2013 and I am ready to get myself together. I lost a ton of my baby weight in the first 6 weeks & kept it off by doing nothing healthy. But then I came back work work in October 2013 and put on 10 pounds. So I have some weight to drop but I also just would like to get things back to where they used to be lol Keep in touch! I am always looking for another sparkbuddy!!!

EEGREEN I completely feel your pain LOL. Went away with relative ease with my first and second child...but the third's pregnancy weight is just fighting the urge to leave my body and let me back into my skinny jeans. I miss them. :(

My name is Christina. Mother of three beautiful girls, 12, 4, and 17months. As a result, I have TONS of pregnancy weight to still lose that is being more stubborn than I want. *laughs.* But I lost my pregnancy weight before while here with Sparkpeople. I can do it again. :)

Hi everyone! My name is Jacki and I'm the proud mom of an almost one year old boy, Logan! I need to get back on the healthy train, so one of my goals for 2014 is to lose the rest of my baby weight (20 pounds!) by June 30th! I'm a working mom and my husband works crazy hours, so getting to the gym is really difficult. I'm hoping this team will keep me motivated and get me moving in the right direction!

Hi Everyone! It's my last year in my 20's and I need to do something for me! I have 2 beautiful babies, a 2 year old boy and a 9 month old little girl. I want to raise healthy children.. they are already beautiful.. but I don't want them to see mommy and daddy being unhealthy and think it's ok.. I want to look like the person I feel that I am.. and stop second guessing myself.. I would love to make friends, receive advice, give a few back and make the most of all of this! Best wishes to everyone and I can't wait to see where this ride takes me xo

I'm 31 years old and have an 11 month old son. While I've lost most of the baby weight, I know my muscle/fat ratio is way different than pre-pregnancy. I'm not nearly as strong as I used to be and don't have as much endurance. I need to get motivated to get back in shape before we start TTC again. I was doing really well for a few months, working out at least 5 days a week when my son was 2-6 months, but then we moved and the caregivers at the new YMCA I now belong to didn't seem to pay as much attention to my son as where I went prior to moving. Classes also completely conflict with nap times. So for both of those reasons, I started a bad trend of not exercising. Now at 11 months old, my son often cries when I even leave a room, so I am so nervous to go work out and leave him crying with caregivers I feel iffy about...Any help would be greatly appreciated! I know I could work out at home, but I always end up doing house work or relaxing, so I really do need to get out of the house and stop wasting my money on this membership. What has worked for other people?

Hi everyone!
My name is Lauren. I'm 25 and a mommy to two little girls, under 2. They are only 12 months apart. My body never had time to recover and get back to normal before I was already expecting the second. I had NO idea how much a toll this would take on my body and how much harder it would make my efforts to lose weight afterwards. My goal is to get back to my pre-pre-pregnancy (ha) weight. I'm close but I'm having a very hard time with these last 15-20 lbs. It just keeps fluctuating and I'm just so frustrated, nothing seems to be working. So I figured maybe I need more support and maybe this site may help me. I'm looking forward to it all. emoticon

Hello all! I am 27 (28 next week), I've been married for two years and I had my first son on July 17, 2013. I am about 5 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight but I would like to lose a lot more! I am hoping to stick to it. My husband is a police officer and he would also like to lose weight. Right now we are focusing on purchasing healthy foods and cooking right. I go back to work next week so I am going to have to adjust to working and being a Mom.

Hi everyone,
My name is Renee, i'm 27 and currently married with 2 kids. I just had my son on 7/8/13, and now that he's in the "real world", my gestational diabetes is gone. I was on here back in 2009, this site, plus Zumba, I went from 280 to 200 lbs in 7 months. But since then, due to depression, moving, baby, and life in general....I've put it all back on :(

I'm currently dealing with postpartum depression along with my everyday bipolar disorder. So I have been extremely unmotivated and uncaring about everything I do.

Hello everyone. I am not new to sparkpeople but new to this team. I just had my third baby girl in May and need to lose a significant amount of weight. I work part time and my husband runs his own company, so I find it difficult to work out most days. I have to say that I am proud of myself for taking the first step by preparing healthier meals for our family. When I am home, I am preoccupied with my family and usually put myself on the back burner. I have to prioritize time for myself!

Hi! My name is Sara, and I am new to the team. I joined Spark People a few years back but just didn't get serious about it. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children, my little girl 4 1/2 and little boy 2 1/2. Working out for me is a very difficult task because I work full time and when I'm at home I'm preoccupied with my children, etc. I always seem to get motivated for a few days and just lose interest after that. I thought if I had a support team, like the ones here on Spark People that I would be more apt to stick to the program. Today marks day one for me. I hope I can stay motivated. I have about 40-45 pounds I could do without. It's wonderful to meet everyone and I look forward to great results in the coming weeks! Good luck to everyone!

Hi! I'm Erica! I'm new to the site and to the group! I'm currently set to run in my first ever 5k in Feb of next year! This is a big deal for me to take a huge step like that. To sign up for something that I'm not even close to ready for. I did it as a motivator to lose weight and also to accomplish something for myself for a change. I have 2 little boys and a husband of 10 years that I always seam to put before myself. Now it's time to change! :) Nice to meet you all!

Hi fellow moms! I joined SparkPeople last fall but haven't been using it, as I thought I could eat better and be more active by my own willpower. That hasn't been working and I want to be the healthier, more energetic version of myself that both my 16 month old son and I deserve!

One of my primary goals is to lose weight in a healthy way, not in a way where I will gain it all back, plus some, as I did for my wedding 4 years ago. I also want to feel fit, athletic, and not cringe at the thought of trying on clothes or someone taking my picture. Knowing that so many other mammas are supporting each other's goals is amazing!

Hello I am new to the group. I just rejoined Sparkpeople. I am back on my weight loss journey. I have a seven month old boy that I love to spend time with. But I have to set time aside for myself at least four times a week at the gym. He has been my excues for to long. I lost 20 pounds after having him. But being inactive caused me to gain it all back. Now I am back where I was before I had him. I going to get my sexy back this summer. Eating good and exercising.

Hi team! I'm new to this team, but not Spark - I've been here since 2006, but took about a year and a half off when I got pregnant. My son is now 7 months old, and it's time to do something about this pudge! I'd love a buddy to help me stay accountable!!

Hello everyone! I am 22 years old and I had my beautiful son Max in October of 2011. Before getting pregnant I never had this much trouble keeping my weight in check, now it seems like an endless battle. It really seems like everything thing I eat goes straight to my gut, I'd much rather it go straight to the thighs as the saying goes emoticon hehe. There were things I could eat before and not think twice about, not anymore. I really want to adopt some long term healthy eating and exercising habits and feel happy and proud in my skin again! I am so happy to have found this group and really look forward to connecting with other moms out there who are facing the same struggles I am.

Hi Team! I'm Nikki, 31 and mom of my first, a 6 month baby boy. But I've been a "mom" for 8 years to my step daughter who I have lived with full time since she was 5. I was in great shape when I got married in 2009 and its all been downhill since. I was at 196 when I got pregnant! Luckily I didn't gain a ton and lost the baby weight so I am right back to that 196 area again. Its so hard to fund time to work out with a full time job, 12 year old, 6 month old who only wants mommy, housework, dinner and so on! So trying to get in walks when I can, taking the stairs and getting back to tracking what I eat and being smarter about things. And I just got a jogging stroller so maybe I can get running now its warmer! I could use all the help, support and friends I can get to motivate me and I'll be happy to return the favor!

Hello everyone! I've been with SparkPeople for just over a week and am still trying to figure everything out. I thought I had got off to a good start. After not working out for over 4 years (because I got tired of the drama that was going on in the workout studio I had attended at the time and I then I found out I was pregnant) I did a work out on my first day and thought I had it "ALL PLANNED OUT". Didn't work out for me as I thought it would. I didn't do anything that worked me toward my goal. However, in the last three days I have walked everyday to a total of just about 4.5 miles, and surprisingly I'm actually enjoying the walking. Now I just have to get myself to set aside 30 or so minutes a day for the toning.

Good luck to all and I pray that you all reach your goals!! emoticon

Hello! I am Jessica and I am a mother of a 3 yr old and a 9 mo old. I love my babies but I want my body back lol. I seems so hard to try to squeeze time in for myself to go to the gym between working full time, the kids and my husband. Sometimes he is not so hands on with the baby so I have a hard time getting to the gym. I have childcare at the gym but he is way to clingy and cries the whole time. I guess I am just looking for some support, motivation, and tips for moms like me who make it work!

Hello,
I am a busy 5th grade teacher trying to turn around a giant back-slide. I had lost 170 pounds on ww to weigh 135 pounds and I kept it off for 5 years. I changed shifts, quit smoking, then changed careers, causing me to sit on my rear researching in grad school for a few years, then had an 'against all odds' surprise baby, 6 months later, my Mom died of morbid obesity suddenly in her sleep, then got a teaching job 1 day before students reported... finally, as a single mom of a 2 year old only child who demands a ton of attention and who is in child care 50 hours a week just for me to attend work, not to mention the countless hours I put in at home grading papers and organizing lessons, and who NEVER sleeps, (but at least he is VERY bright and verbal and LOVES "exercising his Mommy") ... and with all of that going on, every darn pound found me back... plus 30. It is infuriating.
But enough is enough. I did it before. I can do it again. I know how hard it was and how many battles there were, but I know the battles of being obese, too, and I figure it's about equal, so I may as well be healthy for my little guy. Plus, my school nurse started this Biggest Loser competition among the teachers. She sent us the link to SparkPeople. She had to know that it would be the kick in the pants I'd need, because I am tired of excuses and ready to make time wherever I can!!
BTW, MOMMY to WOWWY is ADORABLE!! I never thought of it that way.
In fat-fighting fellowship,
-Me emoticon

Welcome HAPPYMAMA102. SparkPeople is a good place to learn about losing weight, make new friends, get motivated and be inspired. You would think that chasing a toddler around, should lose weight with that alone. But he is one of my reasons for wanting to get healthy. Also check out babyfit by SP (SparkPeople).

Hi! I was reading this board for awhile, trying to decide what to post! My goodness some of you have amazing stories!! It's so impressive that you all can handle all this and weightloss too...So I'm new to spark and this team. I dont have an amazing story to tell, I stay home mostly with my 2 year old and 9 month old. God willing, I want at least two more kids, but I seem to get exponentially bigger with each pregnancy. So here I am, cruising for motivation and tips.

Hi Laura, seems we have some in common. Three year olds we can't keep up with. I am going to do The Color Run soon. Need to recheck the date. :-/. I did it last year, it was so much fun. We tried to run at first but with all the people it was not easy. It is fun just to walk it. If you want to run you should be in the first wave. Have a blast and share your experience.

New to the team. I recently rejoined SP. I have a three year old son. He is very active and loving boy. My goal is to get fit and healthy. I want to be able to keep up with him. I want to be a good role model for him with nutrition and exercise. I lost weight with SP before I got pregnant with him, then gradually gained most of it back when I went back to my old ways. I stopped walking and running because of knee pain. But starting up again.

Hello all! My name is Jayme, and I am so excited to be joining the group. I am 30 weeks pregnant today, and my husband leaves for an 8 month deployment tomorrow. This is the first deployment for the both of us. The past few months have meant big life changes for me e.g. move halfway across the country back home with my parents, transferred my job, grow a tiny person, deal with impending deployment, etc.

I have had more than my fair share of dark days lately, but I think that the goodbye is now over with (I dropped him off at the airport Monday) that I am allowing myself to move forward with my life. I have great goals I want to accomplish while my hubby is away: 1. finish my master's thesis before the baby comes, 2. bring my sweet little baby man into this world and be the best mommy I can be to him, 3. best in the best possible shape (physically and emotionally) that I can be when my hubby comes home!

I am so jazzed to be a part of this group, and I absolutely look forward to the support from you lovely ladies!

Hi, I've been on SP for a while now (on and off), but am new to this team. I'm a grad student with a bright and active 4 year old daughter. Having my office at home makes it a challenge to manage my time and maintain a satisfying balance of work and home life. Looking forward to being a part of this team, emoticon
