This past one, we were only down for 2 wks. (DH went with) and I wished I would have stayed my usual 2 months but I really blew it!! I suppose this coming winter will be very mild but then we will still be a bit warmer. Talked with mom today and they have rarely been under 100 degrees this spring/summer.:))D Not my style!!!

Wish we could do that (go south for the winter!) LOL...
These MN winters can get cold after awhile. Hahaha!

emoticon Stacia and emoticon from MN. Glad you joined our team!. We lost our little Chi that was the one pet that connects with your soul, last yea and I still come to tears over her (she is my profile pic). This team helped a lots with the grief. We now have 2 Chi's that are darlings. Keeleigh, a 5# puppy mill rescue, is somewhere between 2-4 y/o and a sweety. Daisy is a 14 month old surrender that had never been socialized nor taken outdoors to potty. She is VERY tall with 14" legs and still a puppy!! We couldn't touch her the first day or 2 as she was so afraid of us. After having her since mid March, she has been camping and going out to see people and is doing quite well. Still a little skittish but very loving for us. They both have fund they love riding in the truck and camping.

As far as me, I am a retired RN and my DH is retiring this winter. We are looking forward to travel (via camper) and staying in the south for winter months. Love our 3 granddaughters (4,5,6) but will forfeit seeing them for a warm winter. Skype is a very handy tool!!

Thanks to both of you for the warm welcome. I have belonged to several forums in the past (and currently). All of them related to my chi's. I have met some of the most wonderful people that way and I'm sure I'll do the same here :)

Carol, so sorry to hear Sammy is no longer with you, but I'm glad that you had the time you did with him. We lost our dog, tanner, of eleven years almost three years ago. I understand the grief.

I'd like to make myself an avatar, but can't figure out how to do it..can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello and welcome. I have 4 chis- I LOVE them all dearly, but I do know what you mean about your soul mate dog. Mine was my Sammie. I miss him terribly, but I was lucky to have him. I have his photo as my "whatever it's called" with my SP name- he was nearly all black with touches of white.

I'm an artist, teach/play piano, learning the harp (can you believe we have 2 harp players on the chi team?!) We're a friendly bunch here. Hope you join in and get to know us better. :-)

Hi everyone! My name is Stacia (sounds like Stay-sha) and I'm looking forward to meeting some positive people interested in the same things I am. I have a chi mix named Lucy, and a chi named Bailey. Lucy was an adult rescue that came home in 2001, we think she is about 11-12 years old at this time, but she is as spry as ever, though her once black face is now very white. Bailey was my heart's desire for my birthday last year and she is now just over a year and a half old. She is my "heart dog" and always will be. I love them both to bits, but there's just something extra special about my Bailey.

Ok, so a little about me. I'm 36 and have three wonderful children. Alex (20), who is also a spark member, Lauren (18), and last but not least, the baby of the family, Caleb, who will be 14 in august. My children are my world and my girl's are my best friend's. Alex and I are working together to lose some weight and to make better lifestyle choices. I'm also a grandmother to the most wonderful little girl. Her name is Selina and she's def. grandma's girl. I just adore being her grandma! I have been married to the love of my life for 18 years and feel very blessed to have found my true soul mate. I am going back to work soon as an RN soon, after a prolonged period of being off work. Eeek, I'm super nervous about it, but excited at the same time.

I have about 60 lbs to lose to be where I'd like to be, but right now my goal is to lose 20lbs by october. Some of my goals are to walk my dog's each day or close to it. I love walking them and it's a win, win. They love it too of course, and it'll help us to be healthy together as well as to increase our bond. I'm also trying to give up pop. Ugh, this is a tough one because I love my diet pepsi.

Anyway, I'm excited to start this journey and love to talk chi, so this is def. the right place for me :) Hope you all are having a happy and healthy day!

xx,
Stacia
