I agree with others that you belong. You're having the same tests and treatment as we are. I hope to be of help.

You're in my prayers that the biopsy is clear. Hold on to the railings!

Wow. Thank you -- all of you. I did not get a notification when anyone posted (can you tell I am new to spark people?). Thanks for looking out for the new girl. :)

I just found out this morning that the radiologist who did my MRI biopsy on Thursday found a spot next to the marker when they did the mammogram afterward. So the biopsy she took was negative, but she is concerned she missed the area. So when I have my lumpectomy on Friday on the DCIS on the right, the surgeon will do a surgical biopsy on the left and put a spacer in for the brachiotherapy on both sides, in case I need it...so another week of not knowing.

I got on spark people because I want to keep a healthy diet, and maintain exercise while get through some really hard times. This is so important for stress control.

Definitely don't minimize what you're going thru. DCIS is pre Cancer. Good Luck with your treatment and surgery.

I agree with Caro, you are absolutely welcome here! Cancer is scary, no matter what your diagnosis or prognosis, and it changes you forever. You will be in my prayers, and remember, we are all here for you! emoticon

Don't minimize what you are going through. Every voyage is different. But we are all traveling together. This is a loving, comforting, helpful group. We may not know exactly how you feel, but we may have felt similar fears, pain, and doubts. We can hold you up in friendship and in prayer.

hugs, Caro

I wish I could delete this now. I probably don't belong in this team. DCIS is pre-invasive cancer and everyone else here is fighting for their lives. I still have to have radiation and tamoxifen after surgery, but that seems like nothing compared to what many people in these forums are going through.

I got on spark people because I want to keep a healthy diet, and maintain exercise while get through some really hard times. This is so important for stress control.

I had an abnormal mammogram on May 1 of this year. I had gone to the doctor about pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding and I was anemic as a result. I knew I was behind on my mammogram screenings (only by about 7 years emoticon ), so I had one the same day I had a pelvic ultrasound. I put off the biopsy until July 1, because my first granddaughter was born on May 21, and it was more important to me to be with my daughter and help her for the first two weeks. Plus, I think I was in denial.

When it turned out that it was DCIS, I decided to put the GYN problems on the back burner...until the oncologist told me I had to get that figured out so that he knew what medicine he could put me on. So the long story short, 3 biopsies later, I have breast surgery scheduled for August 14, a week of radiation, and then a hysterectomy a week later.

And God is good. Through all of this I have relied on Christ's strength, because when I am week that is when He does His best work. It is a lot to deal with right now, but it is an excellent prognosis. I am grateful every day for my dear husband, my daughter who came to stay with us through all of this, her sweet little baby's coos and smiles, and for my 16 year-old who is being very grown up and compassionate beyond his years.
