Welcome
We are fairly new to this-we got our 19' motorhome last summer now that our family is just about grown up. It suits the 2 of us beautifully (though I'm sure it's tiny by American standards-we live in England!)
Look forward to getting to know you

Hi, my name is Kristi we love to RV our next trip is in September to the kids for a couple of weeks. They have their place fixed up real nice for us it is almost like staying in a park. Just signed back up with Sparkspeople today. I am semi retired and when I am working I do not get much done. We stared with a small bumper pull and realized it was too small for us. We found a 37.5 Cameo 5th wheel that we purchased from a private party in Belingham WA. I just abso lutely love it. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

My husband and I are retired and travel in a Class A 38Ft Motorhome. A Georgetown by Forest River. I have pictures in my photo gallery if you're interested.

We just returned home today from AZ. We left AZ 4/1 and have taking the slow way home!

Hi I'm Karol from Michigan. I see I already have a couple of friends here. My hubby and I are retired and RV during the summer. We have a 28 ft. Sierra with 2 slideouts, made by Forest River. When we go we take our Fish "n" Ski boat with us too! I'm looking forward to meeting fellow Rv'ers and sharing tips.

Thanks! I'm so glad you mentioned the Silverado as I have been looking at them. I'll focus on a used 8 cylinder SUV. The way gas prices are here in the states now, maybe this year we'll just look for a local place to park for the season!

By the way, what's a "huddle"?

Hi Gabby and Welcome to this team. i am fairly new here myself but really enjoy reading the messages from the others. You can read about my own travels here in Canada below.

We too, bought a small travel trailer a few years ago because we had a Toyota Sienna 6 cylinder Van at the time. It soon became apparent that if we wanted to do our trip across Canada that the Van was just not going to do the trick! So we traded up to a Silverado truck. The truck did the trick and we had no problems hauling the trailer on our trip....However! lol I do not recommend the truck to you in the least especially if your hubby has back problems! It is what it is,,,a truck! and not comfy at all. We do not have any health problems to deal with but we are both very short! lol And we both found the truck cumbersome at times even when not pulling the trailer and our short legs were not comfy when driving once were were in position to be able to touch the gas and brake pedals.

So aftersight always being better than foresight...lol..we traded in again last Fall and got a Toyota Sequoia ( it was a good deal as a Demo...1 yr old but only driven by the owner of our local Toyota garage here. We NEVER could have afforded a brand new one of these vehicles that's for sure! )

But we are well pleased with all the comforts this vehicle has and we are looking forward to getting away with the trailer as soon as the weather perks up some here in Canada!! ( that could be a while yet in this country! LOL )

Oh yeah...like you found out...it was the HILLS that told us that the Toyota Van was never going to to the trick for hauling the trailer! many an angry trucker beeped their horns at us that first year as we slowly ground down to 60 Km/ Hr on those hills! ( 30 Mi/Hr ) And we tried to find routes that had no hills...lol...there are none!! And my son lives in SC and even down through your States....there are no routes that do not give you many a hill to climb!

Hi Gabby and welcome again to the team! I think you have just joined and will meet a whole new world of friendship. Someone is here at all times of the day or night, whenever you need support or encouragement.

We travel in a 38 ft motorhome. Most of us on this team have posted a picture of our RV in our photo gallery. You can go and check out some of our rigs and when you are comfortable with the website, I would encourage you to do the same.

My husband and I are Snowbirds and we're almost home from our winter of travels. We should be pulling in to our home in MI tomorrow.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I joined Sparks a few days ago and this is my first experience participating on msg. boards, forums, blogs etc. so excuse me if I make mistakes. I'm from Western NY. My husband and I are both retired early due to disabilites but we get cabin fever so we bought a small (23 ft.) ultra lite Jayco travel trailer to haul behind our 6 cylinder SUV. Our first trip was to Cape Cod last year. We discovered that we need a bigger vehicle to tow up mountains so it's going to be a challenge finding fairly flat routes LOL! We also can only drive a few hours a day due to my husbands back problems but we're in no hurry to get anywhere! I've been to every state in the union except Hawaii, Maine and Vermont, but my husband hasn't; and I really want him to see everything. The trailer is one of my motivators since I want to be in better shape to fully explore and enjoy wherever we go (might need to trade for a bigger vehicle though)!

Hi Heather - welcome to our team!

I loved reading your post. I am not very familiar with Canada so I got out my map and followed your trips! Wow - you must be experts on traveling with your RV by now.

My hubby and I are retired. Our home is in MI but we haven't been there much in the last three years. We have been wintering in AZ the last three years and a lot of our friends in our resort are from Canada.

We left our resort on 4/1 and we're taking an extended trip on our way back to MI. Right now we are in New Orleans, LA but we are going to travel to Gulf Shores, AL today.

I look forward to getting better acquainted with you.

Hi All RV'ers and Getting Healthier SP!
My name is Heather and I live in New Brunswick, Canada. My hubby and I bought a 2007 Terry Dakota ( made by Fleetwood ) in 2008. We had got it around September so that first year we just did a wee bit of RV'ing around our province to get use to it all. I had camped years ago when my kids were small but had not pulled an RV trailer for years and hubby being Scottish had not ever hauled one. ( he did have a heavy duty army truck license in Scotland but like he said...they were easier to park than our wee 18 foot Terry! lol )
During the summer of 2009, we had visitors from Scotland but after they were away back home we went to several campsites in NS...including the Cabot Trail. Then we headed back into NB and again took in several campsites there as well. Come September...we were not yet ready to pack it up for winter ( we had got the BUG!! lol ) so we headed to SC where my oldest son lives and camped nightly all the way down...stayed there a week then on the way back home spent a couple of nights here and a couple of nights there to sightsee. We got back around October 15th.
Come summer 2010....we had our long dreamed about trip all sorted out to go across Canada from here to the Pacific Ocean ( Vancouver Island ) Along the way we visited friends and family and of course, took in all the sightseeing we could manage ( which was loads LOL) When we had planned our trip my hubby figured out that 12,000 Kms should take us to the Pacific and back again. BOY! oh BOY! was he wrong...lol When we had visited my brother in Fort McMurray, Alberta...he and his wife said to us...why would you head south west to Vancouver from here when you are so far north right now??? And we agreed so headed to north BC ...then up to the NWT...then up to the Yukon....even entered the most northern border into Alaska. And of course! We went up to the Arctic Circle whilst we were in the Yukon. In the end of the 3 months it took us to go across Canada and back here to NB...we clocked 24,000 Kms!! Double! WOW! And we had a ball! Once we were back as far as Ontario....we looped into the USA and drove through the northern States heading towards Maine which boarders NB and thus home from there.
The only province in Canada we have not camped in now is Newfoundland! And we will rectify that this summer! And both my and hubby are itching to get on the move...grrrrr.....would you beleive we had SNOW here today??? lol Not much but we still have not got our Terry dug out yet from the snow banks left by our snow blowing all winter!! lol
And oh Yeah...whilst we travelled last year we planned well for our eating....and when we got back 3 months later, I had lost 15 more pounds and hubby had lost 7 more! So it can be done if planned properly!
Just love RV'ing and travelling and looking forward to checking this Team Page often!

Hi Gail
I'm glad you found our great group here and I'm sure you will fit right in with us.
We have other members from WA and they'll probably introduce themselves to you.

My husband and I have been Snowbirds the last three years since retiring. Our home is in MI but we winter in Mesa, AZ and then take an extended trip back to MI in the spring. Right now we are making our way slowly home by traveling across the lower states on I-10. We are in New Orleans for a couple days and then we are going to check out Gulf Shores, AL before we head north.

Last year my husband had a massive heart attack and Quadruple Bypass surgery so we are very familiar with heart issues. He has recovered and we have resumed our normal lifestyle at this time.

Hi everyone, As I scanned through the teams looking for a place to belong I ran across this team. I read some of the posts and got very homesick for the road again. My DH an I love to travel down the highway with our little Shih Tzu, Dusty. We spend most winters being winter Texans but stayed home this past winter due to health issues. Needing to lose weigh and get healthy I found my way back to SP that I joined in 2009 but because I was so lost on my computer I couldn't figure out how to take part in it. So I am back and fumbling my way around.
My name is Gail, soon to be 65, from Washington state and love to travel. We belong to Thousand Trails and have been to most of them. We have a travel trailer with a slide out and it is very comfortable to stay in. I love to cook and enjoy trying new recipes. My DH and I are both Christians and love visiting other churches when we are on the road. Life couldn't get much better, well, getting this weight off would help.
I have 4 grown married children, 2 boys, 2 girls. 9 grandchildren and 3 GRANDS!
I am looking forward to getting to know you.
I'll be back soon. Have a great day emoticon

Last spring we traveled around Utah and went to all the national parks. Every time we went to a new one it became my favorite! So much beauty. My DH was recovering from a heart attack and Quadruple Bypass surgery so he couldn't hike as much as we would have liked but we got a few hikes in. We also went to Yellowstone for our first time but it was too early and they only had one road open to Old Faithful. We got caught in the middle of a snowstorm while visiting so it turned out to be a scary day! Every trip is chuck full of memories!

Like Jacque mentioned, be sure and post in our Tell Us About your Day thread so everyone can get acquainted with you. I can tell you have a lot to add to this team!

That's about when we decided to stop traveling outside of US as well. We feel like there is a lot in the United States to see that we haven't seen yet. We have traveled some with in the US but there is still a lot more to see.

Kris - my DH and I love to travel and we have been fortunate to travel all over the world. After 9/11 we decided that we should purchase a MH and discover our own country. It was a good decision for us and we have enjoyed it so much, we have now decided we want to be full time RVer's. Time will tell if we can sell our home. It's rough economic times and we're not giving it away. We worked too many years to get it bought and paid for, lol. So we'll see if the right buyer is out there.

We intend to list our home for sale when we get back to MI this spring. Then we will be full time RVer's for 3-5 years as long as we are enjoying it and our health holds out. We love AZ and may end up spending more time out here.

I looked Show Low up on my map so now I know about where you live. Two years ago when we left Mesa we went up to Holbrook and stayed a few days. We went to the Petrified Forest, Painted Desert and Canyon De Chelly and enjoyed all of it. It is so different than in MI.

Kris, welcome. We love to have new members.
We've looked at the Raptors. I really liked them. We have a small 5th wheel. We haven't been out in over 2 yrs now, but for about 4 years we were full timing it. Hubby has been up in your area alot in past years. He's a retired jockey and used to ride in the area alot.
To put a picture of your 5th wheel you go to your home page and edit your page. There is a place to put pics. That's where we have our pics.
Pop up to the 'Tell us about your day' thread. That's where we do most of our chatting. I look forward to getting to know you and help you on your journey to better health.

We have a Raptor 5th wheel. That way we can take our quads with us when we go. We live in Show Low. It's the northern part of Arizona. We get snow in the winter and beautiful weather in the summer. We have lots of pine trees and trails to qaud on. My husband is starting an ATV touring business since there are so many beautiful mountains around us. You ought to come up here sometime and see the beautiful part of Arizona. Not sure how to post pictures of our 5th wheel unless its on my home page.

Hello Again Kris

I'm not too familiar with the state of AZ but we have been Snowbirds in Mesa for the last three years. We are still in our resort until next Friday, 4/1 when we will go down and spend a week in Yuma with another RV Enthusiasts (RUTHANN05) who is wintering there. Then we will head across the southern states on I-10 and visit another on our team (JACQUEBO) who lives by Lafeyette, LA before we head north to our home in MI.

What kind of RV do you own? Most of us on the team post pictures and I would encourage you to do the same. We all love the RV lifestyle.

I'm glad you found our team and it will be fun learning more about you. BTW, you have been doing an excellent job on losing and you're getting closer to your goal - WooHoo!

Hi all. My name is Kris. I've been a member of Spark for over a year but didn't realize that they had a page for RV enthusiasts. I'm so excited! My husband and I do a lot of camping in our RV during the summer. We belong to 2 ATV groups in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona and usually go camping/quading with them. We have owned our RV for about 5 years and love it. Nothing better!!

Margie - I think that is the hardest thing we all have to learn! Even down here for the entire winter, I feel like I have the freedom to eat what I want just like on vacation. The trouble is that since we've retired this is our every day lifestyle and I have to learn how to eat healthy!
I'm trying...........

Thank you all for your very warm welcome! I just realized it was the over-eating I did on my last RV trip that caused me to decide I needed to do something about my over-eating and lack of exercise. It seems to be so easy to treat an RV trip as a vacation and be really lax !

I am retired and spending my winter in Mesa, AZ right now but our home is in MI. Well, when we return this spring we hope to sell and be full time RVer's for a few years. We are enjoying traveling all over our country.

We have a large variety of RVer's here - full timers, Snowbirds, weekend warriors and some just dreaming of the day they can go again. I think you will fit in and enjoy our topics and conversations which involve everything! We are here to support and encourage you on your way to better health.

Hi! I am Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Welcome to the team! I am a member of some other teams, but this one is one of the two that I have the most fun with. This is a fantastic group. Plus, anyone who is a friend of Lesa's is a friend of our, right, folks? emoticon

Hi all...I have been on Sparks a few weeks now and am learning about new forums everyday it seems. I have been e-mailing with Lesa (abba) and we are learning how much we have in common. One is both having a 5th wheel and living in CA. She told me about this forum and invited me to join just this morning, so here I am.
Looking forward to meeting you all !

Jody, welcome. Sorry I must have missed the post yesterday. I hope you have a great trip. I've only been to Yellowstone as a small child. Haven't been able to get there as an adult. It is one of the trips we would like to make as well, unfortunately our work schedule doesn't allow for summer vacations. Our only time to take a vacation is during the winter. You'll have to keep us up on your plans and the trip.

Hello - I'm sorry I haven't been available to give you my normal welcome to the team! My computer is infected with a virus and being repaired so I am at the mercy of a public computer room! I will be back up and running in a week or so.

My husband and I took an extended trip to Yellowstone and the Black Hills last spring. We winter in AZ and took the trip on our way back to MI. It was too early in the season so we weren't able to visit the Grand Tetons and felt bad about that. But the trip was wonderful and if I can help in any way, just ask! You will have a fabulous vacation!

Greetings all. My name is Jody and I'm only fortunate enought to RV about a month per year (as I'm still working full time, although my hubby is retired). I delibertly searched for an RV Spark team because I'm trying to plan our first trip to the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and the Black Hills. We're planning to go during August. I'm hoping some folks on the team can help me plan a great vacation. We'll be traveling in our 30' travel trailer.

Thanks so much for the welcome! I didn't think I had any pictures of our new RV on my new laptop, but I was able to find one in one of my Facebook albums and copy it. I almost forget what it looks like! It has been in the shop getting fixed for almost two months now. We had an accident with it in a campgroudn in November and ripped off the whole awning. I'll save that story for another post! LOL

Hi Amy - Welcome to the team! I still can't believe how many things you and I have in common! My husband and I also started out with a used Winnebago as our first RV. Now we own a 38' Forest River Georgetown. I have pictures in my photo gallery. A lot of us on this team post pictures of our RV's as we are all in love with them. If you can, do the same. Otherwise, you'll have to in the spring.

Poor you! Spring sounds so far away, I'm sure.

We look forward to you posting with us - jump in on any thread and we'll follow you!

Hi, Everyone!

I'm Amy from souteastern PA. My husband and I caught the RV bug three years ago, when we bought a used 2003 Winnebago Adventurer from one of our friend's sister. We instantly fell in love with motoring. We have gone to Penn State games with friends, and travel to local campgrounds three seasons of the year. Our favorite summer vacation is to Bar Harbor, Maine. We went there two summers in a row. This fall we went to the Hershey RV show and traded in the Adventurer for our future retirement motor home, a 42 foot 2011 Entegra Aspire! We are in love!!! After we sell our house and retire in a few years, we plan on becoming full-timers. I can't wait to get away from the cold and snow in the winter! Right now, I am in big-time RV withdrawal, and can't wait for spring to start RVing again!

Now that I have introduced myself, I will start posting on the daily chat thread. I look forward to getting to know the Spark members on this great team, and sharing RV experiences together!

Welcome Zoe! We enjoy chatting with our new members and I see Jacque helped you find the way to our daily chatter.

My husband and I are retired and our home is in Michigan but we winter in Mesa, AZ. The rest of the year we travel a lot. We hope to sell our home in the next couple of years (when the economy is a little better) and full time for 3-5 years before our health gives out or our money runs out - lol

Hi! I'm Zoe. My hubby and I have a small travel trailer and we're new to using it. We had a Class C (a very old one) for awhile and we've done our share of tent camping over the years. Just found this group and hope to get to know more about trailers and make friends. We are also kicking around the idea of becoming full timers in the future. We also like photography, hiking and astronomy.

For our first trip we are tentatively going from Phoenix, AZ to Portland, OR in October and I'm a bit concerned about the trip.

Merry Christmas!

Hi, I am Tammy. I am a retired teacher, but work part time [T, Th] at a local community college in the fall and spring.

My husband and I tent-camped with my young children [from my first marriage] when we were married fifteen years ago. I had never camped before then. Since then, we have worked our way up with a pop-up camper, gradually newer and lighter travel trailers, and just this summer traded our last trailer in for our first [used] motor home. We traveled just a short distance as a first time voyage just a few weeks ago and we love it!
