Good Morning!

My name is Bobbie, I started running in 2009 when a Sparkfriend wanted me to participate in a 5K with her. While I knew I wouldn't be able to run the entire distance I still signed up and started with the Couch to 5K program. But I also quit running that year. I got frustrated that I could walk faster than I could run.

But in January to 2010 I decided to give it another try. While I could still walk faster than I could run I decided to just give myself to the process. And by the end of that year I had taken 10 minutes off my 5K finishing time.

I continued to run in 2011 and 2012, but life kind of got the best of me in 2013. I had a couple of months where I was able to get my crap together and start running again but it was always short lived. And on the occasional day off when I could get a run in where I wasn't pressed for time, I would tend to over do it, like running 10-12 miles after not running for weeks, then suffer severe fatigue and muscle pain.

I also developed a severe case of restless leg syndrome and I thought it might be directly related to my running so I quit for that reason also for a couple of months, but the symptoms didn't go away. Because to the RLS symptoms keeping me awake and only sleeping 1-2 hours the fatigue was causing bone pain throughout my body. After my Dr did a few tests and tried a couple medications, we were able to get it under control.

I decided to start back off slow, even though I can still run 3 miles without stopping its just a lot slower now. I using the First Day to 5k plan, but I run through the intervals twice for an hour total, 5 times a week. I am starting week three today.

One more real quick thing, if anyone in from the Rocky Mount area of NC please hit me up. I am relocating to the area and would like to find a running club in that area and also a possible website for running events, I know some sites are better than others.
