Only two weeks now before my first 5k race - eek! I'm on track with my training, but slowed up a bit due to a slight virus.

Yay! I've broken through the shorts barrier! Who'd have thought?!
I've also broken away from the timer and just ran as far as I wanted to, and walked when I wanted to - it felt great!
I'm reading and learning about chi running - which seems to be the way for me to go :D

Shorts! OMG! Not sure I'd dare - not like I have awful legs (do have some veins) - but, well, oh dear - now you've thrown the cat amongst the pigeons! I was looking at trousers/leggings - maybe 3/4 length. Jeans are OK at the moment (it's cold here!) I

Congrats on your first 5K! It'a awesome that you're already signed up for the next one. I love having a date set for the next goal. It keeps ya motivated to always be improving!

As a reward for finishing your first 5K, you should go out and get some running shorts (TJ Max or Walmart probably has super cheap running shorts for Spring and Summer)! Running in jeans sounds like it's own challenge! emoticon

Hi! Having just completed my first 5k (my own measured route) at the end of the Spark People's Walk/Jog C25K programme - I am sitting here with my coffee browsing the teams, wanting to be part of a supportive community to keep me going with the running. This looks like a cosy group - so, here I am!
My next step is the Spark programme to be able to jog the whole 5k with no walking. I have signed up for a charity 5k event in May (Race for Life) and so that is my immediate goal.
But I can see myself wanting to do more!
I have a decent pair of trainers at the moment (but I've read that you need to keep replacing them :( so that'll be a stretch on the finances) and I'm running in jeans at the moment - so I'd like to get some decent gear
Meanwhile, it's raining outside - I'm going to re-fill my coffee cup and enjoy the feeling of having completed my run for today emoticon emoticon emoticon !
