Hi David, welcome!!

I am having the same issues as you are, my weight has been hovering in the same range for awhile. Up a few, down a few. Can't seem to get past this point.
I did my first half marathon this July. While I was training for it, I did manage to take off unwanted pounds, but they came back after.

Running is my main form of exercise, but I do bike, take body toning classes 3 times a week, and have a stairclimber that I use to break things up.

Nice to see you here!

Hi all,

A quick into. I slowly put on weight over the years. I haven't ever been that active until recently when I started running almost 2 years ago.

It's been a little frustrating lately because I keep hovering around the same weight. My lowest weight over the last couple of years was about 12 lbs lower than where I am now.

I graphed my weight and exercise on the same graph, and you can see the weight go up when the exercise dwindles and then go down when the exercise picks up.

A year ago I pretty much quit running in the months of Nov and Dec- the shorter days and rainy weather killed my motivation. The same thing happened this summer after I ran my first ever race in May- a half marathon. The heat and humidity really bothered me a lot more this summer than last. So I'm back on the wagon again. Just recently I feel like I'm finally back to where I was a year ago as far as my running pace goes.

I really want to keep at it, get faster and lose more weight. I plan to run the Cleveland Rite Aid Half Marathon for the second time this spring. Last year I got sick four days before the race and ended up with a time of 2:22:28. I had hoped for a time between 2:10 and 2:25 not really knowing what to expect of myself since I'd never covered the 13.1 distance before. So I wasn't terribly disappointed in my effort.

Ok, I'm starting to ramble now- that's it for now :)
