emoticon as the other warriors have said just talk to God. I was at a meeting last evening and the speaker was a very good friend She is a runner and says that that is her time to talk with God there is just the two of them and she talks and tries to remember to listen because that really is part of the whole process We talk to God and Jesus but often forget to be still and listen for the answer may not come in actual words often just as a feeling that you must do something. Or knowing that things will be ok just be patient. Sometimes he just listens without comment. Sometimes he gets really vocal but mostly you have to just let the still small voice speak to you

I pray for anything and everything.. and I always THANK GOD daily for the blessings he gives me and also for letting me be His.
I pray that as you come here to our Team and read the Topics daily.. that you to will grow in your knowledge of God and that these women that have such words of wisdom will also help you thru their words to pray and fellowship with us here.

Simone, I just talk to God all the time, there is no set of rules, all you need is to have a personal relationship with Him. Do you? If not, it is simple. Here are the steps to salvation...

Every person can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Getting to know Him involves three steps.

First step: Realize We Each Have A Problem

All of us who have been born on this side of the Garden of Eden have the same basic problem in our lives. The Bible identifies that problem as 'sin'.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Sin stains the soul, scars the spirit, and separates from God.

Second Step: Recognize Jesus Is The Only Solution To Our Problem

None of us are capable of solving the sin problem in our own life. Because we all have the same sin problem, we cannot solve one another's problem. The only solution for this problem would be to have someone who was sinless to solve it on our behalf. This is where Jesus provides the solution. He was sinless. He willingly took our place on the cross and paid the price for our sin problem to be solved.

"But God demonstrates His love to us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

It is not enough that we realize we have a problem and that Jesus is the solution. We must take the next step.

Third Step: Receive Jesus Personally As Our Savior and Lord

Salvation, God's solution to our sin problem, is a gift that is offered to every person. However, unless a gift is received, it just remains a gift offered.

"The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

Receiving Jesus Christ personally involves asking Him to come into one's life to be their Lord.

"For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

You can ask Jesus Christ into your life to be your Lord right now.

"Lord Jesus, I realize I am a sinner, I recognize you are the solution, and I receive you as my Savior and Lord."

If you pray that pray, confess your sins and ask Jesus into your heart, you are saved and by talking with Him in all things, you have a personal relationship with Him. What glory that is...what Kathy says is so true, He is our loving Father, who cares and is with us, in all things, and always!

Love and prayers to you

Simone...How wonderful that you have joined us here. I have been a Christian for many years and have learned over time that talking to Our Father God is like talking to our Daddy (Abba...means Daddy). For me prayer is like talking to my dearest and closest friend and knowing that He hears. He is always available and there is never a busy signal or long distance charge. The Psalms say that He never sleeps and that is good to know. You can even tell Him when you are angry with Him or even yell at Him...He's had much worse things said.

If you read in Psalms...you will find many instances where David cried out in protest and complained...one of my favorites is "How can I praise you if I'm dead?", but David's pattern is a good one to follow, because he always ends with acknowledgement of God's goodness and praises Him and worships Him.

Even the prayers you have learned have some meaning ...they just need to come from your heart not from rote.

Dear Simone, Welcome to God's Prayer Warriors. I am so glad God led you here with these wonderful sisters in Christ. I talk to God like I talk to you or any other friend. We have conversations all the time. Rarely do I get real "formal" if you will. I just tell Him how much I love Him, how grateful I am for his blessings in my life, How sorry am for my sins, and to please guide and direct me so I can be a light to others and so that they will see Him in me. I often tell him about my day, what I am afraid of, who I feel needs help, ect. Just a normal conversation. The only other prayer I know is the Lord's Prayer, which I learned as a child. I just say my own thing, and I know God hears my talking to him, and he answers my prayers in his own time and way. I have also learned that sometimes His answer is No, and it's for my own good! Iwouldn't be concerned about the way you pray, just open your heart and talk. As long as you Praise him, just talk to him. I hope this helps. emoticon Oh yes, I've been known to thank Him for a parking place, too!

Hi Simone! emoticon

I'm glad that you joined with us. I would encourage you to do what Michelle was saying and that is to just simply talk to the Lord. I like to start by thanking Him for all that I can think of, including who He is, and the fact that He is an awesome God. I acknowledge to Him that He is worthy of our praise. I thank Him and praise Him for who the Bible says He is - He is our King of Kings, He is our provider, our comforter, the Almighty God, and so on. Then I just tell Him about the concerns on my heart, and ask Him for help, for guidance, and whatever I need, or whatever the needs are for somebody else. The Holy Spirit will lead you in how to pray. I take the Lord's Prayer seriously as our example in how to pray. Let's look at it:

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name (that's the praise and adoration I was talking about)
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. (acknowledging that He is Lord and asking Him to have His way in your life or in the particular situation)
Give us this day our daily bread (asking for needs to be met),
forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors (asking for forgiveness of sin)
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil (asking for protection and guidance)
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. (Acknowledging once again who He is - the Almighty God.)

Follow that example and just talk to Him and that my friend is what prayer is all about! I hope that helps.

emoticon To God's Prayer Warriors. You sure have came to the right place.

I believe we all can improve something in our prayer life.

The thing that helped me most as a young christian. Was a friend from church, who described her prayer closet to me. She said she would sit in the floor in front of her Grandmother's old rocking chair. She would imagine Jesus sitting in the chair and her kneeling or sitting at his feet. She said she tried to share everything about her day. Even if she thought it was silly or not important.

After that my prayer life took off. I tried to imagine Jesus sitting with me and listening to me as a friend would. There is no wrong way to pray. Prayer is communication with the Lord. I am sure I cam ramble and babble with the best of them.

I am so glad that you have joined us.

Glad to have you with us and certainly we will help. God gives me so many blessings that I thank him for daily and I too still struggle in my prayer life. I tend to let stress overwhelm me instead of laying it at his feet and let him guide me. Good luck in reaching your goals and always here if you need me.

HELLO TO ALL:

I am new to this team. I hope you all will let me join for I really need the Lord in my heart and to pray. Actually to learn how to pray. I was raised catholic and only know some of their prayers. So I repeat them all the time because thats all I know. Hopefully you all will help me learn how to pray more to the Lord than the same 4 prayers I know. I know that sounds stupid but I actually don't know how to pray and ask and tell the Lord what an awsome
God that he is.
