Thanks for the support, I know I sent a private message to some of you earlier but thought I'd try responding to the post this time instead. I'm still getting the hang of the site. One reason I returned to Sparkpeople was to take advantage of the awesome support system they have built into their site. I look forward to getting to know some of you better.

emoticon back,

This is an awesome and supportive team and an amazing site. I find the nutrition and fitness trackers invaluable. Try to take one day at a time and remember we are all in this together!

hi we are so happy to you back with us . like an old friend we can get down to basic talk . yes , ladies do talk differently then we talk when we are with our mates . I have so many things i do not like to tell or talk about with my hubby . I find i am emotional at times and he says that time of month . now he is way of wack . it has not been that time for over ten years or more . food or lack of it can cause a whole host of problems . lack of water can also lay you low . you think you are hungry when all you need is a good drink . water that is . we welcome you . emoticon

Hi everyone. This will be my third time returning to Sparkpeople since I discovered it in 2008. I guess there's a reason I keep coming back, maybe there's still a little hope of success left in me. I would like to lose at least 60 pounds and it really seems impossible sometimes. I think Im mostly tired, tired of counting calories, of watching EVERYTHING I eat, of trying to figure out an exercise program I can stick to and mainly Im tired of hating my reflection especially when Im not dressed! I'm 60 years old, a retired high school biology teacher. I retired in 2008 because I was driving about 140 miles a day to and from work and really wanted to spend more time with my husband Rod. Rod is 7 years older than I am and is a type 1 diabetic. I was widowed at age 47 and realize that time is the one thing you never can replace so I was glad we could afford for me to retire at age 55. I really miss the kids though, I loved teaching. The biggest challenge I have is boredom. I live in a pretty small town (around 5,000) and the nearest city is 90 miles away. Before my second marriage in 2002 I always lived in big cities so this was really a change for me. I don't have any friends here, I think it would be easier if I had someone to walk with or talk about "women" things (like weight loss) that I don't feel comfortable talking with my husband about. I have arthritis in my knees and I think now it's also in my left foot so exercise is a challenge, mainly I walk - a LOT but now my foot hurts so I'm not sure what's going to happen with my exercise plan. I came back to Sparkpeople this time in the hopes of finding encouragement and maybe finding some other women I could have an email friendship with. Check out my SparkPage, there's lots more info there (you can tell I'm bored). I probably wrote a lot more than I should have for an introduction but I also like to talk - even if it's in writing emoticon
