It sounds to me like you've already HAD all the exercise you need in one day. Congratulations on withstanding "shopping with the wife." you're strong!

By the way, you deserve (and probably need) the nap!

Hugs, Eve

That was such a wonderful area to grow up, with all the history and beautiful scenery. In school we used to get field trips to New York City, to Philadelphia, to Baltimore and to DC. So many things to do and see in all those wonderful cities, as well as Gettysburg battlegrounds, and Winterthure, And Longwood Gardens in Pa. And the early Dutch towns in southern Delaware. I try to revisit some of them whenever I get back there. If you get into Delaware, be sure to visit "The Charcoal Pit" on Rt 202. That place has been there since I was in high school in 1962, and had been an establishment for years before that. Great "50s atmosphere, terrific hamburgers and shakes, malts and sundaes. (Suspend your SP calories for just one meal and enjoy!). It used to be way out on the highway but the city has crowded it in and it is harder to find. It is a few miles south of the De/PA border, on 202.

You make me homesick! Keep in touch and let me know what your favorite spots are.

Have a great time at the reunion. Are you working on a weight goal for that? It is great motivation to stay on track. Be sure to spread the word about SP while you are there!

After a very long time, I thought I would check in and update my status, and say Hi to anyone still there who remember's me. I am doing well, have had some setbacks, but not in the weight loss department. My goal has always been my Sparkpeople name, Iwillbe145. I am able to see the goal line now, I weighed in this morning at 152. I still have nearly 10 lbs to go, and I can see by my belly that I will want to continue loosing until I have a waistline again, but I am so happy to have come so far.

Hi, Charlotte; I was a Navy junior :-) and both my parents were born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. My great grandparents are buried in Boise and I'm hoping to get out that way some spring here, get some more genealogy done :-)

I grew up on both coasts but consider that I grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. I have my 40th high school reunion there in 3 weeks.

Now I'm in Joppa, just northeast of Baltimore on I-95, near Aberdeen Proving Ground? Red Lion's just across the PA border, directly up from Baltimore on I-83. Since I'm "above" Baltimore a bit, I can wander across country to it, almost sideways :-)

My DH has a brother up in PA, over in Audubon. We wander up there for Thanksgiving and mid-Christmas week to visit them; it's only an hour-and-a-half or two now that we're north of Baltimore instead of south. We were down by Columbia, near where DH's three sons live.

Thanks, it's nice to hear from you. I love Pennsylvania. I had relatives in or around Media, Wallingsford, Swarthmore, Gettysburg. My cousins are now in Harrisburg. I have a great time playing tourist every time I come back. I am not familiar with the Red Lion area, is it north of Philly? I hope you are having weather as nice as ours is right now.

I've just got to get out and work in the yard while I can.

Did you get any kite flying in this summer? Where do you go to get enough space and wind? Enjoy!

Charlotte

I'm "From" Wilmington Delaware, right between you two, but I haven't lived there for 45 years. I was a Navy wife, we moved all over before retiring to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. My ex has passed on, I'm retired and love this area, but still enjoy going back to Pa and De and NJ for my HS reunions every five years. I was back there this time last year, we had it in September and the weather was beautiful.

What part of MD? Are you around DC or out in the beautiful countryside? I love the Eastern Shore, we used to go crabbing when I was a kid.

Keep in touch!

Ah, I know Red Lion! Was just up there the beginning of summer on a drive. I'm down in Maryland.

Geocaching? That's cool. If the early surveyors (Washington, Banneker, etc.) could see us now :-)

Welcome Papasnapdragon! I love new members, and especially those that will post and keep things lively!

Now, tell me -- how did you figure out a name like Papasnapdragon? There must be something behind it. As for me, I'm mostly a Scot and of course I'm a mama, so there you are = SCOTMAMA. But you can call me Eve!

Hugs & Welcome! Eve emoticon
