Hello! My name is Amanda and I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am 5'9" and almost 240 lbs. This is the heaviest I've ever been! I am going to talk to the OB on tuesday and will talk about exercising. I know it's good to do, I'm just nervous because I haven't exercised in almost a year. :-(

Also, is there someplace here on SP that we can check off on our account that we're pregnant?

~Amanda

My goals:
1) To be greener, eat cleaner, and exercise meaner!
2) Lead a healthy lifestyle to extend the life of my kidney transplant! 1/26/12
2) Lose weight so we can start thinking about starting a family! BABY FIT!!

Hi, my name is Hope and I am 5 weeks pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for 4 years, and have finally managed to get to this point. I have managed to loose 75 pounds, which I think went a long way to us getting to this point. So I really want to stay active and not gain all that weight back. I know that using the spark tips and with support, I can manage my weight and still have a healthy pregnancy.

Hi Everyone! I am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first baby and am interested in small changes I can make that will get me ready for delivery. I am hoping to have a natural birth and need all the tips I can get! While I'm still having morning sickness, I'm so excited when I can actually keep something down that I eat and eat and eat...and have gained 7 pounds already :(. Still no baby bump though, just a food baby. I'm also vegetarian but somehow find a way to cram enough carbs into my days to keep my waistline growing! I'm excited to start out on a new, healthier foot for the second half of this pregnancy.

Hello everyone! My name is Michelle and I am 11 weeks pregnant with my second child. I lost all the baby weight from my first child before I got pregnant again(they will be almost 4 years apart). I was not very healthy with my first pregnancy however and gained more weight than I wanted to. I also had gestational diabetes. My goal with this pregnancy is to keep up with eating better and trying to stay active so I can hopefully prevent gestational diabetes and maybe not gain quite as much weight with this one. I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Team :)
I'm 9 weeks pregnant today and barely lost any weight before getting pregnant, about 25lbs. But I've been trying to lose weight for over 10 years and have been seeing 2 different doctors regularly and still haven't been able to lose. Of course, found out I have hypothyroidism and a few other health issues last year, but I thought once I got everything into the good ranges, I'd start to lose. Still no luck, but had been eating healthy and going to the gym (to lose that 25lbs) and the doctors felt it was safe for me to finally have a baby. My OB is thrilled, I've had 2 ultrasounds and blood work and everything has been great/perfectly normal.

Morning sickness has kept me from the gym and on a diet of strange meals, whatever I can stand eating without feeling sicker (OB approved), but I look forward to getting back to the gym - at least into the pool!

Anyway, wanted to say hi. :)

Hi all, well, I didn't lose all the weight I wanted to before getting pregnant, but I'm now 8 weeks along and scared I'll pack all 50 pounds back on. I've been too exhausted and nauseous to get to the gym in the mornings. But I really need to get back at it. And I have my first ultrasound appt today. Soooo anxious and nervous.

I'm Trix and I just found out that I am pregnant with my fourth baby. A little unexpected but very happy to be expecting again. I was on the road to losing 100 pounds but now that has to be put on hold until after the birth of the baby. But I still need the support to stay healthy and exercise during pregnancy, that's why I am here today. Have a wonderful day!!! emoticon

I'm Quill. I'm 30 years old and 10 weeks along with baby #2. I gained a lot of weight with my first pregnancy (he's almost 3 now and I've managed to get it off, slowly by surely) and I'm trying to stay on track a little better this time around. We normally eat a fairly healthy "diabetic-friendly" diet in our house, but lately I've been put off meats and craving carbs like crazy. I'm also dealing with morning sickness (although usually at night) this time, so hopefully that passes soon.

Hi everyone, I'm Fei and I'm 10 weeks pregnant!! This is my first time and I'm actually nervous! I weighed 130 lbs before and already gained 4,4. I don't know if that's normal but I'm a bit disappointed. I can't help but eat more carbs now and food that's 'not so healthy'. My doctor said I can walk and do some pilates and yoga. I'd love to hear how do you guys keep up?

Hello. My name is Autumn and I am married to a wonderful man named Jacob.
We are currently nine weeks along and due on October 1st.
If this one survives, it will be the first child my husband and I have had together.
(My last rodeo was over 20 years ago... geez!)

We miscarried at 10 1/2 weeks in September of last year, (our fourth miscarriage in 2 1/2 years.)

If you are a praying person, please pray for us.

Hello, I am new. I am almost 13 weeks pregnant with my first child and dealing with morning sickness. I started out pregnant overweight so my goal is to eat healthy (for baby), get some workouts in and NOT gain any weight (per the doctor) though they said if I gained 10-15 lbs at the end when the baby was larger, that was probably okay. I've lost about 6 lbs from morning sickness so far.

I haven't been working out as consistently as I like (I find myself getting sick in the evenings and too tired to get up early before work) but am trying to work on that. I am really hoping the morning sickness goes away. I haven't been as tired so hoping that my energy levels are going to return to normal soon. I also have two other children (legal guardians) that are older so it it's hard to squeeze in workouts. I am going to try and see about getting more frequent but shorter workouts in. I also want to do the prenatal yoga video I bought more consistently.

I am hoping to find some people in the same boat; need some motivation for these workouts.

Hi. I just got married in August and in November I found out I was pregnant. I am 15 weeks along and just got over all day every day sickness for 13 weeks.

I have not yet returned to a regular exercise schedule, but I am working on it. I am having a hard time re-focusing as before this I was sooooo focused on losing weight (which in 2013 I lost 32 pounds and 9 inches around my waist) and now I have to see numbers go up... I am kind of scared. My goal is to only gain 15 pounds (my doctor did okay this as long as the baby is healthy and growing at a healthy rate) keeping in mind that I may gain more. I also want to be active so I can have a natural birth and also so that I can lose the baby weight easier after the baby is born and an additional 15 pounds.

I am here looking for other moms to be, friends, and any advice or suggestions they have for staying fit during pregnancy.

I currently use the elliptical, I want to get a pool pass at our holiday inn for water aerobics, I am getting into jogging (I was a runner before I got pregnant and doctor did okay JOGGING), and walking outside when it's nice. Nebraska winters - I don't like, when it's not snowing the wind is going 50+ mph and is bitter cold.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I am 38 and 6 weeks pregnant with 4th child. I just had a miscarriage in October and am a bit nervous. Since October I have gained 10 pounds from emotional eating and now I am freaked out. My trend with weight gain and pregnancy has been 50-75 pounds emoticon I do not want to gain more than 20 pounds this time around.

Does any one know if calorie tracker can be customized or food plan customized for pregnancy and if it can how do you do it. please feeel free to spark email me with this info. Thank you so much!!!

Hi everyone,

I am 35 and 9 weeks pregnant with my first child. I went into this pregnancy pretty fit (cycling, running, weight training), but things have come to a grinding halt these past few weeks with dizziness, nausea, work travel and minus 30 degree celsius temps outside. I am typically a motivated person, and I do want to be fit throughout, but am finding it really challenging.

Any tips? What were your experiences?

Cheers,

Kelly

Hey! I'm 12 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child! With the first one I gained around 57 lbs. I used spark people to help me loose that weight and was doing very well maintaining. We'll so far with this pregnancy I've been VERY sick ... The sum of what I can keep down is lemonade, cereal and something like chips occasionally... HOPEFULLY the morning sickness is almost over but I've still already gained about 6 lbs even with it. I need help and advice (ill take any ya got!) to not gain so much weight this go round'. Thanks!!

HELP! I was just getting back on track with my fitness goals when I realized I was prego. My first trimest was a disaster as I was sick and exhausted all the time. I am feeling better now (week 15) and want to get back into a routine but IDk what to do or how to find the motivation!

Hi there! I've been Sparking since Jan 2012, and have been able to lose nearly 50 lbs! I recently found out I am finally expecting my 2nd child. A Boy, due March 7th, 2014. I have an older son too(now 8). We are all very excited about the new baby coming, but given I've spent the last 1 1/2 years trying to lose weight, I'm realizing that staying healthy and staying in my "Spark" groove is very important to me. I've been heavy most of my life, and eventhough I'm preggers, I don't want to throw all of my hard work out the window. I'm excited to hear how everyone else is staying healthy!

Hello fellow mamas! I am Amber and am 11 weeks preggo with our first! Yay! I am really struggling with morning sickness and seem to have food aversions to ANYTHING healthy and what used to be my normal, pre-pregnany diet. I can manage to get a green smoothie down but then I all I really want to eat are crackers, chex mix, toast..basically carbs. I've always been a carb junkie, but could control it and properly portion. Before pregnancy, I ate very well and exercised 4-5 days with weight lifting a couple. Have any of you had to change your entire meal plan? The calories add up fast eating chex mix and sesame sticks. I cannot eat chicken anymore, which was my go to lunch most days, on top of greens. Some days, I cannot even eat lunch, so it is crackers or whatever sounds good at the minute. Veggies and hummus do not sound good for a snack anymore.. I am scared to weigh myself, but I know I have gained. Though, my jeans still fit, barely! I have been soo tired with the first semester and can barely workout after work...let alone do anything but collapse. I know that I should be feeling better in a couple weeks with more energy and so am trying to get a handle on things now so will be back in the habit to track and workout. How have all of you dealt with the pregnancy changes? I feel like my whole world has changed and the baby isn't even here yet! Any advice would be appreciated!!! emoticon

Hello everyone! I'm Madeleine and I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby! So far, I've had it pretty easy (knock on wood!), and gained a very respectable 17lbs. Pre-pregnancy, I was a half marathoner and Paleo follower, so I'm obviously a pretty health-minded gal.

I'm mostly interested in keeping myself as fit as possible to prepare myself for a non-hospital birth -- I'm going to need to keep my stamina up!

emoticon Hi everyone! I am currently 5 weeks along- due Jan 29th 2014!
This is my second child- my son just turned 10. So this is like starting all over for me but I am excited about the ending arrival. I previously lost almost 60 pounds and was entering maintenance when I found out I was expecting. I am focused on eating heathy but had to seriously increase my calorie intake this week since the doctor told me I was not eating enough. I plan on continuing my current workout until my second trimester ( I am doing PT 24/7 with Billy Blanks)

I look forward to talking to other ladies and getting some support

Enjoy the journey.. it is a ride worth taking!

Hi!. I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my third. Due in late December. Starting out a bit on the heavy side, but so far have not gained. Hoping to keep to a healthier gain with this pregnancy, unlike the 60 pounds I gained in each of my previous pregnancies.
With my first two, I pretty much gave myself carte blanch to eat whatever I wanted. With this one, especially already being a good 45 pounds above my ideal weight, I'm being much more careful. That's not to say that I haven't indulged a bit, but I hope to keep it more reasonable this go round, and am hoping that by being in a supportive group, I can keep myself in check.

Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and I am 30 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have managed to only gain around 10 pounds this pregnancy which is awesome! However I didn't start out at a desirable weight. I went through 8 rounds of steroids which made me gain a ton of weight right before I became pregnant this time. However, I knew that I wanted to do a better job about maintaining a healthy weight during pregnancy this time around and have been very conscious of my choices! I hope to begin a healthy weight loss journey after the baby. I do not expect fast results but I also know the weight isn't going to melt off (like I had hoped for the first time around!)

Hello,

My name is Andrea and (hubby and I) just found out we are expecting our second little one just a couple of days ago. I'm so excited and so overwhelmed! Our first child, is only 14 months old and we were not planning on trying to conceive for at least another 6 months to a year. So, we are definitely surprised by this big news. A little about us, before conceiving our little girl back in 2011 my husband and I were on a weight loss journey together. He lost 130 lbs and I lost 54 lbs. It was amazing! We counted calories and we kept active. We both felt the best we had ever felt physically. We were excited and surprised when we were blessed with our little girl! We were told that given how high both of us weighed (him 400, me 223) and some other female problems that it would be very hard for us to conceive and pregnancy may not be possible for us. Haha, God had other plans!

Unfortunately, during the last couple of months of my first pregnancy I gained a considerable amount of weight. I have struggled in losing the weight since giving birth to our daughter back in January of 2012. My husband and I predetermined that today, April 1st that we would get back on track and really lose the weight again. We had planned on doing a fruit/veggie cleanse to reset our systems. However, with our news this weekend that we are expecting I'm nervous about doing a "fruit/veggie cleanse". I really really need to lose weight. I am 5'3 and weigh 209. I'm scared to death about continuing to be obese and pregnant this time around. I want to be healthy!!! I want to be healthy for my children. I just need help! If anyone, has any info on how I can lose/gain sensibly and have a healthy pregnancy..I am all ears! Okay, well...maybe I'm all eyes...given that I'm reading :)

Thanks for reading! Hope you all had a great Easter!

Hello,

I'm Elaine and I'm also 30 wks (due Nov. 20th) prego with a lil boy! I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes 2 weeks ago. After drinking that sweet orange drink, my BS level was supposed to be under 180 and it was kinda 297. :/ So I now have to be on this crazy diet, healthy but crazy, and prick my fingers 4x's a day til I probably give birth. Doesn't help that my husband eats num num food in front of me, but he is learning. haha! Doc said I'll probably get induced 2 weeks early and to just pretend I'm 32 weeks instead...SHHEEEEESSHH!!

On a good note, I believe my son is training to become a ninja while chillin' inside of me! The kicking and punching NEVER ends, so he'll be a ninja with ADD. lol...

I'm excited and my birth plan is just get 'Noodle' out of my tummy as safe and healthy as possible via C-section or thru my Hoo-Haa. Good luck with everyone and their little ones-to-be! :)

Hi
I'm Tasha and 30 weeks pregnant with my first. I have been struggling with nausea for my entire pregnancy. It started at week 3 and is still going strong. I've tried 3 different prescription medications and every natural remedy that I've heard of and now I can keep food down, but still spend a lot of my day feeling sick. This baby had better be damn cute!

My little girl is due October 22, but since I have a blood clot disorder, I will probably be induced earlier. I'm also on daily injections of blood thinners during my pregnancy.

I've been off work since February on paid preventative leave (yay Quebec!) since I work with young children who can expose baby to viruses. It's a big adjustment, especially since I also have 50 weeks of mat leave after baby comes. I feel like I'll be off work forever!

So far the pregnancy has been far from enjoyable, but I'm excited to meet baby girl :)

My name is Bryana and this is my second, although unplanned and unexpected, pregnancy. I am already overweight, so my goal for this pregnancy is to maintain until the mid second, third trimester. My overall goal is to gain no more than 15 pounds. I have a blog that I keep, www.oursommlife.com , but I haven't discussed this pregnancy yet as it is still too early. I hope to get support from this forum.

Hi,

I'm 46, mother of 4 1/3 kids, & finally feeling better. During my 1st 2mos I was very tired & often felt sick. My energy is returning, & my stomach seems to have settled. My goal for this pregnancy is to hold my weight gain to roughly 30lbs. I gained over 40 with my last one & kept ...more than I would have liked, but not really more than I kept from being pregnant with his brothers. In the years...many years since my last pregnancy I discovered SparkPeople & have been working on my healthy habits & increasing exercise while working at more sedentary job than I used to have.

I'm looking forward to having more help from my big kids with this baby. I'll need that to give me time for postpartum exercise in my 4th trimester.

My Motto:
'I've got to live in this body until I die, so I'd better see to it that I'm fit enough to have some fun.'

Motto: I have to live in this body until I die, I'd better make sure I'm fit enough to have some fun. :)

After 2years of infertility, finding out I had a tube blocked and getting that tube removed on valentines day....the doc said the outcome did not look good...and ivf would be the next step. BUT AGAINST ALL ODDS...my hubby and I found out we are expecting (we did it naturally). Due date early Feb. I screamed when the test came up positive and the neighbors thought I was being attacked(lol) then I ran out and got 3 more test just to make sure.

So I am 5weeks prego (today) and am loving every min of it.

Hi everyone! I'm 11 weeks into my first pregnancy. Took us three years, many failed fertility treatments (including 3 IUIs and 2 IVFs), but we finally got pregnant thanks to acupuncture and herbs. I've been on SparkPeople for a long time now. I was down to almost my goal weight before I started all the fertility treatments, many of which made me feel crappy or recommended against exercise during attempted implantation period. Right before I got pregnant, I was right back where I started, weight-wise when I joined SparkPeople (although probably with more muscle!)

I go to belly dance class an hour a week and have been walking four miles once a week with a friend (though we've missed a lot of weeks due to one thing or another). I've also been practicing for a dance performance next weekend. Since I've been pregnant, I've been much more tired and so haven't been exercising as much. I've been trying to keep up the healthy eating, at least, though I crave starchy carbs when I'm sleepy--and I've been sleepy a LOT lately. Getting a little better now that the first trimester is almost over and the doctor upped my thyroid hormone dose a bit. Hoping to keep healthy during the pregnancy. Looking forward to hearing your experiences and sharing encouragement with all of you!

Hi! I am 22 weeks pregnant and having difficult finding the energy to exercise. I feel pretty good during the day, but am discouraged when senior citizens can go faster than me on the treadmill or elliptical. I have gained 8 pounds so far during the pregnancy. I look forward to hearing from others dealing with the same struggles and joys of pregnancy.

I just found out 2 weeks ago that I am expecting baby #2. I already have one son (age 7), so it has been a long time!!! With my son my start weight was 187 lbs, already overweight, and I just ATE, AND ATE! All the way up to 240 lbs when I delivered. Four months after giving birth I weighed in at 145lbs and I lost all the weight the wrong way (starvation and over exercising). So obviously the weight came back and in December of 2010 I weighed in at 184lbs. I knew it was time to get serious about my health after my father passed away Dec. 27, 2010. He was only 49 years old and way to young to leave us. I realized how unhealthy my life had become. I started my spark journey in Jan. 2011 beginning at 184 pounds and by Feb. 2012 I weighed 136 pounds!!
Now that I am pregnant I want to gain only what is neccessary, not too much and not too little. I still track atleast 6 out of 7 days a week. I continuing to work out 5-6 days a week and strength training.... Just am really worried about keeping on track because I know how easy it is for me to go overboard and eat just for the fun of it...

I may have introduced myself here before ... but during the 1st trimester I definitely fell off the SparkWagon ... I was so nauseated I knew I was keeping my intake under control.

But this morning, I'm up 7.6 pounds at 18 weeks ... I'd rather only gain about 15 pounds for the entire pregnancy - so that's a little too far along for how far along I am!

I'm trying to get back to tracking my food, and working back in my workouts. I plan to walk and to keep doing my wonderful prenatal yoga DVD workout.

Hi everybody. I'm new to this team and wanted to say hello. I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my first. My due date is August 27th. Was on spark before we got pregnant and am trying to get back into the habit of eating healthy. Hoping to get clearance from my OB to resume working out next week (light stuff of course like walking, gradually getting back up to 2 miles a day).

My appetite was pretty bad during my first trimester and I got into the habit of eating junk/fast food. I know I need to get back to eating sensible, healthy whole foods again. I know I will gain during the pregnancy but I plan to do it in a healthy way.

Hello. I've been a member of SP for a few years now. I stopped logging in as soon as I found out I was pregnant! When I probably needed it the most :/

Currently I'm 27 weeks 4 days! Almost entering third trimester! Due May 24th. Everything has gone so well with this pregnancy, thank God. At my last OB visit 2 wks ago I was up 23 lbs. It's not terrible, but I was already pretty heavy when I got pregnant, so I'm petrified of the ending result!!!

I'd love to make new friends on here. Good luck to you all!

Hello! I'm Imelda, mom of Solana (5) and Chloe (4 in 2 weeks) and Baby #3 is due in August. We are excited about our August baby because we had two miscarriages in the last two years.

I gained 43 pounds with Solana and 34 with Chloe (lost all but 10 in between) and lost all and then some before we found out we were pregnant with #3. My official starting weight was 159 (I lost some at the beginning) so I'm hoping this pregnancy doesn't see me go over 180. I recently moved into a size Large for maternity jeans and I'm having a difficult time handling that. I hope to gain some good cardio ideas from this group. I used to do sprints on the treadmill and lots of weight lifting, both of which I had to stop for fear of another miscarriage. Well, this one has survived so I'm slowly easing myself back into a gym routine.

I'm Becky, Mommy to 2 lovely girls, 13 months and 4 years and took a test today that was positive for a number #3! You are officially the first humans who know other than myself (even my husband doesn't yet, he's just left home to go back to Afghanistan last week for another 7 months - left me a growing gift!) and I'm excited! I had some 30 lb weight loss plans and have been quite excited about SparkPeople and my only disappointment is that I won't be able to loose some weight prior to #3. BUT, I'm ready to take this pregnancy healthy and not gain too much, and be fit after I've stayed pretty much the same pre/post pregnancies with my first two... but had the extra 30 before #1. This little blessing is due Oct 14!

Hello - I'm Audrey and I just found out I'm pregnant with our 4th... oy! ha. My kids are 7,3, and 14 months... I also feel like I just did this! Fortunately, I was able to get off 50 pounds last year, but unfortunately I'm still approximately 80 pounds overweight and very nervous about gaining more on top of this! Hoping this time around I won't gain more than 15 - maybe even healthily lose weight. I'm due August 26th - praying for success!!

Honestly, I'm just watching what I'm eating and {mostly} eating well. I'm cooking more meals at home, and paying more attention to what I'm buying and eating. The months of morning sickness in the beginning helped with the weight loss. And I'm working out 6 days a week, except for this past week when we've been trying to recover from a cold. I found an awesome prenatal cardio video that has a sculpting segment that I love doing. And I do a WATP workout on the in between days. And I'm drinking tons of water. I aim for 3-4 liter bottles a day.

With my first two, I didn't pay much attention to anything, and the only exercise I got was walking to work every day with my first and with both, I ate what ever I wanted, and it was usually fast food.... With both those pregnancies I ended up gaining 20-30 pounds each.

THESHOEFITZ -- First CONGRATS!!!

I know how you're feeling. My first two are a week shy of 15 months apart. It's tough at first. Takes a lot of patience and time, but in a year or two, it will be so great!! My oldest two are best friends and wouldn't know what to do without each other.

I got pregnant with my first on the pill, and there were no issues with that. As long as you've stopped taking them and you let your doctor know. But, I think you'll be okay.

Best of luck to you!

Well, I just found out today that I'm pregnant with our second. I'm not sure how far along I am but I'm guessing between 4-8 weeks. This was 100% unexpected as I was on the pill. I really hope there are no complications because I was taking the pill, I'm making an appointment asap to find out.

I think I've gotten over the shock. My daughter turned 9 months today. I can't believe my kids are going to be about 18 months apart. Is that too close? I feel like I just did all this a month ago. I can't believe I'm doing it again. I love my daughter, and I'm starting to get excited about having another. My husband was SO excited when I told him.

But it means I'll be giving up my marathon goal this year. I do intend to run all the way through my pregnancy. But I'm not sure we're going to have enough money to make ends meet. It's been tight with one baby as my husband starts his own company.

I'm nervous. Excited. But I think still in shock. Anyway I just have to pray God will take care of all of it.

Whew. What a day.

Hi,

I'm pregnant for the first time, 17 weeks now. Baby is due for 22 June. Me and my partner are really excited and happy!
My goal is to eat healthy so that baby gets all the nutrition baby needs!
I was a bit overweight before the pregnancy so i'm not allowed to gain to much weight.

I hope together we can reach all our goals.

Hello!
My name is Sara and my husband and I are pregnant for the second time with our first child after trying for 11 months. Getting through that miscarriage brought us much closer and prepared us for conception very shortly after. We are very excited even though my doctor has put me on both bed rest and pelvic rest since it was less than 2.5 months that we miscarried; she is wprried this one could to the same way. We are 6 weeks and 4 days as of 1/12/2012, and our approximate due date is 9/2/2012. We are very excited because this will be almost exactly between our birthdays . emoticon

Thank you all for being an outlet and guide through this pregnancy!

Hi! My name is Mitzi and I'm 9.5 weeks pregnant. Had a miscarry in Feb and been trying since then. So far so good now. :-) I'm not on here very often but like would like to chat with other pregnant women who are trying to be fit and also just to learn stuff. Everyone is different but I'm all about hearing what others do because you never know what will work. You never know what kind of tips you'll get from others. :-)

Congrats to all the other moms and dads and good luck to everyone! :-)

Hey all my prego buddies, myname is Allie I am 12 weeks along with my second child. My daughter is turning six next week so when my hubby and I found out we were having another we were very happy. I have been a spark member for a year now and with spark i went from 211-181 lbs now that i have gotten off bedrest from a threatened miscarriage. I plan to get back on track and have a healthy pregnancy. I really dont want to gain all that hard work back it would be depressing. So far ive only gained 3 lbs, as long as I can stay away from the chips and salsa ill stay on track. Damn those cravings. Hope we all have healthy pregnancy.

Hi! My name is Monique. I am 25 years old and 18 weeks pregnant with my second child. We are finding out what we're having at the end of this week.

I trained for a half-marathon before and during my first trimester, and I ran the race when I was 10 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, after the race I basically stopped exercising (I was having some pretty serious knee pain) and I've gained more weight than I'd like, not to mention I feel useless and out of shape. I want to get back to working out again, but I'm really struggling to make the time. I live in Boston and it is COLD, not to mention I have a toddler at home. So. I joined this team and I'm back to tracking my food intake on SparkPeople to get things under control sooner than later. I'm not trying to lose weight or anything like that, I just want to stay fit and healthy!!

Edited by: MONIQUEARIELLE at: 1/2/2012 (13:14)
I lost 78 pounds with SparkPeople and I've gained most of it back because I didn't make a PERMANENT lifestyle change; I'm back because I know the support here is an essential component to success. I'm practicing the EAT TO LIVE lifestyle and feeling healthier and happier every single day.

Hi all! My name is Janna. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my fourth son. I've been off and on SP for a while. I've been trying to maintain a healthy pregnancy and not gain too much weight as I was already over weight to begin with. Due to horrible morning sickness I lost close to 15 pounds. I've gained that all back and am slowly gaining more. Officially I am only 5 pounds above pre-pregnancy weight.
This pregnancy was a shock as I had an IUD in and was not expecting it. That caused its own set of issues and concerns and too add to that at 12 weeks I had to have a cervical biopsy as there was a concern I might have cervical cancer. Thankfully it was negative but that added to the stress.
I'm looking forward to meeting my little man in early March. While it was a shock, we've gotten past that and are now excited.
I'm committed to having a healthy pregnancy and post pregnancy. 3 weeks after my due date I have a bridesmaids dress to fit in. Hoping the measurements we took at 4 month along are accurate enough lol I dont want to over due it trying to lose too much too fast.
I hope everyone is having safe and uncomplicated pregnancies and healthy babies are in our future!

Hi everyone! My name is Natasha and I have been on and off SP for about a year (about the same length of time we have been trying for our "last" baby). So I am 6 weeks pregnant with our third baby (could be 3rd and 4th from the way my belly protrudes). This will be our last baby. I am currently 36 years old and will be 37 in February. We are due June 25, 2012.
I have been married to Tim for 10 years and we have an 8 year old girl and 3 year old boy. The spacing was not exactly deliberate. I work full time outside the home and look forward to my one year maternity leave (yay Canada!)
I lost about 10 pounds between SP, Metformin, and thyroid medication. I am allowed to gain about 10-15 pounds in total, since I am currently weighing in at 136 and am only 5'3". Skinny all over, except the belly. emoticon

Hi everyone, my name's Tanya and I'm 24 weeks pregnant. I'm an exercise physiologist and work in cardiopulmonary rehab, so exercise, nutrition and lifestyle modification is my specialty. I've been a sparkpeople member for years and love this site. Even with my background my weight gain over the past month has been a little fast so I'm hunkering down and watching everything closely. I am happy to have found a forum here that I can relate to. Here's to a healthy, happy pregnancy!

Hi there everyone! I'm currently sitting at almost 11 weeks pregnant with my first child, and doing good so far. Because I'm currently still overweight, my dr. has recommended no more than a 15 pound gain. Nausea has me firmly planted on the ground, as even the 15 minute walk around the block makes me sick. I've managed to lose just 1 pound, which my dr. assures me is still ok. Hoping to get back into the swing of things once I start feeling better.

Hi, I'm Jane.

I'm 27 or so weeks pregnant with my fourth. I don't quite trust the dates and my last period was at least 3 months before I conceived; nursing weirdness means I haven't had a regular period since before I got pregnant with my first, back in 2005. I have three little boys, 5, 3.5, and 1.5 years old respectively and very cute. The toddler is just learning how to talk and he's been rubbing my belly saying "bebe" -- not sure if he's saying "baby" because his brothers are always talking to the baby in there or "belly," but I suspect "baby" because we more often call that area a "tummy."

In January, I realized I weighed as much as I did just before giving birth and deciding something had to give. I lost 40 pounds before realizing I was pregnant and going on "maintenance." Because of my weight, ideal weight gain target is 0-10 lbs; so far I've been slowly, slowly losing, maybe 2 lbs a month, which is fine with my docs.

I actually joined SP when I was exploring online food diaries, but decided I liked caloriecount better and ignored SP for months. I largely stopped counting calories shortly after realizing I was pregnant when I realized I had a harder time eating as much as I needed to when I was counting. I came back to SP when I went looking for inspiration to keep me going -- I find eating healthfully and mindfully is much easier when I can hop on a scale and see results and when my clothing is getting looser than when I am trying to maintain my weight and skirts start getting tight again (because of bloat, at first, and then baby). So paradoxically, I guess, I've been using SP much more regularly now that I'm not actively trying to lose weight...

Despite my weight, I have had three easy, healthy pregnancies -- no high BP readings, great cholesterol and blood sugar, etc., and I am hoping for another. I had started working out as time permitted, which means 3-4 times a week for about 30 minutes at a time, about a month before getting pregnant, and was told I could continue whatever I was doing but shouldn't ramp up the intensity.

Hi everyone! My name is Kristen. I am 35 and have a 3 1/2 year olf little girl. I am pregnant with my second child, which is due Friday, April 13th! (kind of eerie! haha!)

Super excited but very anxious as well. I was very sick with my daughter and almost lost her early on. I also have hypertension and preclampsia and gained 80 lbs with her. I have been very active the past few years and plan to remain so throughout this preganancy. I am currently working out 5 days a week (3 days cardio - 45 mins to an hour and 2 days strength training - with a trainer). I have had more "morning sickness" so far this time but find that working out alleviates the nausea.

Looking forward to having you all as a support system! Best wishes!

Hello! My name is Ashlee..and Im 28 years old... Ive been married for about 2.5 years and we just found out we are expecting our first child looks like april 2012. It took about 4 months of trying, but it finally happened. I have my first DR appt in a few weeks and we are waiting to spread the news to anyone other than immediate family until then. So far so good though.. I've been more tired and my smells are heightened... but not too much nausea. Only thing Ive noticed is some mild achy/crampy feeling down there...I noticed it before I even got my BFP... thats what made me think I was preg because it was too early to be my period. I'm guessing there's just alot going on...anyone else have this feeling?

Hey Everyone!
My name is Courtney and my hubs and I are expecting our first child - a girl - December 16th! I miscarried a couple years ago, and after that went through a lot of changes, including working my butt off to loose weight! I lost about 20lbs this past year and then found out we were pregnant this past March. :) We are both over the moon, and a bit overwhelmed! We've been married for 3 years and have always wanted kids, but there's nothing like one on the way to point out all the stuff you don't know! haha.
I am now just shy of 24 weeks along, so almost 6 months, and am starting to feel pretty pregnant. Because of my bigger size, it's taken awhile for me to begin looking PREGNANT, and not just fatter! So I'm looking forward in some ways to that big baby belly. ;)
Things have been a little rough lately - but we're both very happy about this December and so excited to meet our Little! :)

Hello,

My name is Carine. I found out that I am pregnant for my second child and due in April 2012. I have extreme morning sickness all day, which with my son I was sick only once in the morning. I have just started taking Declectin which is working wonders. I can now eat. I wasn't able to eat anything before 1 pm or it would come back up. We are excited about this baby as our son is almost 4 and starting school next month. I am a little overweight, (180 pounds and 5"2') so I plan on eating healthy and starting to excersice again once things are a little safer. (I've had a miscarrige before and I don't want to overdue it and possibly go through that again.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. :)

Take care! XoXoX

Hi my name is Laura and I just found out last week that we are expecting our second child in april 2012. Over the past year and half I have lost 130lbs with the help of spark people. I am hoping to keep weight gain throughout my pregnancy low and I plan on staying as active as possible. Before Baby I was doing 30-60mins of cardio 5-6 days a week and 45 mins of strength training 3-4 times a week. I would like to at least keep up with cardio everyday and modify my strength training as I get further along. Although I am excited about this pregnancy I'm having a hard time transitioning from 1200-1500 calories to maintenance intake. I've played around with babyfit but personally i like spark people way better. Im glad that there is a spark team that i can find support through to help me stay fit throughout this pregnancy!

Just wanted to say hello. I'm 6 weeks pregant and this is my first and I'm happy and scared all at the same time. haven't been very active so far in the pregnancy, my boobs hurt too much to go for my usual run and they've grown a whole cup size or more already so none of my sports bras fit! I'm looking for a new sports bra and swimming costume in the next couple of days and just going for walks for now.

Welcome to the team and congrats on being pregnant. I know its hard when you have lost weight and then being pregnant to gain weight back. It all will be worth it and if you stay active during pregnancy and continue to eat right you will be ok. After the baby you will get back to your goal weight :)

Hi all,

My name is Rosie and I'm 7 weeks along. I had just reached my goal weight of 155 right before finding out I was pregnant and now I'm stuggling with the weight gain, bloating and fatigue. I totally feel like I'm in someone else's body right now, but I couldn't be more excited about our first child.

Looking forward to getting to know you all in the coming months!

Hello everyone! My name is Rachel and I am 19 weeks pregnant! I had some issues so I have not been allowed to work out until now. I was finally released and told just not to over do it. So I am back on the wagon and trying to get myself back on a mild routine that helps me feel good, have energy and keeps me from gaining more than baby boy needs!

Hi everyone!
I'm Laura and I am 38 and 7 weeks pregnant with my second child. Leading up to this pregnancy, I had lost about 23 lbs and just about reached the weight I was before my first pregnancy. I CANNOT gain as much weight as I did the first time around. At my current weight the recommendation is 15-20lbs and I am really going to try to keep it to that. It will be hard as my hunger has already ramped up to overdrive. I'm hoping that this team will help. I look forward to getting to know everyone and sharing this journey with you.

Hi everyone,

I have loved and used spark people in the past to lose weight successfully, but haven't been around in about a year since I completed (poorly! but completed!) my first sprint distance triathlon in Sept 2010. I have gained 20+ # so far, and am very dissatisfied with my body shape. My uterus is not in my butt. Why is my butt getting bigger!?!! Because I haven't been exercising enough, clearly! Anyway, I am on summer break now (teacher here) so I will be able to devote at least an hour per day to my workouts, thank goodness. I miss it.

Anyway, I could use some 'friends' and some support, so please add me if you'd like the same :)

Happy, healthy pregnancies to all!

Hello everyone!!! My biggest plans were my wedding that just happened this past September and my husband and I just recently found out that we are pregnant!!! I was totally shocked and now here we are 10 weeks later! We haven't told many family members yet. We just told my sister in law last night and I told my aunt last week. We plan on telling my mother in law this Sunday.

So far, I'm feeling fine. I'm grateful that I haven't had the morning sickness or anything. But I'm quickly running out of clothes to wear.

Cheers to all of you and I'm hoping that we all have healthy, happy pregnancies with beautiful babies at the end of it all..... emoticon

I'm also Michelle, and I am just shy of 36 weeks, with a little girl. I am 36 years old, and was unable to conceive for the 12 years of my previous marriage. Imagine my surprise when I got accidentally pregnant by my boyfriend of 5 months. As I had told him that we didn't need to worry because I couldn't get pregnant, it made for a very interesting conversation!!

But things turned out for the best, we have been happily married now for 6 months and looking very forward to meeting our daughter in the next month. Though, I confess I am starting to freak out a little as I think of everything I have to get ready yet, and as I realize that I have no clue what I am doing!!

~Michelle~

That's awesome! Congrats! I know what you mean about the parents giving up, I have 3 siblings and I'm the first to give them a Grandbaby in my 40's! Even I thought it would never happen! ;)

Hey! I'm Natalie and I'm 7 weeks. I'm really excited and I have my first Doc appt this coming Friday. My husband and I also told our parents we're pregnant on Mother's Day and it brought a tear to my mom's eye! We've been married 3 years today and I think both our moms had started giving up on us that we were ever going to try and have kids, so they were pleasantly surprised!!

Oh, thanks for the workout recommendation! I added yoga mama to my list at the library and will try that next. I just got the Dr. Oz DVD YOU having a baby workout. It has workouts for every trimester. I'll let you know how it is. I'm really struggling to get good workouts in. I was running a lot before getting pregnant but my doctor told me to take a break for a while and go for lower intensity exercise like walking, biking, swimming, water aerobics, and yoga/pilates especially for pregnant women. I feel totally lost most days either because I don't have a schedule or workout buddy or I'm so tired. I need to stop making excuses and start working out! Hopefully the DVDs are good.

Congrats! That is great day to find out on. I found out Friday the13th this time around, just a few days ago. Easy to remember. The first time with my son I found out on my b-day which is also my wedding anniversary. Funny how things work out sometimes!

Hi! My name is Kelly and I'm 9 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first. Trying my best to be fit and healthy but right now I eat mostly bland carbs because that's about all my stomach can handle. We told our parents we're expecting on Mother's Day and they were all super excited. We have our first ultrasound scheduled in 2 weeks and as long as everything goes well, we'll probably tell everyone then. That will put us a little closer to the end of the first trimester and feeling more secure. Other than the nausea, I feel good physically and great emotionally. I've never been happier! I'm happy to be on this team and looking forward to getting to know the rest of you and sharing this journey together!
