Hi Tanya, and welcome. I'm happy to hear that your hubby is coming home soon, was he deployed? What's you schedule like? I find it's easier for me to eat right if I plan out my meals. If I know I don't have much time to make something between school and work, I'll try to make something the night before so it's ready to go when I'm in a rush. That has helped me avoid fast food. As far as cutting out soda, it's hard. Especially if you drink a lot of soda. I was never really a soda person but iced tea and other sugary drinks were my weak spot. I have a brita pitcher and I try to keep it full at all times. When you're thirsty just try to take a step back and think about drinking water instead. That alone will help you lose weight! Soda has SOO many calories in it if it's not diet. Good luck! Your hubby will love you in your new dress. emoticon

Welcome! I know it is hard at first, adjusting to all the changes and trying to stay on track. I have already lost 20 lbs. before finding this site. Something that works for me is I give myself one cheat day every week where I can eat and do what I want. It helps to keep the cravings and binges at bay and also as I go along, I notice that I am steadily starting to make healthier choices on my cheat days as well as every other day because I am more conscience about the choices I am making and the affects they will have on me. Another good thing to keep in mind is when you do give in to temptation, eat slowly, putting the food down between each bite and try to chew each bite 15-20 times, taking time to savor every bite and you will see that it helps your body better trigger when you are full and you will stop eating as much so at least you will save some calories that way even if you do give in to fast food, or any unhealthy food for that matter. Also having a day where you are not so strict actually helps to boost your metabolism and keep you from hitting a weight loss plateau because if you are changing it up some here and there your body can't get used to just one thing because it doesn't know what's coming next. I hope I have been helpful. Good luck on your weight loss journey and just remember that if you believe in yourself everything will fall into place and I believe you CAN do it!!!

Welcome Tanya... I was afraid to read your reply and see what you were going to tempt me with. ;) Diet soda and fast food have been issues for me too. I did buy a 20 oz of Diet Pepsi today but I used to drink at least six 12 oz cans of Diet Coke a day. I feel a lot better drinking the water but I'm sure the caffeine withdrawal is going to kick in soon. lol As far as fast food... I did have that on Wed but I put it in my tracker as soon as I got home and I had less that night. It really made me feel as though I had wasted those calories eating something that wasn't even healthy to begin with. I think once you start thinking that way then it's easier to tell yourself no when you want to go through the drive through.

Again welcome and good luck on your goal! :) Do you have a dress in mind? Maybe that will help motivate you? :)

Hi everyone or anyone for that matter...
I'm Tanya I'm 33 mother of 3 with a lot of weight to lose. I'm just like everyone else I want to look the way I feel on the inside. I'm doing this for me and only me. I'm not sure I can do it but i'm trying. I started off in feb at 230lbs I'm now 220lbs hoping and praying for 199lbs by May 26th yes I know not realistic but even if I come close i'll be happy. I need to be able to wear a dress when I pick my husband up from the airport. I never wear a dress... On may 26th it will be 94 days since I've seen my husband 38 more days Trust me I'm counting. So I hope someone out here can help me stick to my goals as my flaws are fast food and pop. Among other things. Hope to talk to everyone about ups and downs of losing weight that has no right to be attached anymore...
