***SPARK TEAMS***

Like this SP Class of April 6-12, 2008, there are other teams for you to join. If you have a certain weight loss goal, affiliations, or hobbies, do a SparkSearch for teams that will fit your lifestyle. It's so much easier to succeed when you have supporters that understand you.
*To find a Sparkteam: on your home/start page, click on "Community" - "Visit SparkTeams" - then either "search by sparkteam name" OR look under "Explore Sparkteams" where there are many different categories to search under. When you find a team you like, click on "Join this team".
*You can also join a Sparkteam when visiting other members' Sparkpages - there will be links to all the sparkteams that member belongs to.


If you have questions about SparkPeople and how it can help you, here are your options:

***Go to "Community" - "Visit Message Boards" - "Get Help Here" and post under the correct forum - Fitness & exercise, Diet & Nutrition, Site/Technical Help...

***Post here on our Team under "General Team Discussion Forum", (please check first that your question has not already been answered in another thread)

***Don't hesitate in SparkMailing either myself or Kara (KaraSantona), your team leaders. We are both here to help you jumpstart your success!! If we do not have the answer, we will direct you to the right person/article/thread :)

Set up your own SparkPage to introduce yourself to your community and to let us know how you are progressing. This is a great place to share your goals, new information that you've found helpful, or even special events in your life.
*To creat a sparkpage: on your home/start page, click on "Community" - "Visit SparkPages" - "View or Edit your SparkPage"
*Under "Edit SparkPage" - "Sparkpage Options" you can choose: background & text colors, upload background image, allow comments on your page, share your food & fitness tracker...etc
*To add a weight loss ticker: "Edit SparkPage" - scroll to bottom of page - "My Weight Loss Ticker" - then choose your background, ticker icon, and whether to show your actual weight in lbs/kg (Start/current/goal) OR to show Pounds to lose/pounds Lost.


***SPARKPAGE BLOG***

Whether you post every day or once a week, a BLOG is another great way to update the community on your success! Share your monthly goals & plans, or even your thoughts/feelings along your journey -whether you had a good or bad day.
*You can add to your blog either through your "Sparkpage" - "Blog Entries" - "Add a Blog Entry" ~OR~ under "My Tools" - "Planner" - "Journal for: date".

Sparkpeople Tips & Tools to Use:


***NUTRITION TRACKER***

Many people 'think' they know what they are eating but are suprised once they enter their food into the tracker. Successfull weight loss and a change in your lifestyle means knowing what you put into your body and how it affects your system. Enter everything from fruits/veggies to those Oreos you snagged while your kids were snacking.

Losing weight and creating a healthy lifestyle does NOT mean deprivation!!! Eat what you want in moderation and know how it fits into your calories for the day and you will do fine!


***FITNESS TRACKER***

Learn different cardio and strength exercises that you can do throughout the day. You don't need to set aside 60 minutes of sweat time ... get started with 10 minute walks, taking the stairs, and learning strength exercises for your legs, torso, and arms that will help you burn more fat.


***Daily Challenges***

Kara & I will be posting a Daily Challenge in our "Goals & Challenges forum". It will be a great way for you to get to know the many different ways you can interact with SparkPeople! So be sure to check-in daily in that forum for fun-filled challenges!!
