Well today is August 2nd and I will try my best to get back on track. One day at a time and i will log my food in today. I will update my spark page today with new goals, write down why it is important for me to lose this extra weight. Right now my hip that was replaced years ago is aching. Good luck to the rest of us still here. emoticon emoticon Sandy

I can only walk so far. I am willing to walk more, but the nerve damage does not allow it. I just substitute for another activity with strength training like chair exercises or laying on the bed doing them, also strength training the same way. But try to do as much as I can standing/walking.

THREEOFAKINDKT....Sure hope you got some positive news about your feet and ankles. been thinking of you. Figured and in hopes you check back here to let us know. When your used to doing a certain amount of activity and can no longer get through it or do any of it, it really makes one feel less than. I know that for sure. For me it was hard to learn to change and adapt and keep your chin up about yourself but eventually I did.

Sounds like you have been through a lot! I fear I have been walking too much this Spring/Summer. It pretty much was an obsession for a while, with me walking an average of 8 miles a day. Now I have an appointment with a podiatrist tomorrow because of the pain in my feet and ankles. I feel like such a slacker when I don't get my steps, but I don't want to do damage to myself either. Wish me luck! :)

Glad to have someone else check in here. I too am starting over for a third time. had two separate health scares and had to be in hospital and rehab facilities for over 5 months the first time. getting out and walking as much as I can. Surgeries left me with nerve damage around my waist, legs and feet. Here's to getting back into the spark!

I told my girls Goodnight one night, and all but one was gone to heaven, by the next morning !
We never stop missing them, even though it has been 41 years this year.

Im back but not sure how long. its been a tough two years for me. I did manage to lose 60 plus pounds ... however I ended up gaining 25-30 of it back the last year. jumping back to things wish me luck

I came back in Feb 2015 and have started tracking some food, but mainly exercise. I don't get on the site much, because of no internet at home. I use the SP app to track most of the time and occasionally watch videos or read articles.

Hi, It was great to hear from you. You have such a great sparks page, I love the photos, It is fun to hear I'm not the only one that gains and then looses again. Seems like a real struggle some times, I think it has to do with all the metabolism and the energy that we have in our body to keep us on track with our exercise every day. You are doing wonderful in getting back on track for yourself. It is very hard when you have to work or have a job. Looks like you have a great hubby helper there with you.

The first part of this year my Dr. started me on thyroid, and blood pressure meds. I've known about the high blood, but when I couldn't keep it controlled I knew it was time for that. Ha. Never have had any health problem and when she took the blood test saw that my thyroid wasn't working or giving me what my body needed. After that daily little pill my weight has dropped some. Don't know how long the thyroid wasn't working, so guess it is helping somewhat staying down with my weight. I find it hard to get my fruit and Veggies in my diet as Sp tells us to do.Take care of yourself and I'll keep checking in on you once in a while just to see how you are doing. Keep up that good exercise and you will loose back to your goal weight. I am happy to see that some others are still on Sparks People when we both joined back in 2008. I did loose down to my goal when I went to my High School Class Reunion and I did gain some extra weight back when it was over. I would like to say that I stayed at that Ideal weight, but I can't to be honest. You have a wonderful week. I live in Sacramento, and it is suppose to be close to 100 F degrees on this Thursday. I think in Canada it would be somewhere like 26 C I will probably be outside Swimming. Thanks for your message. Virginia

I was away for a couple of years when I was close to my goal, and maintained it for a bit, but I've gained back half of my weight loss and now i'm back again! :) Looks like I shouldn't have left in the first place! You're doing AMAZING!

Well, I'm still active, Hope that some of you that joined the week of SP class of Jan 20-26, 2008 are still active and having a great time here. I hope that you have made your goals, that you set for yourself many years ago when joining Spark 6 years ago. I've had ups and downs maintaining,at least within 4 or 5 pounds but still pretty much the same. I feel healthy and active while doing all the things that are suggested here on this informative and helpful website of Sparks People emoticon
