Welcome to Spark. Yes, I understand that the older we get the less active our metabolism is. That means really watching the calories and exercising even more. Oh, well, I know this is good for me to stay young. Joann

I am over 40, in fact I just had a birthday last month. I feel that I am pretty active but it seems harder and harder to lose weight or keep it off as I get older. I would love to lose 30-40 lbs. I know that one of my downfalls is the portions I eat, but I have been trying to eat healthier and be more active. I have four children (24, 23, 17, 16), two married and 1 granddaughter. I have a supportive husband but he doesn't struggle much with his weight, like I have my whole life. I want to be around for a very long time to enjoy my family and to see it grow, not me!!!!
