I have just had a large wake up call this past weekend. The last two weeks I have experiences pain when exerting in my walking. I had pain in my arms to my elbows, indigestion, pressure in chest and back shoulder blade burning. I knew that I needed to have things checked out so I scheduled an appointment with my dr.

I went in to see him Saturday morning and he did NOT like the symptoms I described so he had his nurse do an EKG.The result was abnormal and showed some definite problems so he sent me to a heart specialist who wanted to see me in the ER right away. When I got there the first thing they did was another EKG which was a repeat of the one in the dr's office. The next thing I knew I was on a bed in an er room, surrounded by staff being prepped for a cath because they thought I was having a heart attack! This was really a scary feeling. I was wheeled to the cath lab and again surrounded by techs preparing me and the next thing I knew the dr was inserting the probe in my groin ( that hurts!) to check my heart! The results, Thank You Lord were normal, I have good blood flow but they were still concerned about my symptoms and EKG so I was admitted. I had more blood work which came back good and chest xrays which were normal so on Sunday I had a CAT scan of my lungs. The dr didn't expect to find anything because my lungs sounded clear so he was very surprised to find I have a bronchial infection. I am on predisone for one week and another blood pressure pill is added to my list of medication.

The results of all this besides the infection is I am living with too much stress in my life! I have known for quite a while that I have too many stressors but instead of making changes I have convinced myself that I can't change things and this is just the way my life is to be. Guess what? I'm wrong!!! I have to take care of myself first so I will be around to help my family and others. This was a wake up call!!! The next time it could be the real thing!!!!

I know this is long but I wanted to share with you all and encourage you to listen to what your body is telling you. We are the only one who can really take care of ourself. I know I'm going to try and some changes are going to take place! I don't want another scare like this again!!!

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in (me) will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Phil 1:6
