Congratulations on your first month! That is the hardest one to get through! Now that you have this month to get some healthy habit in place it should go better for you. Remember it takes 30 days for a habit to form. And I would say you have a get habit started!

4 pounds is great and you are so right! IT just does not come off as quickly as it used to. Temeber the days when we could just go for a good work out and get that pound or two off so that we could fit into those jeans for the weekend. I do and I sure can't do that anymore! LOL

But the good thing abotu the age is that we learn thta we have to eat right and have it become that habit and this way of living will last us a life time. We can and will succeed just as you have already proved! Great Job!

I have now been using the Sparkpeople site for 1 month. During that time I've lost 4 lbs. At 53 I have reconciled myself to the fact that weight just doesn't drop off like it used to, so I'm ok with 4 lbs.

I have been feeling pretty good about the changes that I've made and I feel that they are sustainable. There are definately still mornings that I don't want to get up and exercise, but so far I manage to over come my basis desire to go back to bed. I know that I wouldn't fall back to sleep anyway so really what is the point.

I have managed to find a morning routine that is pretty achievable, I get up at 5:30, make coffee, and sit for 1/2 hour. I have a little book with meditations and reflections that I read and think about. Then at 6 o'clock I leave the couch, get on my workout clothes and head to my basement. I have a spinning bike and a treadmill so I alternate which piece of equipment I use. This morning it was the bike. I have a few really great playlists that I use and manage to get in a great 35 minute workout. On treadmill days I am following the couch to 5K plan. I've made it to week 4. I'm thinking that I may actually be able to make it through the program, which amazes me.
So, that my story, I've decided to make a bit more use of the web site and get involved in some of the support groups.
