Hello there USAF! I was one of 3 women in my Division! Back then hardly any of us made it thru basic (the DI's didn't want ... girls so they were very tough on us). I am stubborn however ... and made it :). Being with the Infantry, we DID some PT now. Wish I was in that condition again. I may not make it all the way there at my age, but as long as I start feeling better I will be satisfied. It was an amazing experience to be in the Army back then and I am always happy to meet people who have served. Good luck to you and thanks again.

Hello ... and thank you for the welcome. Sounds like you are more lucky than most (or more disciplined :) to be at a good weight. Everyone can become healthier though and I wish you good luck with that. Health is everything, I have learned that lately the hard way ... like most everything else I learn! There are a lot of nice folks on this site. Good luck

Thanks for the welcome. I am so new to this (only been on a week) that I didn't even know to come back here to see responses until today. Tecno savy ... i am not :) but the first week is done and i think that's the hardest. As long as we keep going in the right direction, time will pass and we will eventually get there! Good luck

Thanks for your response to my PT blog. I am also very new to the computer thing ... so it would be the blind leading the blind. But the one thing I have found in the week :) that I've been on this site is that people seem eager to help. Good luck with your search for a sparkpeaple 'drill seargent' to help you train. I'm looking for one too! Sherry

Welcome and good luck!

I am a USAF vet - served in the USAF from 84 to 92 (Minuteman Combat Crew Commander and Command Post Controller). I was never very involved in PT (you know, coming from the AF!) I was used to running my 1 1/2 mile only once a year. I am basically on my ideal weight but way out of shape...I have learned to eat healthier from SP and some day I will restart my exercise routines...

Hi, I'm an Army Vet from the early 80's. I served in Bad Kreuznach Germany, home of the 8th Infantry Division Mechanised Headquarters Unit. I just joined sparkpeople last week ... but I like it already. I live in Texas and just wanted to introduce myself to this team ... and say today is my first day of PT in YEARS and YEARS lol ... wish me luck!
