But should I say "fortune"!? I'd just accomplished some visible progress with BP and weight loss when I was diagnosed with a much more serious,actually a quite grave condition... Still I made my mind NOT to give way to pessimistic probabilities. Believe me I felt that stamina thanks to the Spark as well. All the personal stories I've read, the advice, motivation and goal setting/achieving techniques and sharing... My participation in the Stress Busting Challenge and so on... It's great! Thank you SparkPeople! Thanks a lot!

I think it is learning about what goes into your mouth. I have learned so much logging my food. It doesn't take too long to learn that you do not want to spend a majority of your calories on high sugar and fat foods. It has become much easier to say no to those things because I don't want to log them. Also, you will see that you can personalize the food tracker exactly to the foods you eat, even the fattening ones if you like. I use to love the big breakfast at MacDonald's until I learned it was over a thousand calories. Now I just cook my own breakfast and I don't use butter or sugar. I have had to learn to sleep and exercise, also. I almost think I have to sleep well to eat well, then I have the motivation to exercise. I wish you well on your journey. I am going at my own pace which is a slow journey...but I am doing it. I hated exercise and now it is ok. Start getting all your sparkpoints on the sparkpoints page and you will be headed in the right direction with sparkpeople. emoticon emoticon

I have had a weight problem all my adult life. I like food but know that being accountable by writing it down is the only way to know what goes in my mouth. Thanks for any support you can give.
