Terasee, Welcome to "Sparkland" as I call it! From your intro it would seem you have your hands full with a move to a new state etc. I hope that the move is a great adventure for you and your husband, even though it is a bit scary leaving everyone and everything familiar behind.

I am glad you found this team and I hope that Sparkpeople give you the support and motivation that you need to be successful in your journey to be a lighter and healthier you!

Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.

Hi everyone...
I joined this group a couple of days ago, and I have signed up for the Biggest Loser challenge (still wondering about the rules) and I have posted on the diabetic thread. BUT it occured to me I haven't really introduced myself.
I am Terasee (tare' uh see) and currently live in South Central Texas. We are moving the first week in May to Roswell New Mexico (alien capital of the world) Yep! Moving home! hahhahaha!
I am 53, diabetic, married to Richard for almost 12 years (December). We are a childless couple, though we have been legal guardians, foster parents, and taken in strays (both human and animal).
I am a teacher by trade but am currently disabled due to my weight so I don't work outside the home. Although, I just recently resigned from a non-profit organization.
My husband is a radio newsman and the move to NM will mean more exposure and better pay and benefits. It will also mean pulling up stakes from our support system here. That kinda scares me a little.
We have finally found doctors who know how to work with diabetics, a church home that we love, and I recently got involved in water aerobics, which I truly enjoy! Yep. Exercise that is fun! Go figure.
So...that is me right now. The weight is coming off slowly...I hear that is a good thing, I am not so sure! (Can't I melt it off somehow????)
Anyway, I am glad to be here and Sparkpeople is not the easiest site to get acquainted with but once you is addictive!

What you resist...persists.
