Hello,

Welcome to the group. I was diagnosed type 1 in 2008 and so far, so good for me since initial diagnosis. It can be stressful...but sounds like you have an added exercise bonus. :) I love little ones, maybe because I can keep them for a few hours and send them packing back to mommy. :)

The group has been pretty quiet lately, but I hope to bring about some challenges or some questions later this week as co-leader. I took on the challenge of co-leader because I do not want this group to go away. We have a unique illness specific to us and we need a place to share our thoughts and motivations -no one else really understands us right? emoticon S

Hi! emoticon Welcome!

My boyfriend of 4years (who is also my best friend) has T1, which is what brought me here. Unfortunately he doesn't post much, but I find it encouraging and helpful to read the experiences of others with T1. I hope to see more people posting. The team hasn't been very active lately, but maybe some new blood will get people inspired to post!! hehe. emoticon

Hi everyone!!
My name is Amber and I'm a 24 year old type 1 diabetic since age 8. I went thru what my doctor says is now called diabulimia as a teenager so I know all about dka and self imposed high a1c. When I started college I tried to get healthy and back under good control but quickly lost motivation until I got pregnant with my now almost three year old son. I had an a1c in the 7s my whole pregnancy but as soon as he was born my glucose levels got difficult to control again and I've been in the high 8s and low 9s. I feel like I'm learning my body and this condition all over again. Im a stay at home mom currently looking for a job and I'm trying to get my weight under control and survive the terrible twos lol. I am excited to meet more diabetics to share experiences and motivation. It will be great to have a support system going thru the same things. Im looking forward to being a member of this team!
