Hello Skye,
Thanks for your post. :-) Yes, definitely an unexpected turn at age 40. That really hammers home the fact that it is an immunological thing, triggered by who-knows-what. (virus? probably) Cuz I have always been healthy as a horse otherwise. So it is sobering, & at the same time, it can always be something worse, right? I am thankful to have a condition that is treatable.....even if it is frustrating sometimes. Sounds like you have an incredible, positive outlook. Thanks for the support!

Welcome to the team! Type 1 at age 40?! That had to be a rude adjustment to make. Like many others on here I was dx'd as a kid (I was 9) and this is pretty much the only way of life I know.

Hello......I'm new to this forum. Type 1 diabetes for me at age 40....that was a weird turn of events! It has been 13 years now & quite an education. It is a daily journey that constantly changes. Happy to join you & learn from your experiences.
