Welcome Jenny!
Dirty trick isn't it? That insulin is so useful (okay, and life-sustaining) but it makes it just that much harder to drop a few pounds. I pretend sometimes that the harder it is too lose the better my BG must be, given that extended highs lead to weight loss, no loss must mean no highs? Yeah, its a bit of stretch but there must be a least a LITTLE bit of truth to it....

Thanks Rhonda!

I had been really doing well until the Physician's assistant didn't notice my weight loss or my lowered Cholesterol numbers. He deflated my balloon. Don't worry I told him. But now I'm back on my horse and I going strong!!!! BUT NO WEIGHT LOSS! SCREAM!!!!! But thanks for the encouragement and keep up your good work!

Hi Jenny nice to meet you...I have been on the pump for 5 years myself and im always trying to do better.Unfortunately it IS harder for people on insulin to lose weight.....before I got it under control I could lose 10 pounds in a week and one time I did it 2 weeks in a row.Now that I am in control of my disease (as much as any type 1 can be )LOL I find it so hard to lose even a pound ,Im not giving up EVER and will continue to battle the pounds and the disease..Keep up your gooid work. You gave me some inspiration Thanks Rhonda

Hi I'm Jenny. In May it will be 30 years since I was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic. 10 Years ago this past November was my last shot. I have been on the Minimed Medtronics pump since. I contribute my diabetes to many wonderful things in my life. If God had not chosen me to bare this cross I would definitely not be the person I am today. My two health and wonderful children are my reason for becoming determined to loose this weight. I am tired of weighing so much and of people telling who hard it is for Diabetics to loss weight. Without medicine I was able to lower my Cholesterol & Triglycerides considerably. BUT I WANT MORE!!!!

Any advice is welcomed. Especially advice on how to utilize this site to the best of my abilities!
