Wow...you have come a long way. Keep up the good work. I still fight it all the time, but have been on a roll lately. I would love to get it off and keep it off. My evening binges sometimes do me in. It has been my whole life.

Hi Nicole! Congrats on your weight loss! Controlling the binges is hard, but you've obviously started doing that very well. I'm sure you'll learn some new techniques and get lots of support here. Welcome to the team!

emoticon Nicole!! emoticon emoticon on your weight loss, that's great!! That is a huge accomplishment you should be proud of!

I'm a binge eater too and am also struggling to learn to stop, I think if I ever can I can reach my goal weight and stop yo-yo'ing.

Thandk LAURAG for your suggestions, and HALT info. I agree in your quote, it's in my signature!

First of all emoticon weight loss!!! You should be so proud of yourself!

You can end this!

Have you tried journaling your feelings when the urge hits?

Have you made a list of alternative things to do besides eat and posted it on your refrigerator? Then you just need to look at the list and pick something to do - no thinking involved.

Put up the sign H A L T in your pantry, in your fridge, wherever needed. It stands for
Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired
Before you eat think about if you are in one of those states.

Remember - If you are not hungry, food is not the answer"

Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and I'm 34 years old. I've struggled with a twisted relationship with food since I was about 8 years old. I remember when I was young, I would hide in the bathroom and eat massive amounts of Lucky Charms. When I got older, the binges grew to whole pizzas and bags of tortilla chips while my dad went camping, or stopping on the way home from class at a drive through for a dinner before dinner. As an adult, I have spent many days and nights attached to my fridge and the kitchen cabinets, eating in a daze, feeling sick and ashamed afterwards. I have lost 140 pounds and I know that if I don't stop this, I'm not going to maintain my loss! For the past year and a half, the binges haven't been very frequent, which is a good thing, but they've been pretty bad. I had the binge of all mega binges this past Friday night, and just feel so frustrated and ashamed of myself. I hope to finally break free of this craziness and live binge free!
