Sandra, there are several brands-I like those best, but I also use Boca Burger crumbles & I
like Quorn for chicken-most crocery stores(including Walmart )have them in the freezer
section-just ask where the vegetarian stuff is kept. Good luck-let me know if I can help!
P.S. Keep trying -some brands are yuck!

Thank You! I eat fish too, it's so healthy and good for my stomach. I will probably not be completely veg either but more mindful of it. Where do you buy the beef crumbles? I shop mostly at Walmart and one local grocery store, I don't have Sams or Costco.

Welcome! There is also a verse in Romans(?) (I'll have to find it)that says if you believe it is
wrong & you do it-it is a sin for you! While I am not a complete vegetarian(I eat seafood) I
have found that people are much more accepting when I tell them I follow a diet that is
recommended for my joints (I have RA).By the way,you can take most beef recipes & sub
"Morningstar Farms beef crumbles"-I once did this for a church potluck (although I admit I
used lots of cheese) & everyone loved it! I wish you the best!

My name is Sandra and after watching a You-Tube video called Farm to Fridge I can't stand the thought of eating meat. Actually I've been thinking of and moving slowly toward a vegetarian diet for a while but it's hard, living in beef country where everyone is a big meat eater. I haven't said anything to anyone because I hate arguing and people getting in my face. I don't tolerate much fat since I don't have a gallbladder anymore and believe a dietary change would be good for me. I'm very overweight and have joint issues and IBS. Reading the book of Genesis reminds me that God gave every plant to man and animals to eat and I'm sure that's what is healthiest for our bodies. I'm trying to get away from processed foods. My challenge is that my dh loves meat and I also have to cook for home daycare children. It would be so easy if it were just me.

I notice this isn't an active team but I'm hoping it will be as I have much to learn and want to contribute as well. I have a great lentil taco recipe and taco soup that would be great without the ground beef. I will be checking out the meat substitutes at the store and doing research on my own but I would like to get to know some other Christians who are eating this way.
