Thank you for the great advice ! Because looking at the weight that I need to lose sounds to me it will take forever . But I feel determined to do it this time . And with the help from this site it just makes it that much easier and fun . Thanks again for the advice . Leighanne

Welcome to the team! Consistence and don't give up! It sounds like alot of weight to lose, but set small goals and it won't seem quite as bad. Losing alot of weight is hard work, but it can be fun too. Good Luck!

I think I found the chat room , tho not sure if the right one. emoticon I envy you snow birds that get far enough South to stay warm and enjoy the winter weather, the furthest I seem to get is SW Missouri and it isn't really my kind of WARM for winter. emoticon I appreciate all the help you have to offer. Welcome, I too am from Northern MN. Bracing for the cold this week. We have our own challenges dealing with the weather and keeping us indoors during the winter months. I am married with two grown kids and new triplet grandsons. I too like photography, camping and needle crafts. I wish you the best, this site has so much helpful information.

Good to hear from you KAROLLONE! I know we can be of help to each other as we post and chat. There is a chat link in the team information. Join in! We love to talk with lots of others. I am kind of MIA at times being so busy in retirement but I will do my best to help you all along!!

I am a camper as well and we have spent several yrs. in the northern half of MN. camping one week a month with a group. We have done casino camping as they usually have wonderful camp site. We are currently winter Texans and are in our camper but we just bought a mobile home in this park so we have a place to come to. Camping will always be in our blood and the miles between home and home are now 1500+ miles to find good camping!!

Thank you for responding to my post and all the great information . You asked what my hobbies are and what i like to do for fun ~ So I like photography i bought a new camera about 1 yr ago . So when ever i get time i enjoy to take pictures of my kids and what ever is interesting . I have been told by many that I do a great job ! that my photos look professional . So I also enjoy camping, hunting and fishing . And I like to go to the casino and play slots . but i cant afford that so I play slots on facebook alot . Only get to go to the real casino a few times a year. Well I was wondering if you would like to be my first friend on this site ???

Welcome to Sparks, I have been a member here for a while, and I think you will find alot of good ideas and suggestions, I live in Central Mn.and am retired, I too have fought weight all my life and have 50 lbs. to RELOSE, a long journey but well worth it. Welcome aboard.

emoticon and emoticon from Chaska to a great team. We are glad you joined us. Tell us a little something about who you are. Do you have hobbies and things you do for fun? Boy, I bet keeping up with 5 boys is exercise in itself:)

You may already be aware of some of the following information. I hope I can share some information to help get you started.

Take time to look through this awesome site and begin to use the tools available. I find the nutrition & fitness tracker valuable tools. Track every morsel you eat and count the minutes you exercise even "just walking". Motion counts even if you are starting with a 5 min. walk each day. Work yourself up to at least 30 mins. of exercise daily.

Read the wealth of materials available as they give you wonderful ideas of easy changes you can make.

Build fruits & veggies into your diet. Eat 3 meals a day as well as 1-2 snacks. Keep the snacks healthy, not "junk" foods. They are a lot of empty cals. Drink lots of water as this will help flush your system & give you a fuller feeling thus decreasing the hunger sensation. Do not attempt to eat LESS than 1200cals/day as your brain is told you are starving your body so it retains carbs & fats for the future; thus weight gain. Set up your BMI to get your calorie range and try to stay within it.

Post often. Ask questions and we will help you find the answers. Join in on the fun, challenges & conversations. You just might be able to help others with their dilemmas. Try getting as many SparkPoint as you can. Reason; this leads you to a lot of fantastic information. Most of all, have fun with us.

Hello i guess I am wondering how this whole thing works! This is my second day new to this site . I think I am loving it already !! Just dont really know what i am doing though . I have the food and exercise tracker down just dont know the rest . I am a wife and mother of 5 boys . and I am a stay at home mom - wife . I need to get motivated and make alot of lifestyle changes in my life . I weigh 307 lbs . So ya I have around 180 lbs to lose . I have struggled most of my life being overweight . Sometime I can do good for several months but then I fall off the wagon . I really dont know what else to say . I just want to have fun doing this. And hopefully meet some awesome friends along the way
