GREETINGS!! I thought I'd take a moment to re-introduce myself, since I haven't done so in a few years.

My name is Sandy, and I live in Georgia. I've been on Sparkpeople since 2007, and have lost a good amount of weight, but I still have quite a bit to lose. Just for fun, here's a side-by-side of me in 2007 and in 2017:

It's been a journey, and it requires LIFE CHANGE. I'm no longer on a diet, but am making lifestyle changes.. It's the ONLY way I know I will lose the weight and keep it off long-term.

My personal eating plan at this point in my journey is to eat Fresh and RAW as much as possible! I did Keto for a time, but developed calcium deposits on my arteries and developed osteopenia (precursor to osteoporosis).

Those factors along with other health issues led me to do meta research of peer reviewed medical studies to find what works for cardiology issues, diabetes, dementia, weight loss, longevity, and building bone.

With the research I did, I know the BEST health solution for me is a NUTRIENT DENSE Diet. I'm still figuring out what that looks like for me, especially knowing tending toward Keto enables me to lose weight faster.

I'm married with two adult sons, caring for my mom (who has multiple health issues, but still lives on her own), and am a Christian writer who is currently developing Bible studies on the four gospels. My second Bachelor's Degree is in Divinity and I have a Master's Degree in Instructional Design, which I combine to create Life Applicable Bible Studies.

That's me in a nutshell!! NICE TO MEET YOU! emoticon emoticon
