Hi, Sorry to take so long in answering, lots going on and I haven't been able to respond before this. I did read your message, though and appreciate your words!. It's been a rough two weeks and each day I'm trying to stay on program as much as possible. I tend to slack into old habits, wine before dinner, etc. when I'm tired or not focusing. I'm working at changing my habits as I recognize the times when I'm not paying attention or when I feel that I need to pamper myself. I'm looking for other ways to reward myself. But I'm back on track and am doing phase 2 of the SparkPlan. By next weekend I plan to lose 1.5-2 pounds. Thanks again for your encouraging words! Keyslady

Keyslady congratulations on your loss. That must be challenging if your DH needs to gain. But sounds like you have it all figured out. When I started spark I started using a smaller plate. So I eat what everyone else does but my plate is smaller so it helps to make my portions smaller too. You're off to a great start.

This is the end of my first week and I'm happy to say that I lost 2.2 pounds! I followed the eating plan pretty closely and even ate out a few times. Went to a buffet lunch at the nearby Culinary Insitiute (talk about temptation!) Chose the fishes and had some delicious salad, potato and a bit of dessert and had a great time. The best feeling was eating with control and getting right back on track with the next meal. I find that I need the eating plan to help me with portion sizes, variety and balance in chosing the foods. I made a supper the other night using a Sparks recipe but making some substitutions and my husband RAVED! He's needs to put on a few pounds so you can imagine the challenge I have with each meal. But eating healthy is the goal with weight loss being the reward. I realized this week that if I cook healthy meals, then portion size is the means by which my husband can gain and I can lose. Good luck with the second week, everyone!

A hearty welcome to all of you! There's no posting requirement or frequency. Come when you can, post when and where you'd like! I know some are computer-shy, others just not comfortable posting yet but they do come and read and learn from others. That's okay, too! Sometimes we just have busy days or weeks like I did and don't get to the computer... or when we do have free time, don't feel like sitting at the computer. That's all okay.

Do what's best for you. We're always glad to see you whenever you stop by!

Kara

Welcome to the team. It doesn't matter when you post as long as you are taking advantage of all that spark has to offer. If you need anything just holler.

Checking in now! I'm 36, live in a teeny town in Arizona and have been very slowly losing weight since December of 2006 (when I reached my heaviest weight of 246). I've stalled now and was directed here by a friend for some much needed inspiration and encouragement. So far, I'm liking what I see and I can't wait to finally reach my goal.

Minions! I need minions! Barring that, I'll take a non fat sugar free chai latte.

I haven't introduced myself either. I'm to computer stupid. It's taken almost a week to figure out how to post this. And I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly. :)

I'm hoping this site will help me with my weight goals. It was reccommeded to me by my therapist.

Looking for the winning attitude!!! :)

There's nothing like waiting until the last day to post for the week but, better late than never I suppose! emoticon

I will be 60 at the end of December, the number of which seems SO OLD! That on top of needing to lose weight, which seems an impossibility to me at this time, I have my work cut out for me.

Glad to be here as there is so much here, and I'm still finding my way around -- have a feeling it'll take a while too!
