Hello everyone! My name is Kathy. My husband and I went on our first cruise in 2008. At that time I had to nearly drag him kicking and screaming. He did NOT want to go. He didn't think we would have any fun, and he didn't think there would be anything to do. He said the only reason he gave in was to prove me wrong. Well, it took about 24 hours before he was hooked. He loves it just as much as I do. We have only been on 7 and have our 8th booked. We may have to slip away and attend another cruise before January. It is a family reunion cruise, and so far we have over 40 people going. emoticon

Hi, I just found this team. My husband and I both love cruising. We have been on quite a few. Our most recent was a transatlantic from Florida to Rome, Italy. It was great!

When I was first trying to lose weight, I was afraid to go on a cruise because I was afraid I would over eat and put on weight. However, I have found just the opposite to be true. You can eat healthy, the fitness center is great, and dancing can burn off a lot of calories too. Also, we always use the steps instead of the elevator. So I have been able to maintain my weight even on a long cruise.

Hi everyone, my name is Nora and I am new to this team/forum/topic. My husband and I actually met on a cruise. It was 1974 and I was on my way to spend some time with friends in New Zealand - Wellington - and he was on his way around the world on a working vacation. I did get off in Auckland and he proceeded on to Sydney, Australia where I joined him in August of 1974. Needless to say, his trip around the world began and ended in the South Pacific and we came home to Vancouver, BC where we eventually got married and settled into family life. We have since cruised to Alaska (2xs) and to LA once. We are hoping to cruise the Caribbean and the Panama Canal but first we both have to get healthy. I hope you are all doing well with your weight loss journey and I will keep in touch.

I haven't failed. I've just found ten thousand ways that won't work.

Hi Everyone! My name is Jen and I decided to join Cruising Sparkers since one of my BIG goals is to be fit enough for Alaska in 2013! I have been cruising since my honeymoon when we took RC to Nova Scotia (it shoulda been a cruise to Alaska hence my 10 year anniversary will be Alaska). Then I have been on a cruise each year since on Royal Caribbean, Disney, Princess, Holland America, Norweigan and Carnival. Whew! I've done the Caribbean, Bermuda, Mexico, Wine Country, a funky riverboat cruise on the Mississippi and Canada. Out of all of the cruise lines I LOVE Royal Carribbean the best but I think it's going to be 2nd place after Alaska on Celebrity cruises. I think I may have talked WAY longer than anyone really wanted to read so I will end this with a "Cannot wait to talk to all of you!"

Hi there. I just found this team. My husband and I are avid cruisers. We have been on 17 cruises with either RCCL or Princess. We have visited over 46 countries. Now how can anyone afford to go to each of these countries individually? We love visiting different places and getting a snippet of the different cultures. Our last cruise was Asia departing from Australia in June. We are booked to do Australia and New Zealand in November! Can't wait!

I will be sailing out on Saturday on my first cruise ever!! Leave Miami on a 5 day Carnival cruise to the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rio,Jamaica.
This is ALL new to me. Any advice? How about the money exchange? Anything to really watch out for?
The Cayman Island: going to Boatswains Beach Adventure Marine Park. Jamaica: Bamboo Beach Club and Dunn's River Falls
Looking forward to warmer weather, as it has been about -9degrees for the past couple days here in Wisconsin. Windchill bringing it down to the -20's.
Any/all feed back would be appreciated!! You can either post here or send me a spark mail. Thanks!! Loretta

Hey, I'm Lisa, I'm 25, and I'm from Vancouver.

I love being from here because so many cruises start from and end here, and many are round trip or can be made round trip if you book them back to back, so not having to bother with flights and hotels if we don't want to is awesome.

I've been on 5 cruises so far (I think that's right, anyway haha). My first cruise was down to southern California with my family when I was 11. My most recent was to Alaska this June/July.

I've been on Princess twice (the Star, and the Sapphire) and Holland America 3 times (the Noordam, and the Zaandam twice). The first few I did were down the coast to California. The other 2 were Hawaii and Alaska.

I'd really like to do the Panama Canal next, and the Mediterranean after that. I'd really, really, really love to go on one of the World Cruises at some point.

But hey, I'm still young and living on student loans - that'll be a while!

I didn't realize I'd never posted on this thread before.

Hi, my name is Debbie ["Hi, Debbie!"] and I love to cruise. I've only done two cruises so far though. But my goal in life is to do one cruise a year or at least every other year. Then in retirement I plan on doing it frequently (I'm only 36, but I've been planning my retirement for years - one of my goals is to have enough money to cruise at least 2-3 times a year!)

The cruises I've done were a 7-night out of San Juan on Adventure of the Seas in 2003 with my husband (back when she was the biggest on the ocean) and then a January 2008 cruise on Liberty of the Seas (again, biggest on the ocean) with my husband a two kids. I love the big ships. So much to do. But I don't think I'll be going on Oasis anytime soon - $$$, time, and schedule will probably conspire against me.

Two nights ago I booked my kids and myself onto Carnival's Elation out of San Diego (where I live) for October 4th for 5 nights. DH won't be able to join us because of his work schedule. But I got an awesome military rate so I talked him into letting me go with the kids alone.

Its itinerary includes Ensenada and Cabo. I have no intention of getting off the ship at all. I've been to Ensenada and don't feel like doing Cabo alone with a 2 yr-old and 4 yr-old. Besides, I'm a ship person - not a port person. I like the ships being less crowded when everyone else is ashore. On Liberty I didn't get off the ship in Jamaica. I loved it that way.

I'm looking forward to my single-mom vacation with the kids. I expect it to be relaxing since I can put the kids in Camp Carnival for a few hours every day while I get the chance to work out. And then I can spend the rest of the day playing with my kids and getting a further workout chasing them. My kids had a blast on our last cruise. I figure they'll enjoy this one too.

Thank you. It sure helps to be retired - frees up large blocks of time for things like a world cruise (113 days) and circle South America and Antarctica (65 days). I never got out of the country while I was working.

Welcome!! Wow, you have a lot of 'em under your belt! :D

SHAITAYLOR: I was in both Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios in January... LOVED Grand Cayman, Jamaica, not so much. Loved my excursions in Ocho Rios (Coyaba River Garden is gorgeous, and climbing Dunn's River Falls is fun!), but the whole experience felt rushed. Grand Cayman was much more relaxing to me, and I felt safer.

But it sure beat being home in January! You'll have fun! :D

Good morning, all. I introduced myself on another thread, but will elaborate a little. I had to go over to the Cruise Critic board to copy my history and post it here:

9/12/02 Mediterranean - Celebrity Constellation
10/15/04 Nassau - Carnival Fascination
1/13/05 World Cruise - Prinsendam
6/10/06 Best of the Baltic - Rotterdam
8/19/06 Roman Empire - Noordam
8/30/06 Adriatic Jewels - Prinsendam
10/29/06 Caribbean - Westerdam
6/23/07 Boston-Nova Scotia - Maasdam
8/19/07 Mediterranean - Westerdam
1/3/08 Circle S. America - Prinsendam

Next is 7/2/08 Inaugural of Eurodam
Then 3/09 Mediterranean & Black Sea - Prinsendam

As you can see, Holland America is my cruising home, and I love the Mediterranean cruises. Prinsendam is my favorite ship, as it is HAL's smallest and does the longer cruises. The Eurodam is a large one, and we signed on mainly for the celebration of its inauguration and to meet other online friends in person. I know a couple of cruisers here on SP from that board too. Soon I'll know more, I think.

Countdown is 17 days until we fly over to Amsterdam.

My next cruise is 3/11//09, Mediterranean and Black Sea.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the group and new to cruising. Well, I actually haven't been on a cruise yet, but I have booked my first one for Sept 27 thru Oct 2. I'm going to Grand Cayman and Jamaica. I can't wait. It's something I want to do once a year. I'll see how the first one goes. I hope I don't get sea sick. emoticon

Hello everyone! I am new to the group and kind of new to cruising. I say kind of because I am a former employee of Royal Carribean and my fiancee is a current employee. We are getting married in September and will be cruising the first week of October. It will be my official first cruise and I am so excited. After we return from our cruise I will return to work at Royal (hopefully) and I love working for them. My fiancee has been an employee for 7 years.

We were on NCL in January - trip to Belize, Cozumel and Honduras. Had a great time but NCL was only "ok" compared to others we've been on. We cruised Disney a few years back and that spoiled us for other cruises. The customer service on Disney is so top-notch that everything else is much lower by comparison. We had a great time (the cruise is what you make it), but thot the food and the customer service left a lot to be desired.

Hello fellow cruiselovers -- I'm new to the group, and have cruised 3 times to the Caribbean only so far. West to Mexico on the Carnival Sensation out of New Orleans (before Katrina), East on the Zuiderdam in Oct 06 from Fort Lauderdale, and South on Adventure of the Seas in Oct 07 from San Juan. I have one booked on Carnival Miracle to cover Central America, again from Fort Lauderdale and have been considering an Alaskan trip on Celebrity Mercury in August (seeing my son in Vancouver). I'm hooked -- and even though I've always visited the buffet more than the gym, the walking alone has always kept my weight stable on a cruise. I'm going to keep trying new ports and try not to hit the same one twice until I've covered the map!

For every journey, there are many types of explorers ... so for each of us, the experience is our own devine design

We just got back home Friday from our 11 day Hawaiian cruise on NCL Pride of Aloha! Although we had a blast, and this was our second time on this ship (7 day Aug./Sept also Hawaii) we would not recomend this cruiseline. We were dissapointed with the food and service & the idea of "Freestyle" was a joke. Most nights, if you wanted to eat in one of the two main dining rooms, you were given a "beeper" and had to wait anywhere from 10-45 minutes to be seated (eat when you want?). It seemed like everywhere we went on the ship we overheard guests discussing the lines and "freestyle cruising"...all were negative. I even heard from two seperate guests that had to wait over an hour (one waited 1 & a half hrs). Besides the wait times...I prefer knowing I will be seated at the same table with the same ppl and the same servers each night. The servers get to know you and we have always recieved excellent service. And besides that, you make new friends--others who love cruising... And I don't think a person should have to pay extra to recieve top-rate service & food(Specialty restaurants. We felt like their buffet was nothing better than what you could find in a casino buffet--in fact we have had a BETTER buffet in Las Vegas! But don't get me wrong--we still had fun and will definetly be doing other cruises in the future! I heard some good things about Carnival from others on this cruise as well as here, so I would love to try them sometime.

Hi Guys,
Going on a 7 day cruise aboard the Jewel of the Seas the 2nd of March out of Ft. Lauderdale. My wife and I are really looking forward to it. I'm not sure of the whole itinerary but I know that Belize is on the list; really looking forward to that. Have a couple of sea days which sound good to me, I can use the down time except for the exercise time.

Hi everyone. I'm going to jump in here. I, too, love cruising, but so far have only been on 2. Carnival our of Galveston to the western Caribbean and Princess our of Florida to St. Maarten and St. Thomas. I only started cruising 2 years ago. Before that I had wanted to go, but couldn't talk my husband into it. I went with friends on both trips. One of my friends is a confirmed Princess Fan, but I'm not so picky.

My question is about the quilting cruise I saw that someone had mentioned they were organizing. I would love to get more info on it. Two loves on one cruise, heaven.

Hi Marta,

I loved the Norway! I don't know if it was because it was my first cruise or if it was because the ship was so special. I loved the history of the Norway and I cannot believe she is or has already been scrapped from what I read.

I took a peak at your spark page and can't believe how much we have in common! I just had to leave you a comment.

I would love to hear about some of your most memorable cruises. I can't believe how many you have been on! What a resource to the team! I imagine that you have some very interesting stories and tons of advice regarding ships, routes, travel tips, etc.

WTG on your weight loss! That is awesome! I look forward to getting to know you and the rest of the team members.

Hi Bonnie, Wow, I can't believe you were on the Norway, I was too, back in 1986, I remember it being around the time the Challenger exploded. I loved that ship. I thought it was so cool. Also on the big red boat in 1990, just dont actually remember which ship. And I applied for a job with Eastern as a flight attendant and was hired only to hear they went bankrupt. Ah well.

Hi everyone!

Sorry to come in on the conversation so late, but I recently joined this team and just had to join in and comment on Premier Cruise Lines. Wow that brings back some memories! My husband was with Eastern Airlines in Public Relations and I was a flight attendant with Eastern based out of MIA/FLL until they went bankrupt in 1991. We were invited to go on the innaugural sail to nowhere on the SS Royale (Premier's first ship) and be involved in the Christening Ceremony. Gosh I can't remember what year that was...maybe 1983 or 1984? This was back when Eastern was the official airline of Disney World.

Our first cruise was on the NCL's SS Norway and we sailed out of Miami. Then we went on Premier sail to nowhere. Then we stopped cruising for a while. I don't know why because it was one of my favorite vacations. Eastern went bankrupt, we had a couple of children, ended up moving from south Florida to Birmingham, AL.

I finally convinced my husband to take another cruise in 2000 and he loved it. We made the mistake of taking the kids on the next cruise and now we can't go on one without them! We were taking one or two cruises a year until the last couple of years family issues have kept us closer to home. We are going on a cruise this summer to celebrate our son's 21st birthday on Carnival Glory/Western Caribbean though. I would love to sail somewhere other than the Caribbean, but we usually end up going on a route or ship that has a lot of other children/teenagers during Spring Break and summer vacation when our kids are out of school. Our kids like Carnival the best and we like Celebrity or RCL the best of the ones we have tried so far. We have sailed on the Conquest 3 times because it was so easy to sail out of New Orleans...it was an easy drive from Birmingham.

I'm glad to have found this board and look forward to getting to know all of you.

I found this about the Big Red Boat, but it was on wikipedia, so can't vouch for the accuracy:

The Oceanic (Big Red Boat I) is still sailing today for Spain based Pullmantur Cruises. The Big Red Boat II, formerly Eugenio Costa, was sold for scrap. The Big Red Boat III, formerly Carnival Cruise Line's Festivale was also sold for scrap. The former Frederico C (called the Seabreeze I) was to be scrapped at India but instead sank in a storm 220 nautical miles (407 km) off the Virginia coast. Lastly, the Rembrandt, formerly the Rotterdam, was purchased by the city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, to be restored and kept as a historic landmark.

Happy Cruisin!

Bonnie

I had to edit this because I had to dig a little to find out when we actually went on the SS Royale's maiden voyage. I think it was 1984 instead of 1983.

Speking of 'going together'. Wouldn't it be fun if we could plan a cruise for us to all go on together? Don't know when I could fit it in, but it sure would be fun.

Our last cruise was 7 nights on NCL, cruisin the Hawaiian Islands! We loved it and had such fun that dh booked us for another one within a week of returning. So we are going back in Jan. for an 11 night cruise. Our last day in HA we went snorkeling for the fist time and loved it! We can't wait to go again. This was also the first time we went on any shore excursions...we are now planning our next shore excursions for the next one. DH also booked us a Mexican Riveria Cruise on Royal Caribbean Vision of the Sea. This last cruise we went on was the first where we were trying to lose weight, but I was proud to say I maintained during the first three and only gained about 4 lb. on this last one which included about a week of extra days in HA. Now our goal is to get down about 15-20 lbs before the next one and then to maintain during. We haven't firmed up the date for Mexico, but are thinking about next fall sometime.

BTW, my name is Vicki and my profile pic is from the last cruise.

I just found this team and joined because I also love cruising. My first three were short (about 4 night)repositioning cruises. The first one with Holland America from LA to Victoria BC ending in Vancouver BC. We loved it and the bug bit hard! Loved the ship and the food and service were excellent! 5 star food every night with a differnet flaming dessert each night! Most cruisers we met were well-to-do seniors who cruised many times...being 1st timers we were in the minority, and we kept it a secret that we took the greyhound bus to get to LA and had my parents pick us up (by car) in Vancouver. The 2nd one was Seattle round trip on Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the sea's second voyage...went to Victoria and Vancouver again, returning to Seattle. We live in OR and took the train to and from Seattle and loved it all. the ship was gorgeaous & food and service good, but more like 4 star. this ship had a younger clientele and we felt like old-timers because we had cruised b4 (even if it was only once). Both cruises we felt like royalty being spoiled rotten. The 3rd cruise was on the Coral Princess and was three days at sea, with no port of call, from Vancouver BC to LA. We took the train to Seattle where we transferred to Amtrak bus to Vancouver (another story for later), then boarded the ship to LA, where we rented a car for several days in CA and then flew home. We were proud that our trip covered most modes of transportation...Plane, Train, Car and Ship. We didn't mind the days at sea...just figured it was 3 days of pampering. We were upgraded from inside cabin to outside with balcony!

Hey Jacque, I hope you can get to stay in Barcelona a couple of days before, I haven't been there, but my son has a friend there and he has been flying back and forth since he was 13. He loves it. You'lll have to let me know about your transatalantci. I want to do transatlantic on the Queen Mary, and I wanwt to do Windstar through the Greek Islands. Of course I will never be able to afford either, but those are dreams for mr. Have you done either?

Yes, we're flying to Barcelona (included). I'd really like to go a day or two early so that we can tour Barcelona a little. I've never done a trans-atlantic, so I'm really excited about it.

If you don't have a goal, how will you know when you get there?

Hi Jacque, Awesome, yes I LOVE the Renaissance ships too, I still can't get over the fact they went out of business, they were so great. That broke my heart too. Have you done an Oceania cruise before? I can't even afford their agent rate on them!!! I just happened to get lucky once with them. Is the trans-atlantic one the 15 day from Barcelona??? Did you get the 2 for 1 with the air special? I wanted to do that one so bad :( take lots of pictures so I can drool over them when you get back!!!

Wow, DD, that cruise sounds great! I live Oceania's ships (the R-ships). I just got an e-mail today that talked about where all the R ships are now. We're doing a tran-Atlantic cruise on Oceania next November.

If you don't have a goal, how will you know when you get there?

Hi.
Newbie, here. Found your SparkTeam and joined. I went on my first cruise last year and love, love, loved it. Did Oceania Athens to Rome with extra week in Rome on our own.

Next up, Hawaii, and then So. America and Antarctica.

Anyway, so nice to find like-minded people here.

We were on the Seaward in April - during Easter Break. We really liked the ship, and all the activities - that was when they would have a costume party one night, a 50's night, and a Caribbean night. We planned for all of them, and really had a good time. Now that the ships are so much bigger, it seems they have eliminated a lot of that type of activity.

If you don't have a goal, how will you know when you get there?

Hi Jacque, When in 1991 were you on the Seaward? My brother was on that ship as the ships Registered Nurse at that time. He was working on that ship when he had his car accident. He had taken off work for a week and was driving with friends to Las Vegas. They were nailed by a drunk driver that was doing over 100 miles an hour, they ended up in the cement center divider and he is now severly brain damaged. He is like a 2 year old. Could be he was on the ship with you. His accident was Feb 20, 1991 so he wasn't on it after that.

Brenda, I love Jamaica too. I haven't been there on a cruise, but I've been there twice. Once we stayed in Ocho Rios and the other time in Negril. Did you climb Dunn's River Falls when you were there? I did ALaska a few years ago too on Celebrity. It was great. We did one of the repositioning cruises so it left from San Diego, went up the coast to Los ANgeles (oh boy) then to San Francisco, Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver and then on up to ALaska. I really enjoyed it. You can't do ALaska on a cruise in January, they only do them from May to Sept and they go to the Caribbean in the winter, but that is the time to go to ANtarctica and it is just as beautiful. In fact, I liked it better than ALaska. That ship we did it on was a smaller expedition ship. They actually had seat belts on the beds. Can you believe it??? I looked at that and thought on no... we are in for one heck of a ride and we sure were too. We used those seat belts 3 nights in a row so we didnt get bounced out of bed in the middle of the night. It was great. It was definatley an E ticket ride! I LOVE TALKING TO PEOPLE THAT LOVE TO CRUISE emoticon

Hi, I'm Jacque and I love to cruise (I feel like I'm at an AA meeting-LOL) Anyway, I went on my first cruise in 1991 on NCL - the Seaward to the Western Caribbean - Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Cozumel. My husband was not really wanting to go, because he was afraid he'd be seasick (he went deep-sea fishing when he was young & was sick as a dog). Anyway, my Dad gave us the cruise for Christmas the year after my mom died, and I finally made reservations, so my DH had to go. He loved it! We went on the Big Red Boat the following year with our youngest son, who was 14, and then again with all 3 of our sons & the 2 oldest's girlfriends (now their wives). Since then, we've gone on a cruise just about every year. Our favorite cruise line was Renaissance (which went bankrupt after 9/11 - now it's Oceania). Our last cruise was last summer - we took our sons, daughters-in-law & 7 grandchildren on the Disney Magic for a week's cruise of the Eastern Caribbean. We have 3 cruises scheduled for next year - Feb 23 on Carnival to Eastern Caribbean - October on Carnival to Western Caribbean on a scrapbooking cruise - November on Oceania from Barcelona to Miami on a repositioning cruise.

The only cruise I have been on was in 2003 with my sister and cousin (the girls in my profile pic--this was from our beach trip this past July)! We went on Royal Carribean and it was nice. It was only a three day one b/c when we planned it it was totally spur of the moment and we didn't really have the time or money saved up. But we had an awesome time! We went to Nassau and Coco Cay (their 'private' island). I absolutly loved Coco Cay! It was beautiful. Could have spent the whole trip right there!

I'm really looking forward to this one in December b/c it'll be a longer one and on Carnival. My aunt is a HUGE Carnival fan (brenda908) and she has been wanting Steve & I to go with them for years now. Up until now I haven't been able to get him on a cruise. I'm hoping to make it the best vacation ever so he'll continue to go on them.

If he likes it then hopefully we'll get on the Disney one. Steve & I are both huge Disney fans -- matter a fact we leave in two weeks to go to Disney World!! And I'd like to try their cruise to see how it is.

So if no one minds I'd like to start an exercise thread, since I have 12 weeks to lose some weight I think it would really help if I could check in and keep tabs of the exercise I do!

I'm not big on having a million and one threads b/c I'm a stickler for organization, but since this is are 'talk cruising' thread then I thought it be OK to have an exercise thread!

Thanks! Have a great day!!

Hi Brenda, I forgot to mention that I was on the big red boat, believe it or not, my husband and I did it for our honeymoon. It was fun. I loved the Bahamas, and the "private island" which is only their private island for the one particular day, it is another cruise lines ("private island on the other days) ANyway, the private island we went to is the same island they filmed Gilligans Island on so we got to swim in "the lagoon" It was great.

Hi Brenda, Of course you are free to talk cruising. Thats what this team is all about. I love cruising and the few people we have on here so far love it too. It's really funny, you mention that your favorite is Carnival, I am so happy to hear that, because I love Carnival too. I have clients that wouldnt go on Carnival for anything in the world, even though they have NEVER been on them. And if the truth be known, Carnival is the one that goes above and beyond as far as customer service. They will do what it takes to make their customer happy. I like different ones for different things. I like NCL for the price and their itineraries, I like Holland AMerica for their ships and especially their spas, I like Princess because they are the absolute best about giving free upgrades and up as high as they can go. When my mom and I did Australia and S. E. Asia with Princess (actually their british sister company which is P & O) we paid for an inside and got a Suite. Plus, our flight from LAX was 14 hours late and they held the ship for us in Sydney. I like Celebrity for the food, I like Royal Caribbean for the pricing. I love Disney for the "total cruise experience, Disney really has it down!!! I like Seabourn and Crystal for their pampering and their beautiful ships although if I had to pay full price on either of them I could never afford to go. But it is the same with all the cruise lines, they all have something to offer and they all have their own following. My very best Holland AMerican clients had been on at least 30 cruises with them and all over the world, that's all they ever wanted. One time they wanted to take the whole family on a cruise for the Holidays and Carnival had the best itinerary and the best program for the kids, so they booked it. I couldnt believe it but they absolutely loved it and have booked it about 6 times since then. They do about 4 cruises a year. My sister has only been on Royal Caribbean and says she doesnt like the others, how could she know that, shes hasnt been on any others. It is just so funny. Another thing is I have some Holland America clients that wont go on anyone else either and especially Carnival, but what they dont know is Carnival OWNS Holland America! I havent been on the Liberty but I am glad to hear you like it, I have some clients going on it soon so now I know they will enjoy it. The cruise I am doing in Oct is to Mexico on Royal Caribbean so my sister is going with me, I have been there many many times and would go many more times. I am organizing a scrapbooking and quilting cruise on Carnival next Oct too and know they will do an awesome job for me, this one is sailing from Miami, but since we live in San Diego we usually go out of either San Diego or Los ANgeles when we go and we dont have to fly. It makes it much more affordable. I do love my job, I dont make much money at it, but since my husband has a good job, I dont have to. I love booking vacations for people because they are always in a great mood and they always have fun. Especially honeymooners, they get a great all inclusive honeymoon for a very reasonable rate. I have never had a complaint from anyone about any cruise line. It's just a great job. I did go to ANtarctica on Marine Expeditions and that was an experience, I loved it though, their whole crew was Greek, (the officers) and all they did was argue with each other the whole time and a couple of times even got into fist fights, it was so funny, but it was so much fun, probably because of all of that. Yes, yes, yes, please feel free to talk cruising. I love it!!! What a great vacation. Have you done a European River Cruise, oh what an awesome trip that is. It's fantastic. I want to do one to the European Christmas Markets. I have always wanted to do one of those. I did the South of France and it was wonderul.

Marta

Hi
I introduced myself on the other topic board, just came over here to talk cruising!

I've been on about 11 all to the same places...western carib. My very 1st cruise was the premiere cruise line...Big red boat, what used to be the old disney cruise! I am sure you remember it marta. My favorite line is carnival and right now my favorite ship is the Liberty, sailed on it twice in a row for 2 years.

i hope I am welcome to talk some more...I really am jealous of you Mart, for being a travel agent!!! LOL

stay strong

I am doing a scrapbooking cruise in a few weeks, Oct 7th, with Royal Caribbean and on March 1st I am going on Holland America's Oosterdam to Mexico. I have been to Mexico on cruises several times because it is so close, we dont relaly care where it goes we just like to cruise. I really enjoyed Holland Americas 15 day circle Hawaii cruise. That was wonderful. I also really enjoyed doing Australia and Southeast Asia with Princess' sister company P&O, I liked it so much I took my mom once and my son antoher time and want to do it again with my husband, but would probably do Australia and New Zealand this time, I could never talk my husband into going to Asia. My husband is a Lt. with the sheriff's dept and doesnt trust the police in many places. He wont get off the ship when we go to Mexico, he's funny but I love him. I have been on almost every cruiseline and pretty much like them all, they all have something to offer. The one in a couple of weeks will be my 37th cruise.

Absolutely I love to cruise. My favorite place to go was to Antarctica. We went for the millenium. My husband is a homebody and does not like to travel, and that is the very first time I talked him into going with me. I told him that it a once in a life time trip. He now loves to cruise. I loved it because I love God's great earth and especially his animals. I got to see penguins in their natural habitat. It was wonderful. It had snowed like crazy for most of the cruise from the tip of Chile over to Antarctica. We thought for sure when we got there we would not be able to make a landing on the continent due to weather. However, as soon as we arrived, the skies opened up and it was the most brilliant beautiful sun I had ever seen, the icebergs glistened and so as did the water. The colors were incredible. We were there about 4 days, it was incredibly spiritual, kind of like what I think heaven will look like.
