I am totally new to this posting thing. I sure hope I do it right. I am excited to have others to in my same situation.

I am really interested in losing weight and get more energy. I have a desk job high stress job. I really love my job but need more dicipline about eating and exercising.

Hello friends, I am new to this but not new to being active and weight loss. In the past I've worked with a trainer as well as a handful of diets. The problem was I either never stuck with them well enough or I would cheat.

Now I have a handful of health issues (some even weight loss and activity won't address) and quite a few I could reduce or get rid of if I loose the weight.

So here I come, looking for help and motivation and accountablity.

Hello there,

I am a 40 year old married mother of 3. I have been on the dieting roller coaster for some 30 years and have finally made a commitment to myself to drop the 60lbs that I need to be healthy.

I'm not looking to be a model, I just know that I am approaching an age where I am more susceptible to health issues. I am a snack food junkie and I haven't been able to kick the habit it's like heroin to a junkie.

Maybe together we can start and finish the journey together. Hope to chat with you again. emoticon

Hi everyone,

I am Marilyn and new to all of this. I very excited to be a part of a large group, all trying to achieve the same goal. I need some help with the posting of the gratitude goal list. I figured out how to post here and one other place...but can't see how to do that post, Help? Also, I am 57 years old, divorced, 6 children...almost all grown and on their own..1 left who is 18 years old. I want to lose 60 pounds although I know that the progress towards that goal will be a success in and of itself. As I work my way through the website, I hope that I get more efficient at it! Thanks

Hello everyone! This is my first post and I am excited about joining the group. I am 40 years old and need to lose around 60 lbs. I've tried everything possible to drop the weight, but have somehow always fallen off the wagon. My goal is to be consistent, take one day at a time, and think of the health benefits of losing the weight. My family history is riddled with heart disease and diabetes and I don't want to go down that road. My 41st birthday is fast approaching, it is time for me to make the critical changes to achieve my goals.

I thought I'd make a little post to say hello, and how grateful I am that there's a team dedicated to people who find it a bit intimidating to communicating with people through websites.

Anyway... a 'bit' about me... I'm from the UK. I'm 22 and Female.

Hi~

I am super excited about the spark website. I think my favorite thing is tracking my nutrition. Its way easier than I ever thought it could be.

I am a runner - 5K through the marathon. Alot of times I tend to eat whatever I want and try to run it off. Or not focus as much as I should on the fuel I eat. Consequently, as I am getting older and metabolism is slowing down, I am noticing, I am hanging out about 10 lbs heavier than my ideal weight.
And from tracking my food, GOSH- NO WONDER!!!

HI everyone,
I just joined this team hoping it will help me to post and participate more often. I have been very successful here since joining in March. I really enjoy reading everyones posts and blogs, I just have a hard time doing it myself. Today I hit my 30 pound lost mark and it feels wonderful. I also have lost 10 inches from my waist and 10 inches from my hips. It took me a few days to start tracking my food intake, but I truly believe that is what is making me lose. And not once have I felt like I am being deprived of food. I have cheated a few times but the next day I start over again. I never thought I would be able to lose the weight now that I am 53 and going through menopause, but I am doing it, and I hope I can inspire someone else to do the same. Good Luck to everyone.

Hi, I am new to SparkPeople. I heard about this site from a friend and it looks great! I need to loose about 70 pounds. I travel a lot for work so I tend to eat too much and too much unhealthy food. My goal is to make a lifestyle change-eat less, eat healthy and exercise regularly. It's easier said than done, though!

I really need help in loosing weight, I have been on every diet that's out there.
I saw a picture of myself and i thought I would die. Then I was walking up,at the mall and I saw myself in a window and saw what I really looked like. I couldn't believe it. I really got depressed and didn't want to go on. A nurse friend of mine told me about this site so here I'm.

I am relatively new to SP and not so certain on the "posting" aspect. My busy life doesn't always allow me time to sit and read the info on the site, but I do love being able to track my meals, exercise and progress. I also like that I can add my own meals and recipes, seeing were they fall in the "healthy" category, which as been an eye opener with some. My over all goal is to improve my health, find "my" motivation to get more exercise and hopefully lose some weight.

Hi - I joined a few months ago. I have found the postings and emails very helpful, but I still haven't lost any weight. I keep starting back at the beginning - wondering when the motivation will pick up enough to get me going longer than a week.

Hello! Tastytoast here giving a shoutout from California, USA. Just joined SP today and am falling in love with the site!

I love how much control you have over their suggestions vs what you'd like to do that day. I am looking to lose some weight gained from birth control which I'm also experimenting with to find one that will reduce the amount of weight I gain.

I also love the little weight loss meters! So cute. :) Looking forward to seeing some progress and congrats to those who have made the changes happen!

Hi! I've been on SP for a while but I've been rather nervous to post and I don't know why. I've never used message boards before, so it might be a bit before I catch on!

Hello. I am brand new (today) to SP and am hoping that it will be just the thing I need to help motivate me to continue my weight loss journey. I am 25, with a career that I love and an amazing husband - but I became complacent after moving back to the States and getting married. I recently became vegan the first of the year and it has definitely helped to get me back on track. I have only weighed myself once (about a 3 weeks ago) to monitor my progress and have not actively made an effort to lose weight - until today. I joined this website to help make me more accountable for weighing in, tracking my food and exercise and generally keeping me on track.

So. I just joined SP earlier today, and this is actually the first time I've ever heard of it. It seams like a great site and I am excited to get more acquainted with it. For the past year, I had been dieting to lose weight for my wedding at the end of March. Once I got back from the honeymoon, I didn't feel like I had anything to lose weight for anymore. So, I fell right back into my old habits, and now, only a little over a month later, I am 10lbs heavier than I was on the day of my wedding. And here I am, hoping to find the motivation to get myself back in shape and feeling as beautiful as I felt on my wedding day. I'm ready to get started and enjoy the benefits of a healthy life.

Hello Everyone. I have been a member for quite a while but never really used it until recently. Under Dr's orders and with relatively serious health problems I am now very serious about my weight and health. I turned 34 today in fact, am married and have 5 children, 4 boys and 1 princess ranging in age from 9 to 2. I joined a walking club 12 weeks ago, and 2 weeks ago got my diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome. I also suffer from multinodular thyroid disease. I joined Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago and have been trying to regularly journal here. I am focusing on my walking and what I eat. I am delighted to say that I have lost 5lbs since joining WW. Everyday is a struggle within myself to keep on the right track but somehow I keep pushing on. I am hoping that I can get a handle on my life and my bad habits and turn things around for good. I am trying to lose 60lbs. Sorry this post is so wordy. I tend to ramble. Good luck to everyone and I am here if anyone needs support. We are all in this together. Take care. emoticon

Hi Everyone! I just started again today...I tried this 2 years ago and lost 10 lbs and stopped. Since then I have gained back the 10 lbs and then some. I am determined to stick with it this time, I know the plan works!
I am a stay at home mom to a 5 year old boy and a former kindergarten teacher. Being home and near the kitchen all day has caused my weight gain. Looking forward to posting with you all.
