Hi K! Welcome back to SparkPeople, and the team! I'm glad to have you with us.

In case you haven't heard of it, Couch to 5K is a great program to help people learn to run. Now, I know - every human "knows" how to run. C25K is a great way to ease into the process and slowly build up your stamina and endurance. Spark has several C25K teams if you're interested in group support that way as well.

Let us know if you have any questions or if we can help in any way!

Hi all. My name is K, and I am restarting SparkPeople. I did it a few years ago, and it worked well. I've been trying Weight Watchers on and off for the last two years, and have found that converting food into "points" doesn't work well for me for the long run and for a substantial lifestyle change.

Long story short- I was at my lightest in the summer of 2009 (I was getting ready for bridesmaid dresses, and I was motivated!). I ended up going through a long personal crisis shortly thereafter, and gained ten pounds. I lost that the next summer (being newly divorced does wonders on the diet), but have since gained almost 15-20 lbs back. It's not his fault- but spending time with my boyfriend totally trumps wanting to be good on a diet- especially since he's naturally slender and can eat anything and everything without consequence (jerk).

SO- with all that being said- after seeing the scale on the doctor's office and realizing I DO NOT want to be at my heaviest (and was 8 lbs away from it), I knew I had to make a change. My plan is to be active with tracking my food and activity through SparkPeople, and getting some fitness in through yoga (I just moved in across the street from a studio!), and running. I don't run. I've tried and failed many times. I want to like to run. I get really jealous of all those people I see jogging through my neighborhood enjoying it.

That's enough of me! Hopefully this works!
